Casting Call (Player Character Selection)
This thread will serve two purposes:
1. It will be used to supply a list of pre-generated characters. Once a character is claimed (first come first serve) the player will be assigned to the post detailing the character.
2. Discuss character concepts among the other players when creating custom characters. Do not post anything about your character here that others would not know. Reserve that for your personal character sheet which is private.

The following link leads to the official character generator by Modiphius. This is very helpful when creating your own character.

Ketei is a Hyrkanian Horse Archer that has travelled west to Brythunia. He speaks the Brythunian, Hyrkanian, and Turanian languages. His primary ability is that of a fast, mobile archer. He has several talents enhancing his archery capability. He wears relatively light armor to allow for his mobility. He is also good with animals, namely his beloved mount Shetah. He is lithe, agile and perceptive, with pretty standard capability in other areas.

Eirik is a Vanir warrior from the snow covered lands of Vanaheim. He speaks Nordheimer and Brythunian. He is mostly known for being a hard hitting brute but he also quite capable when it comes to being stealthy. His talents only cover killing people and little else. He wears a mix of cobbled together armor that offers reasonable protection. He is strong, agile and well able of surviving the harsh wilderness.

AMALA, BLADE FOR HIRE

Born in one of Hyperborea's bleak stone fastnesses, Amala was the daughter of a Brythunian slave, her father a petty warlord. Life was hard and treacherous, with a dim future ahead. While on a raid into the Border Kingdoms, Amala saw that even those meager towns offered a better life. She escaped, exploring the Hyborian kingdoms to the west of her homeland. Eventually, Amala ventured to the Bossonian Marches, where quick wits and a ready blade may provide her with what her birthright could not.

Amala is tall and lean, with a ragged shock of grayish-blonde hair and pale blue eyes. Her tunic and garments are of dull leather and wool, with a voluminous cloak of dark muted purple. Her broad girdle boasts a sword and knife, and hidden around her person are more such weapons.

OTHWALD, EXPERIENCED TRACKER

Born in the Gunderland province in northern Aquilonia, Othwald is of that fierce, pure breed of Hybori stock. A rugged frontiersman, Othwald learned the ways of the forest when he was but a whelp, and has years-hard experience tracking and scouting the Pictish Wilderness, often as part of the Aquilonian advance into that region. Restless among civilized folk, Othwald has come to the border, seeking to know what lies beyond the tree line.

Compact of build, Othwald has grey eyes, a shaggy mop of tawny hair, and wears a short beard. His garb is that of a tracker and seasoned woodsman, well-worn leather, fur, and wool, his weapons plain yet serviceable.

MAEVE, TALENTED ARCHER

Few Cimmerians leave their rugged hills, but Maeve is one of these oddities. Born to one of the southern-most hill-tribes, Maeve’s folk were not so hostile towards the folk of the Bossonian Marches, and intermarried with them at times. And thus, indulging her wanderlust, Maeve joined one of their companies, learning the ways of the famed Bossonian archers. Since then, she continued southward, currently seeing what the border between Aquilonia and Pictland has to offer.

Maeve is tall and lean, with a fierce countenance, with a night-black mane of hair and eyes like chips of ice. She wears the gear of a Bossonian archer, as well as the thick woolen garments of her homeland.

ADELSTAN, YOUNG KNIGHT

Adelstan's father was a knight in the service to Aquilonia, killed in one of King Numedides' many border wars with Zingara, and his mother, a noble’s handmaiden who died in childbirth. Thus orphaned, Adelstan was fostered as a squire, learning the way of mounted horsemanship, chivalry, and armed combat. With little but his war-gear, Adelstan has come to the Aquilonian border to make a name for himself, so that he can return to more civilized lands and earn some sort of rank or title.

Adelstan is tall and broad-shouldered, with a thick shock of tawny hair and brown eyes, a wisp of a beard upon his chin and cheeks. His Armour and weapons are inherited from his father, well-made and serviceable, and have seen much use.

EDRIC, GRIZZLED VETERAN

Though born the son of a peasant, Edric was pressed into military service during one of Nemedia’s wars with its neighbors. During this pageant of battle, he became a skilled fighter, eventually mustering out and joining a mercenary company made up of Nemedian and Brythunian veterans. Edric has gone where the gold is, a road that has led him to the border between Pictland and Aquilonia.

Edric is of average height and has short-cropped brown hair, hazel eyes, and a slight beard. He is rangy and compact, some visible scars hinting at his past. His Armour and weapons are those of a seasoned warrior — a display of competence rather than glory.

LUCINA, BRAVE HERDER

Born in the Westermark, the region running between the Black River and Aquilonia, Lucina has seen the steady increase of settlements and the traffic of Aquilonia’s advance into Pictish territory. She has also seen firsthand the effects of the Pict’s response, a trespass met with blood and fire. Trained in herbalism and a tradition of magical arts by her mother — a hedge witch — Lucina knows a few tricks and has used them to keep herself and her flock alive.

She is tall, willowy and has reddish-brown hair which she braids to keep from catching in branches. Her clothes are common to the folk of the Westermarck, browns and green with a quilted tunic.

PETRUS, CURIOUS NOBLE

The youngest son of a wealthy Aquilonian family, Petrus came into his inheritance just as his elder siblings finished gambling it away. With little to his name, he set off to the Westermark and the Bossonian Marches, where King Numedides of Aquilonia is giving away land to his barons. Though trained in the ways of war, Petrus is far more suited as a diplomat and a leader. Mitra willing, he will command a noble house one day, perhaps as a baron or greater. Currently, Petrus has found employ as hired mercenary at the edge of Pictland.

Petrus is just out of his teens, and is tall, of average build, with dark, curly hair and brown eyes. His war-gear is wellmade, and bears his family crest, two hounds snarling at one another, their bodies twined in a ring.

KELLAN, THE BARBARIAN

A rough and uncivilized Cimmerian hillman from the southern reaches of his land, Kellan sought adventure, inspired by the tales told by the Aquilonian renegades that tried (unsuccessfully) to recruit his folk to their cause. His village was destroyed by the forces of King Vilerus, and he barely survived, the bitter memory driving him southward in search of revenge.

Like most of his kin, Kellan is tall and broad-muscled, light-eyed, dark-haired, and dark of complexion. His garments are rough, in the fashion of the rugged hillfolk from which he came.

M’TANGA NEDJA, PIRATE

A corsair of the Black Kingdoms, M’tanga was once a prince, but was exiled by an elder brother who claimed the crown. Thrown into poverty, M’tanga roved up and down the coast, eventually becoming a sailor and then later a pirate. He has won kings’ bounties and squandered them just as easily. Currently he is a pirate without a ship.

M’tanga is tall, muscular, and bald. He cuts a roguish figure, clad in tattered finery
from a variety of ports.

A hardy native of the Bossonian Marches, Hypatia grew up always alert to an attack by the forest-dwellers out of Pictland. She was conscripted from an early age into the Aquilonian military and spent years serving such unworthy masters. After a flood almost killed her regiment, she mustered out, seeking adventure. Years of near-poverty have left her eager to reverse her fortunes.

Hypatia is tall and sturdy, with light brown hair and grey eyes, her gear well-made and practical.

Born in northern Aquilonia on the border of the Khauran. Papius spent much of his youth in Cimmeria, his father a lesser noble trying to recruit the surly hillmen to fight alongside him in revolt against King Vilerus. After his family’s estate was seized by the cruel king, Varro took knightly orders and roamed throughout the land.

Varro is tall and brown-haired, with grey eyes and strong jaw, a model of Aquilonian gentry.

Daughter of a great Keshani warlord, Chanya spent her childhood in military camps, the tools of war her playthings. Throughout her entire life, she strove to impress her father enough that he might make her a part of his private war-band. This was not to be, as he was betrayed by a treacherous king, and his troop ambushed while they guested in a royal hall. Chanya escaped, a vow of vengeance upon her lips. She since travelled throughout the Black Kingdoms, Darfar, Kush, Stygia, and even Shem, selling her spear to those who would pay its price.

ULRIKE, BRYTHUNIAN SCOUNDREL

Born in rural, idyllic Brythunia, Ulrike’s family were outcastes, driven from the towns for their religious beliefs. While most worshipped Mitra, they hewed to the old ways, the worship of Bori, father of the Hyborian peoples. However, she found the life of a farmer boring beyond comprehension, and fled at an early age, joining a group of bandits and learning their ways. Through circumstances too complicated to describe, she found herself briefly in the court of one of Brythunia’s provincial rulers, and left a trail of blood on her way out. She put Brythunia at her back, all the better, for she is wanted there for her crimes.

HAZIR, ZAMORIAN CUTPURSE

Born in a brothel and turned out when he had reached an age where he was able to fend for himself, Hazir joined the street gangs of Zamora the Accursed, where every day was a test of wits and resourcefulness to survive. Trained in sleight-of-hand and pick-pocketing, Hazir manages to scrape by — if barely — and has joined a group of thieves for one big score.

Like most Zamorians, Hazir is dark of hair and eyes, sleight of build. He has a wide smile and a fringe beard, and wears nondescript clothing to blend in with any crowd.

NATARA, ZAMORIAN ROGUE

Natara had her life planned by her parents: apprenticeship in the family trade in Shadizar, working for her lecherous uncle, and an arranged marriage with the scion of business partners. Her opinion on this was inconsequential. What her parents didn’t expect was that Natara had a mind of her own. She stole her own dowry and made her way to Zamora. Since then, she’s become a charming scoundrel, a grifter, and a swindler, using her charm and quick wits to part the unwary from their gold. She’s thrown her lot in with this crew to make one big heist that will set her up for years.

Natara is dark-haired and brown-eyed, with a thick mane of hair. She wears fine clothing, best to convince others that she’s a person of means and has no need of their money.

LOTHAR, KOTHIAN BRUTE

Life in a border village in northern Koth was comfortable, if dull. There was little to do but farm and drink with whatever the king’s tax-men left. And drink Lothar did in quantity. One day, when Lothar was deep in his cups, the tax-man said the wrong thing, and after that, Lothar was an exile and an outlaw, forced to survive by banditry. He made his way along the northern mountains, preying on merchant caravans, until he reached Zamora, where his strength and size are assets. He has thrown in with a local band of thieves seeking some muscle for a big score.

Lothar is a strapping son of the countryside, broad of shoulder and arm, with light brown hair and dark green eyes. His garb is rough-spun linen and leather, well-worn and stained from the prior owners.

Born in Turan, Zehra had little choice in life, conscripted as a child into King Yildiz’ great army, hell-bent on expanding Turan’s borders across the steppes into Zamora, and eventually the dreaming west. A horse archer, her company was ambushed by Gunderland mercenaries while camped. Zehra escaped and made her way to Zamora, her fate finally her own. She has joined with a crew of thieves seeking to make names for themselves with a daring raid. Perhaps this will be the gate to a better life.

Zehra has dark skin and deep brown eyes, black hair worn coiled and braided. Her cavalry garments are well-cared for and show the distinctive patterning of her homeland.

HAAKON, AESIR OUTLANDER

Captured as a child by Hyperborean slavers, Haakon endured a brutal life of servitude and punishment, forced to labor in their quarries. One day his master noticed the breadth of his shoulders and the fire that had not faded from his bright blue eyes, and Haakon was taken to the fighting pits, learning the arts of combat and death, pitted against other slaves and professional fighters. Whether quarry or pit — a cage was a cage — and Haakon escaped, strangling his master and making his way south, the ways of the city to his liking. Newly arrived in Zamora, he has thrown his lot in with a group of thieves, which is enough for now.

Haakon is a son of Asgard, tall and pale-skinned, with bright blue eyes and a blonde beard. His clothes and armor are newly purchased and fine, and he is quite proud of them.

ATALLUS, NEMEDIAN ADVENTURER

Born to a noble estate in Nemedia, Veleda was trained in etiquette and courtesy, towards a political marriage. Her twin brother Atallus was the heir. Her joy was swordplay, though, taught by a friendly guard-captain. When plague killed her family, Veleda tried to keep her estate by posing as her dead brother Atalus. The ruse was successful, but she was betrayed, and rivals seized her family’s “heirless” estate. Veleda fled and continued the ruse, earning a place among other landless knights and mercenaries in the Nemedian Adventurers. “Atallus” has returned to Zamora, hoping to earn enough to take back was stolen from her.

Slender and handsome, with a mop of short curly hair and green eyes, “Atallus” wears well-made garments and war-gear befitting status as an Adventurer.

XANTHES, ZAMORIAN PRIEST OF THE SPIDER GOD

Xanthes began life as gutter-urchin, sleeping in alleys, abandoned by the world. Every day was a desperate gamble —could he steal enough to survive, and would he wake the next morning? One day, as a parade of the Spider God’s disciples distracted the market vendors, Xanthes tryed to steal a pomegranate. He was caught, and a market guard made to hack off his hand for thievery. A Spider priest intervened, taking Xanthes to serve in the temple. He eventually became an acolyte. He learned the Spider God’s ways, and is now a fervent believer. He has come to Zamora to spread the word of his god, and to show the Bel-worshippers a thing or two about thieving.

Pot-bellied but possessing a surprising quickness, Xanthes is shave-pated and short, clad in a fur-trimmed robe of black and grey. Upon the back of his head is tattooed an eight-lobed arrangement reminiscent of a spider’s eyes.
