Re: The Thornton-Curry Saloon (OOC Thread)

Marshal:
I’m not going to move forward with any experience awards until after night has come and gone from Capitan Pass. However, everyone should be holding at least five chips, not counting the most recent Chip you drew for the Black Joker. If you don’t have the five, make sure you draw up to your complement. You also have the option of discarding and redrawing any chips you’d care to. Please make sure to report your results in the Fate Chips thread.

Based on the feedback I have, I’m setting the overnight watch as follows. Each shift lasts two hours, beginning at 10 p.m.

  • 10 pm to 12 am: Aileen Kearney
  • 12 am to 2 am: Lena Bauer
  • 2 am to 4 am: Kansas Kate
  • 4 am to 6 am: Shabbakasha

As the primary guide, Andrew Roberts will rest.

The default assumption is that any character not on watch duty will be sound asleep, unless it’s specified to me that they will be doing something during one or more of the watch shifts.

Jacinta doesn't sleep much, either, so she'd be up during one of these shifts.  Stick her wherever you like.

Re: The Thornton-Curry Saloon (OOC Thread)

I think two people on watch per shift makes sense.  And, being mad, sleeps oddly anyway.

So, Wayland will take the other shift.

How about, Wayland on the first shift with Kearney.  I'll get to use my Night Vision Goggles!!

Then Jacinta with Bauer?

That leaves KK with Cooper and Tamsin with Shabba...Shabbakasha.  That's a tough one.

Re: The Thornton-Curry Saloon (OOC Thread)

Okay, based on further input, here is how I have the watch schedule now:

  • 10 pm to 12 am: Dr. Ezekiel Wayland and Aileen Kearney
  • 12 am to 2 am: Jacinta Castillo and Lena Bauer
  • 2 am to 4 am: Albert Cooper and Kansas Kate
  • 4 am to 6 am: Tamsin River and Shabbakasha

Bryan Lee and Andrew Roberts intend to sleep through the night. They’ll also be the one most likely to be eaten if something monstrous turns up at the campsite.

I’ll update the game shortly in light of this information.

Yeah, when in doubt just go with the English translation, ”Roving Wolf”. It’s easier. :)

Or, you can imitate Kansas Kate and just call him anything with “Wolf” inserted somewhere in the name. He generally seems to answer.

Re: The Thornton-Curry Saloon (OOC Thread)

If there is any discussion that needs to take place in response to Murphy’s visit, I can leave the current scene open to accommodate it. If not, please let me know and I can move things forward to morning.

Either way, everyone kindly provide me a card draw. A single card, just as though you were drawing for initiative.

Re: The Thornton-Curry Saloon (OOC Thread)

So, I’ve been into songwriting lately, and I like to have whoever inspired the song listen to it first, which is all of you, so as rough as it is (kind of fits with the setting though):

Wow. I've never taken part in a game that inspired songcraft. Thank you for sharing that, Tamsin. It's fantastic.

I honestly expected the last line to be "on the trail that we rode" for some reason... though that doesn't actually rhyme

You know, it would really bring this campaign full circle if KK (standing in for the Reverend) started banging on the back door while Bryan sneaks up to the front porch.

Re: The Thornton-Curry Saloon (OOC Thread)

A request: I’m very aware that many of us (self included) have a lot going on right now. That said, I’ve noticed that posting in this game has slowed considerably. I’m content to move at a slower pace if that’s what is dictated by everyone’s circumstances. But, this hobby is intended to be a source of enjoyment, not an obligation that adds to the stressors each of us is already facing. So, if it’s better to put High Lonesome on hold, or to bring it to a close, I’m assuredly open to that, if it is what the majority needs.

With that said, if I could ask for a roll call of those present, along with an indication regarding how you would like to proceed, it would be very helpful. Please be honest with your feedback. In the end, I want to move forward in a way that best serves everyone who’s still taking part.

Thanks.

Re: The Thornton-Curry Saloon (OOC Thread)

As you said, I’ve had a LOT going on. However, I should free up a bit starting Wednesday as all my month end and quarter end deadlines will have passed, plus much of the extra work I’m doing due to COVID-19 also needs to wrap in the next day or two.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this game and definitely will be increasing posting length, quality, and frequency in coming days.

I'm definitely still around.  Getting over my latest bout of sickness, which has slowed things down for me, but slowly getting better.  As I'll be working from home more in the coming weeks, I'll have more time to play.

Re: The Thornton-Curry Saloon (OOC Thread)

I’m happy to keep going if everyone else is.

I’m on a temporary lay off so I have time; my family is still trying to adapt to being stuck at home all together but we’re getting there. In terms of posting, I’ll admit Tamsin specifically has been a weirdly difficult character for me but I still love logging in to see if anything’s been posted here.

Re: The Thornton-Curry Saloon (OOC Thread)

I've got a lot going on these days, but this is a game that I am still very interested/invested in. If it is needed, I'll go along with whatever but I think things have calmed down a bit work wise recently so I can contribute more regularly than I have been.

I appreciate everyone taking the time to respond, and for your support of the game. As everyone has expressed an interest in continuing, I’ll do my best to get a new post up this evening, moving the posse further up the mountain.

Thanks again to each of you for taking part.

Re: The Thornton-Curry Saloon (OOC Thread)

My apologies, everyone. I had a spike in work related concerns that over took me during the past week and weekend, which led to me being a bit slow here. Fortunately, everything has settled down now. I should be back to posting regularly from this point forward. Again, sorry for the delay.

Whenever I roll doubles, I want to "split" like in Blackjack.
