LOL oh be careful what you wish for

This is gonna be hilarious

I will strap on my helmet and prepare.

Also - did Albert have time to make new bullets? As I mentioned, folk are going to have to waste the old ones first.

Definitely. It's almost a two day ride back to Lincoln from High Lonesome. Cooper will have had ample time to carve as many bullets as needed.

Well, I get to give gifts to all the ladies in the posse this time.

Enjoy yer bullets, gals.

Tamsin, for the bullet you had, we need to assume you fired it into the dirt or the air during the couple days of downtime. Your choice. Though if you shot it into the air, I hope you sad 'yee haw' while doing so.

Dr. Wayland is on his horse near Jacinta, Tamsin, and Kate.  Maybe Aileen too...  What about Roberts and his indigenous allies?

Al, Bauer, and Bryan were over jawing with the new Sheriff, I believe.

I hope I didn't miss anyone....

Re: The Thornton-Curry Saloon (OOC Thread)

The obvious place to make contact with the Regulators would be at the Tunstall-McSween Ranch. Those making the ride there could easily stop to speak with Henry Cooper, as his place is along the way.

Are all of the riders headed there, or are any planning to go with Andrew Roberts and Shabbakasha? Or, is there some other, as yet unmentioned errand that any of you would like to attend to?

If folk are okay making the slight detour to the Cooper ranch, Albert will join the posse heading to the Tunstall-McSween ranch.

Dr. Wayland had a mind do gather some explosive materials in town...

I could easily see him doing so and/or providing backup to Kate's duel-seeking?

Kansas Kate:

It’s possible that I’m being obtuse, so I’m double checking before I post anything. Is Kansas Kate intending to walk over to Murphy’s Store, where Kinney was last seen, and see if she can stir up trouble there, including potentially calling the outlaw leader out? Do I have that correct?

Well, here’s the thing. The most likely establishment to have any dynamite on hand, given the control that its owner exerts over the county, is Murphy’s store. Wayland hasn’t been in the area as long as the rest of the posse has been, so it’s possible that the workers there might be willing to sell him some, being unaware of his loyalties. However, I don’t know how inclined they might be to sell any to him if he’s in the company of someone who’s trying to start a gunfight with one of its protectors.

That said, if the good doctor wanted to inquire with one of the other stores, such as the Tunstall Store or the Montano Store, there’s always the chance that they might know of some that had been hidden away, or kept in reserve for the day when some special need might arise.

All valid points.

Was mostly thinking Kate would need back up.

Of course, this does sound like the perfect opportunity to use Disguises!
Let's clear up Kate's violent intentions first though.

Yes.  I brought it up OOC in case that's a problem for OOC reasons, but realistically punching a few holes in Murphy's forces is probably a decent idea.

Bryan Lee:
"Kate, while we don't anticipate that Murphy will be going along quietly when we attempt to apprehend him for his crimes, I'm gonna need you to hold off on any notions of gunfighting in the streets where men, women, and children live and where stray bullets can cost lives," he said firmly.

"I don't want to be mistaken as endorsing any sort of vigilante justice here. We're doing things under the auspices of the law. I don't care what history you have with this Kinney character. If that's the path you're taking, then you'll be on your own hook where the law is concerned, and bear in mind you've just stated your intentions of killing a man in front of the duly appointed sheriff, one of his deputies, a Texas Ranger, and a host of witnesses. Calling him out for a duel like a character in a dime novel might sound good, but it won't end up well. Put down your feud for a moment and stick with us. I have little doubt you'll have a chance at Kinney when we head to Murphy's place, and if he doesn't show there or gets away, I promise to apprehend him afterwards -- and you can come along for the ride."

This is what I'm talking about.  If I can't call people out to duels, I'm sort of worthless.

Re: The Thornton-Curry Saloon (OOC Thread)

I understand your reasons for KK's approach. Lee just had to say something because KK effectively just said, "I'm going to go walk across the street and murder somebody. See you later Ranger, sheriff!"

EDIT: Post Garrett's statement, it seems her approach is mostly sanctioned as long as strays don't hit bystanders.

Carry on!

Re: The Thornton-Curry Saloon (OOC Thread)

Okay, this is my understanding thus far:

  • Lee and Cooper intend to ride out to Henry Cooper’s ranch and then to the Tunstall-McSween spread in search of potential allies. Lee specifically wants to speak with the Regulators. Bauer will ride along with them.
  • Kansas Kate means to step over to the Murphy Store in hopes of killing John Kinney or one of his partisans. Dr. Wayland is considering accompanying her as backup, and to see if he can purchase some dynamite somewhere along the way.
  • Andrew Roberts and Shabbakasha are going to ride north into the foothills in hopes of wrangling a few of Roberts’ Mescalero allies for the fight against Murphy.
  • Kearney intends to hunt down fresh mounts for any who might need them.

That’s what I know now. If you haven’t yet let me know where you’re headed, please do. If I have anything wrong, be sure to correct me.

Once I’ve confirmed everyone’s chosen destinations, I’ll put the appropriate threads together.

Yeah and I understand that, it would be weird if you all were just completely okay with it IC.  I just wanted to make it clear OOC KK is actually trying to use her unique combination of Edges to help.  It could be misinterpreted if I'm not careful is all.
