I'd also like to make a deposit at the bank.

How does that work?  DO I just deduct the % from what I put in?  DO Ikeep track of that in my personal OOC thread?

Re: Around Town in Silverwood

OOC: This is a big post, I will try to get it in one, but if I miss something, please let me know!

Also, for the bank, please keep a record on your character sheet of how much you've deposited, minus the 10% tax (or per item fee for gems/jewelry/magic items). They are completely safe from theft while there, and you can withdraw money at any time for no fee.

The Oak and Eagle

Dead Reckoning pay to keep their lodgings, and hand out pay and bonuses to their retainers, all of whom are willing to continue employment if you'll have them.

Temple of the Sun

An acolyte tends to the wounded, as Sister Clarion nods sadly at the sight of Yor's lifeless body. "Another young life, gone too soon. I will see to the arrangements. Would you like to make any sort of memorial?"

Grey Friars' Monastery

Members of Dead Reckoning and the Adventure Whores arrive at the same time. There is an unpleasant odd odor lingering in the room, and some of the furnishings are stained green. Brother Holger explains that the vial Dead Reckoning brought in was a stink bomb trap, and that opening it to investigate set off the contents in the lab. He's not too happy about that. "I did manage to collect a small sample of the liquid, though, which I will investigate in a safer manner once the Rector has been placated. The mess and stench were quite powerful!"

The alchemist completes his transaction with the Adventure Whores, passing them four potions of healing and asking if there is anything else they require. Then he turns to the snake heads and small reptilian bodies. He examines them for some time. "Yes, I can manufacture a potion of poison from this snake venom. I think it should only take 300gp. These corpses are pocket dragons, I believe. I would like to consult with Rupert before I try to duplicate their venom, as it may have unusual effects."

Trade Bazaar

The Twins talk to several vendors, a few of whom suddenly remember pressing business in other parts of town and close down their stalls rather than purchase possibly cursed toys. One vendor, a foreign woman with ankle length black hair, golden skin, and bright green eyes, wearing a multi-layered loose garment with strategically placed slits that reveal just enough skin to entice offers to buy all of the toys for 200gp. "They will make good conversation pieces. By the way, would you handsome gentlemen be interested in a magic wand? It creates the most wondrous illusions, and has at least five charges left. It can be yours for 2500gp."

Rupert's Tower

The Party Posse request many scrolls, and Rupert frowns. "Ah, you know, I have scrolls with the sleep spell. Of course you can purchase them. Standard prices, as you know. One hundred gold each. Spells for curing wounds are beyond me, though. Have you asked at the Temple of the Sun or maybe at the Sacred Grotto? I'm not sure if old Toutates is literate or not, but he can definitely cast spells to knit wounds closed!"

An apprentice in white robes and hat brings two scrolls of sleep up from the copy room at Rupert's command.

The Oak and Eagle

That night, Dead Reckoning meet their new Elven Bard companion, and The Adventure Whores and The Party Posse share the common room with them at dinner time. Several locals watch with interest as discussions of forming a supergroup are shared among the adventurers.

Re: Around Town in Silverwood

Temple of the Sun

Zed replies "Nah.  Once you get stuffed into the barrel of inky blackness no sentiment scribed onto stone will make you fell better."

The others stared at the Dwarf.  Mortified.

Zed just grinned "Didn't know I was a philosopher, huh?"

Cyrus thanks the Sister and they leave.

Grey Friars' Monastery

Postue apologized "Sorry that this happened.  It seems the dangers of the Keep are not always constrained by its walls."

The Butcher mulls "300 gold, you say.  That much would sink me.  Keep it available, I'll be back when I have the booty for it.  Keep the pocket-lizards too.  Whatever you come up with will be better than me eating them to save cash."

Trade Bazaar

Kane takes the offered 200 gold "Interesting: a wand that blinds men to reality.  A useful tool of treachery and cowardly avoidance.  We lack the funds now, but we will kill more things.  Most which will deserve it and others that won't.  Perhaps when we have killed and explored enough we will return for the wand."

Kano stared at the woman, but as usual, said nothing.

Night at the Oak and Eagle

Melaris and Postue ask around for rumors about Yeffel having large or huge monsters within the Keep.

Cyrus rose and tapped his mug politely on the table "Excuse me, all?  It has come to my attention that perhaps our earlier offer has gained traction amongst our fellow adventurers?"

"Shall we discuss a joint delve?"

Re: Around Town in Silverwood

The Grey Friars' Monastery:

Brother Holger takes the small dragon corpses with interest, thanking them for the donation that will aid his study.

Trade Bazaar:

The woman fails to promise to keep the wand for the Twins; if another seller makes an offer for it, she will sell it. Magic item trading is a risky venture, after all.

Town Vault:

Dead Reckoning deposits their excess cash in the vault in two visits. Tallenhauser, the town tax collector, records the deposits and issues the party a letter of credit.

Temple of the Sun:

Sister Clarion's scribe brings out three scrolls of cure light wounds for the Party Posse. Each costs 100gp.

Rupert's Tower:

Rupert has scrolls of detect magic and read magic available but not of faerie fire. Rupert apologizes, "I say, I haven't had call for that one in a long time. Come back later after we've had time to scribe it."

Each scroll costs 100gp.

Rupert's Tower

Rupert nods sagely when asked about an invisibility scroll. "An excellent spell, if I do say so myself. Quite lovely. Of course, the scroll works the same as a normal spell. Once cast, you remain invisible until you attack or cast an offensive spell of some sort, or you decide to break the spell. That will be two hundred gold coins."

Grey Friar's Monastery

Brother Holger is happy to part with two potions of fire resistance for 600gp (300gp each).

Oak and Eagle

Zed Beardface kicks open the door of the Inn "It weren't no wyrm, but we bagged us two worms!"

Postue has Larry and co deposit the combined group earnings in a private room and speaks with the leaders of the Adventure Whores and Party Posse "So...by my count there's 2,200 gold and 1,000 silver.  How are we splitting it up?"

Temple of the Sun

Cyrus and Martel deliver the body of Melaris to Sister Clarion.  "We did not know him well, but he seemed I fine sort." says Cyrus.

"Please, Sister, see that he is laid to rest with honor.  He was a brave Elf." asked Martel.

Re: Around Town in Silverwood

Double post, read up please!

At night at the Oak and Eagle:
While the groups spend time discussing their deeds and parsing out the loot the door opens and a well-armed Elf with an open-faced wolf helm steps in "I seek treasure and adventure!"

Martel stands and greets the fellow "You seem like an honorable and trustworthy sort.  You are welcome to join us.  We have delved into the Keep and found treasure, glory and death aplenty."

The Elf smiles "I have heard that several bands have had success delving into Yeffal's Keep.  I would join you."

Postue sighed as he was poking through Melaris' old gear "Here, I might as well give you all this now before Martel yells at me." The thief pushed the ex-bard's gear to the newest member of Dead Reckoning.

Zed and Postue frowned at each other.  I feel like I've gone through all this before, they thought in tandem.  With a shrug they put it aside.

"I thank you, my friend, I will put this to good use.  I am Wulfgrim." said the Elf.

The group spins tales for Wulfgrim catching him up on all that has come before.  The Elven fighter drinks it all in, in silence.

Re: Around Town in Silverwood

Postue carefully counts out divisions of treasure and invites Bart and Leon to recount it.  When all parties are satisfied the remainder is used in rounds of drinks at the Oak and Eagle.

Postue and Cyrus use that time to question the revelers about the Keep.

In an attempt to make himself useful to his new compatriots Wulfgrim joins in the interrogations as well.

OOC: DR pools its money and pays out 109 gp for the hirelings and Ferdinand (1/2 share).  They rent out rooms for the night (8 gp) too before redividing their shares.

Re: Around Town in Silverwood

The Oak and Eagle

It's a lively night, especially as word gets out that the various rival groups banded together to face dragons. Despite the party's protests that the creatures were giant worm-like creatures, the townsfolks' rumors say otherwise.

Relf Blue-tooth, the local outfitter, smiles and nods at the tales of the party. "You creatures you faced are called caecillia. They look like worms but they're really giant amphibians. Like legless newts, only bigger. You lot are lucky you only lost one man against them. They are ruthless when hungry."

Temple of the Sun

Sister Clarion has her acolytes take Melaris's remains for burial. "Please take caution the next time you adventure. And may the Sun shine on your efforts."

Postue runs over to Grey Friars to see if the green potions are ready and if they figured out a value for the pocket dragon venom.

Wolfgrim and Zed divide up the treasure, pay the hired help and lug the remainder to the bank.

The Twins and Martel cast their healing spells on the group so they can leave in the morning.

Otherwise the group rests for a quick return.

NPCs paid and Inn costs too.
