Re: On the road

Hi, Just an update. The expected install on the 1st did not happen and we have now descended in the black abyss of inspections not being signed off so they have to be rescheduled for the 13th and the actual install is who knows. So sorry hopefully we will be up and running gain in a week or so.

Re: On the road

Sorry, no map today. One of the tires came off my truck last night, so I'll be dealing with that part of the morning.

Re: On the road

Given that they already tripped one trap, Gilly has had a chance to see how the trap was triggered. He will look especially carefully for that kind of trigger again.

Re: On the road

Good point. I'll apply a 10% bonus to your roll if there's such a trap in the area you're searching.

Re: On the road

I rolled for your search, but I'm waiting to post until tomorrow so others have time to get in before the Friday post. I will say you found no traps, but I'm considering this roll to only cover the first two squares of the hallway, since you folks may want to go cell by cell. In other words, Gilly, Veskard and Leleanne are now in front of the doors of cells a and d.

I'll need you folks to indicate if you're going to search the whole hallway for traps before exploring cells, or if you're going to do something with either a or d right now.

If you search the whole hallway, I'll roll for Gilly one more time. If you're going cell by cell, I'll do the same and apply the roll to all 20 feet and the arch of the next room, even though the searching will happen at different times.

If you search a cell, I'm going to limit the number of people who can enter a cell and effectively search it to four at a time.

Re: On the road

OK, I have screwed up.

There is yellow mold under that bag. And yes, I called for Gilly to make a perception check--the d20 roll was to see if you rolled less than your wisdom.

So why is there a problem? Because I read this text in the room description when I first read the module, but somehow missed it while we were playing:

Growing under and around the bag is a patch of Yellow Mold, automatically noticeable if the player character is looking out for trouble.

So I guess it's not much of a problem, because I caught it before Gilly died horribly as fungus ate his flesh. I promise to be more careful going forward.

Hi, all. I'm going to drop out of this game. Will see you around, I'm sure -- and I'd play with any of you again in the future.

I'm afraid I've decided to leave as well. It was good RPing with you all, and I hope our paths cross again in the future. Good luck with the game, and thanks to the DM for your support.

Will you mind if I recruit new players for these characters?

To be honest, Leleanne is a character I've had for a number of years, so unfortunately I don't feel comfortable with someone else playing her. Sorry about that.

Re: On the road

I completely understand. Just keep in mind I will have to NPC her until the party leaves the dungeon. Then we'll "put her on a bus" and recruit a new cleric.

Re: On the road

You can assign someone new to Carnalore without any concerns on my end. May she live 1,000 years. (You can also drop in a new character as though they'd always been there! I wouldn't wait to leave, necessarily, but that's your call.)

Re: On the road

So, we went past the cells and came to a room at the end of the corridor that was the torture chamber, right? Just that the map ends there.

Rather than going back to room 1, how about we go back past the cells and hang a left towards the steps?

Do they go up or down?

Re: On the road

Down.

I'll update the map but basically the torture room is kind of a modified round shape and has no exits
