The official answer from the city is that the water can be used for bathing and showering....just don’t get any in your mouth.

We aren't under a boil order anymore, but the water doesn't taste great so...I'm not gonna drink it for awhile.

I have got to get out of Texas (again).

If you want good water...move to Louisville. I recall there being some health benefits of the limestone there.

If you want hard water that leaves  all kinds of hard to scrub deposits, move to East Tennessee.

Dunno why you would, of course....  I just wanted to contribute....

And if you want soft water, move to British Columbia. 0.3 grains per gallon is about average for Vancouver, and the surrounding area is similar.

Can Lee/KK hear any of Kinney's speech from the side room?

Re: The Thornton-Curry Saloon (OOC Thread)

Kinney’s voice would be audible, but likely muffled. It would be difficult for either of them to make out precisely what he’s said, though both would immediately recognize that it was an unfamiliar voice that was speaking. It’s apparent that his tone is serious, but not hostile.

Additionally, by virtue of their position, both would have easily heard the footsteps of Kinney and his men as they walked onto the landing.

In anticipation of a question: If Kansas Kate and Lee move back toward the entry immediately after dealing with Crawford, they will hear the great majority of what Kinney (and Billy the Kid) have just said.

Re: The Thornton-Curry Saloon (OOC Thread)

In light of what is ahead, I feel an obligation to enact a brief pause for a small amount of bookkeeping.

Before anyone proceeds upstairs:
  • If you are not carrying at least five fate chips, please go ahead and draw up to your limit. You do have option of discarding any chips in your hand and redrawing as well.
  • If you want to discard any Adventure Cards and make a new draw, you may do so at this time. You should hold a total of four cards. You may also take the opportunity to trade cards with your fellow posse members.
  • If there are any specific preparations anyone wishes to make prior to seeking out Lawrence Murphy, please make note of such either here or in the A Heart of Thorns thread.

Re: The Thornton-Curry Saloon (OOC Thread)

The Marshal has kindly allowed me to post up a quick advertisement for another game:

link to another game

I'm running a leisurely paced Hell on Earth Reloaded game on RPOL.  I had a player needing to pause gaming for RL reasons and it made me realize we are in a good place to add new folks.

If anyone wants to drop in, look around, and possibly join up.  Let me know!

Weird!  I checked through the options.  Made one option adjustment.  Try again?

Have you watched any Mad Max movie recently? If not, access for post apocalyptic games might be insufficient

I got in and am able to poke around now.

And it's been a few years since I watched Fury Road, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I may want to do so again soon.

Re: The Thornton-Curry Saloon (OOC Thread)

I think the 'Power Surge' adventure card looks like it is written for the version of AB's that don't use power points (rather they use the penalty to the roll method)? Maybe I'm wrong, but I suspect there might be another version of it that references power points instead of ignoring a penalty.

Re: The Thornton-Curry Saloon (OOC Thread)

For some reason, I had interpreted Power Surge to come into play against penalties incurred to maintain arcane powers, but as it doesn’t explicitly say that, I may be entirely off the mark.

Kansas Kate, if you’d prefer, I’ve no objection to you redrawing that particular card.

Will do.

I just assumed it was some obscure mechanic for one of those "splatbook" Arcane Backgrounds I'm not as familiar with.

Re: The Thornton-Curry Saloon (OOC Thread)

If there isn’t any further business, I’ll go ahead and transition the scene to the upper floor of the ranch house.

Miss River, I’m going to move forward on the idea that you’ve treated the other individuals who are injured before the posse ascends the stairs. Josiah Scurlock and Thomas Horn are the only ones who will refuse your assistance.

Kansas Kate, one of the more knowledgeable folks here has clarified that in its original form, which I neglected to post when I put together the Adventure Card listing for High Lonesome, the Power Surge card will allow the user to immediately restore all of their used power points. That doesn’t help you, but if one of your arcane fueled companions is willing to trade you for something helpful, you can certainly hang on to it, if you choose.

Re: The Thornton-Curry Saloon (OOC Thread)

Maybe I'm not reading it right...

The room is filled with plants, except for a small tunnel-path for one person to the left side?  This was my assumption.

Or do you need to hack through to get to the tunnel path first?
