Re: The Thornton-Curry Saloon (OOC Thread)

The way I figure it, KK knows someone shot at her, figures the explosion killed a couple but possibly not all, and knows the best way to get a sniper is to flush them out.  A Notice roll is probably the best way to resolve things.

Albert Cooper:
Did Tamsin make the ride out with us?

I ask because there are several people that seem like they could use her skills right about now.

Officially, no, but I’m here, so... -shrug-

Re: The Thornton-Curry Saloon (OOC Thread)

I’ve got no issue with “retconning” River’s presence with the group. For sake of her current position in Blazer’s Mill, we could say that she moved into the restaurant moments after the dynamite detonated.

So, was rereading Suppressing Fire, since I have this fancy pistol...

Everyone makes a Spirit check.  Horses too?  I would guess so, but never thought of autofire in a charging horsemen situation till just now....  Deadlands, amirite?

Likewise, though she's at the bottom of the round, clarifying where Kansas Kate is in relation to the other parties beforehand will help me resolve her action faster when it comes up!

Re: The Thornton-Curry Saloon (OOC Thread)

My presumption is that Cooper is grouped in with the majority of the Regulators at the moment, and is on the porch of the restaurant, which would provide him with light cover. A move action would take him inside the building, or around the side of it which would place him in medium cover.

As I have it pictured, Kate is at the eastern side of the restaurant, so if she wanted to start shooting, she could do so from the corner of the building, which would likewise give her medium cover.

Re: The Thornton-Curry Saloon (OOC Thread)

Ranger, I’m working on the assumption that you joined the others in seeking cover inside the restaurant.

For those wondering, the restaurant can still be vacated either through one of the front windows or through the back door.

Sorry for the tremendous delay; I've thrown in a post but looks like it posted just after you posted the next round. Sending a PM.

Is Double K aware that:

1.  Dolan is there?
2.  That he went back 'round the general store?

Well, depending on how close she is she might have heard Lee and, she will be potentially aware of these developments now.

Re: The Thornton-Curry Saloon (OOC Thread)

As far as Kate seeing Dolan move behind the general store, while I’m certain that at least some members of the group inside the restaurant would have observed the direction he rode, with Kate at the corner of the building, I’m not as sure, especially if she ducked back to avoid any gunfire.

She would certainly have heard Lee’s challenge, however. So at the very least, that would have informed her of Dolan’s location. If you want to give me a Notice roll, a success would confirm that Kate saw both Dolan and Evans’ movements.

Re: The Thornton-Curry Saloon (OOC Thread)

That's fair.

18:49, Today: Kansas Kate rolled 2,4 using d6,d6, rerolling max with rolls of 2,4.  Notice.

Would she be in any position to take a shot, if yes I'll roll and post, if not I'll just say she Runs and that'll be that.

Re: The Thornton-Curry Saloon (OOC Thread)

Shooting at Dolan? Yes, a move action would take her into the alleyway behind the restaurant. At this stage, I’d say he’s level with the blacksmith shop, so a shot with a pistol would probably be at medium range.

That said, I want to be up front with you, Ranger Lee. If Kate starts blasting at him, it’s not especially realistic for Dolan to sit there discussing his plans for Lincoln County, or arguing how he hasn’t broken a single law, while live rounds are headed his way, so I’ll need to work out just how that card comes into play. If I can’t iron that out satisfactorily, I’ll let you hang onto it or draw another, your choice.

With that notice, Kate would be aware of both Evans’ and Dalton’s position. She could move to take a shot at Dalton this round, if she chooses. To get to Evans, she would need to head down the street toward the general store. If she chose the latter, she would have a clear shot at the one remaining rider from Evans’ gang that remains outside of cover. Or, she could take a crack at those clustered behind the house (medium cover).

Bah!  Sorry everyone, I was going to update yesterday afternoon but everything got away from me.

On the plus side, I just found out I've passed a ridiculously hard exam so I'm on cloud nine right now

Taking the CPA Exam, which, without going into details no one should care about, is a series of ridiculous never ending exams.

My reward for passing the last one is now I have to buckle down and start on the next one... sigh

Oh and edit because I'm an idiot, appreciate the congrats everybody

Re: The Thornton-Curry Saloon (OOC Thread)

As luck would have it, I played the Inspiration card on a round where most PCs and allied NPCs elected not to roll anything lol.

Marshal, is Dolan dealt into the round? I didnt see his name on the list.
