"Of course they didn't have the decency to leave us a single medpac," glowers the cloaked figure, holding up a brown, leather boot, before tossing it aside.

Sora isn't having much more luck.

"They didn't leave much for us, did they?" he agrees, examining a broken glow rod.

After a minute or so of further searching, the pair return to Bane and continue down the corridor. They have gone barely a dozen meters when the sound of padding feet reaches their ears from around the corner ahead of them.

“Hide!” Sora hisses, guesturing to an overturned crate. The pair quickly stagger over to it, plonking Bane uncermoniously behind it and crouching beside him.

A quartet of the all too familiar creatures turn the corner up ahead. They seem to be debating which way to take, when all of a sudden one gives a squeak, pointing in the direction of the crate, from behind which an incredibly weequay-sized Jedi boot protrudes. Too late the boot attempts to scoot out of sight behind the crate.

"Remind me not to share a hiding place with you in future," mutters the cloaked figure's voice from behind the crate.

There is an obstinate silence in response, before Sora leaps up and fires, using Bane’s rifle, and manages to down one of the creatures. The remaining three fall back to the corner, crouching for cover.

OOC: Sora Bulq dealt 13 points of wound damage to Utai Guardsman.

The creatures blasts back at Sora, who is able to duck behind the crate before their blasts can strike him.

The cloaked figure fires from the side of the crate, but his blasts do nothing but scorch the wall of the corridor several meters in front of the creatures.

Sora leaps up and fires once more. His blast strikes a second creature, and it collapses.

"I think I'm getting the hang of-"

His words are cut short as a blast from one of the remaining creatures strikes him squarely in the chest. He collapses backwards on top of Bane.

"Had to say it, didn't you?" mutters the cloaked figure to Sora’s unconscious form, tossing aside his pistol and picking up the rifle. He then fires, but his blast again does not come close to striking either of the creatures.

The answering blasts from the creatures are no more accurate.

"This really is a piece of rubbish," the figure mutters to himself as once more his blast flies wide.

Even as he speaks, a blast from one of creatures passes a centimetre from his right ear. A second blast from it’s companion strikes his left rib cage, and only the armor beneath his cloak stops him from being knocked out instantly.

Dropping the rifle, the cloaked figure crouches with his back to the crate, breathing hard.

The creatures fire a couple more shots at the crate. However, when it becomes apparent that the cloaked figure has no intention of showing himself, the pair cautiously advance, blasters raised.

The cloaked figure rises suddenly, right arm outstretched, when the pair are no more than two meters from the crate. The leftmost creature freezes, eyes wide with horror as its skin begins to shrivel and bruise. Its body goes limp, and the horrified look transforms into blankness as the creature collapses. Once again the cloaked figure seems to revive somewhat, breathing quickly.

The remaining creature's eyes widen in terror as it watches its companion collapse. But it seems to realise running will do it little good, given the cloaked figure's comparative size. It fires wildly at the figure.

Moving swiftly, the cloaked figure snatches up Sora's lightsaber from the weequay's belt. He then leaps at the creature, impaling it in a single stroke. He stands for a moment longer, lightsaber ignited and breathing quickly as the creature collapses. At length he switches off the blue-hued blade and crouches to search the creatures, finding four medpacs. As the bacta fluid is already pulsing through Sora's system, he heaves the weequay to the side to get to Bane. He manages to strike a vein on his first attempt, and the mercenary awakens with a jolt.

Bane glances about the corridor.

"Wait, there's something different about this room..."

"Where is your ship?" the cloaked figure asks briskly, heaving Sora over his shoulders with some difficulty.

"This way," Bane replies evasively, lifting himself up groggily and beginning to stumble off down the corridor once more.

The pair continue to make their way out of the facility, Bane leading the way. It is not far, and they meet no further squads of the creatures. The door at the entrance stands open when they arrive. The cloaked figure gets a glimpse of an industrial looking city outside, built into the sides of a giant, rocky sinkhole. Outside, they notice that a barrier has been set up at the entrance, and a dozen of the stumpy creatures stand about, discussing with each other and occasionally gesturing to the entrance. Even as Bane and the cloaked figure watch, the creatures are joined by a squad of four taller aliens, almost two meters in height, wearing red battle armor and carrying some sort of blasters crossed with axes.

"Blast," mutters Bane, "They've got the entire area locked down. Well, we won't be getting out that way. Change of plan. You still have that lightsaber?"
