An indignant beep from down the corridor suggest that his comment has been detected by R5's audioreceptors.

"All right," says Bane, igniting the engine and raising the boarding ramp, "Let's get off this rock."

As the ship lifts off the platform and into the sky, Zirak turns to Sora coolly.

"Eat me, Sora, and I will punch you."

Sora opens his mouth to protest, but seems to see this as a fruitless exercise.

"I'll be in my quarters," he informs them, turning and trudging off down the corridor.

Bane directs the ship through the atmosphere, and they are once more met with the starry expanse of space. R5 sets the hyperspace coordinates of the Ruul and the hyperdrive activates. The stars about them blur into lines, and soon they are traveling down the blue corridor of hyperspace once more. The first few hours of the journey pass without incident, until that evening, when Zirak and Sora are in the middle of sparring practice with their lightsabers.

Zirak is the process of beating a sweating Sora back across the storage bay when the weequay begins to tremble and palpitate. In a sudden, uncontrolled motion he stretches out his hand towards Zirak, a dark energy taking form about him.

The dark energy moves towards Zirak, who swiftly raises his own hand, halting it. It hangs for a few moments between their two, trembling outstretched arms, before dissipating as swiftly as it formed. The pair fall back, panting hard. Zirak has sent Sora the foulest look he can possibly muster, before advancing and punching him squarely on the jaw.

OOC: Zirak Derasir dealt 12 points of vitality damage to Sora Bulq.

The unfortunate Sora has staggered backwards, tripped over a crate, and crashed to the floor beyond.

"Perhaps next time you will consider eating someone who is not me?" Zirak sneers, not offering to help him up.

Sora sighs, but makes no attempt to argue that this is undeserved.

"This is the second time you have targeted me when you have lost control of your hunger," Zirak continues, his tone a mixture of annoyance and accusatory, "I begin to think you prefer the idea of husking me to husking random thugs trying to murder us."

"I do not," Sora replies wearily, picking himself up from the floor, "I... I just want to control... this!" He gestures to himself helplessly.

"You seem to manage it well enough when I am not around to be fed on," Zirak sniffs.

"It is unfortunate timing," agrees Sora.

"Well," Zirak says, "I think I have had enough of you for one evening, Sora. I will spar more with you tomorrow. And I suggest that tomorrow, you eat Sella, not me. Because that is who I will be feeding on."

With this, Zirak stalks off to sulk with R5.

Later that evening, Zirak's meditations are interrupted by the sound of approaching feet. Sora enters a moment later and plonks himself, cross-legged, beside Zirak.

"Can I ask you something?" he says.

"What is it?" Zirak says, cracking an eye open to glare balefully.

"Do you enjoy draining people?"

"Are you here to lecture me on my nonexistent morals?"

"I am not here to lecture you. I just want to understand you better."

"Fine. I enjoy eating my enemies. I enjoy it less when I accidentally eat Bane."

"Do you have to keep referring to it as 'eating'?" Sora asks.

"I feel a hunger inside me, which their life force satisfies," Zirak responds, "Therefore 'eating' seems to be the most accurate expression."

Sora frowns, but shrugs.

"I can certainly agree I would rather drain my enemies than my friends. But let me ask you; if you had the choice not to feel this hunger at all, and instead killed your enemies with say your lightsaber or a blaster, and had no danger of draining your friends by accident, would you choose to be rid of it?"

"That depends," Zirak replies slowly, "Feeding on my enemies is very useful when I am fighting since it revitalises me while draining them. It's much cheaper than medpacs."
