Same to you!

Alright, here's to hoping that Tamsin River has a bullet with either of their names on it because they've got Aces.

Forgot to ask: Is Mystery Man also a Martial Artist like both Barcelo and Chambers?

Re: The Thornton-Curry Saloon (OOC Thread)

Barcelo is a huckster.

Chambers is a martial artist.

Mystery man is dressed like a range hand, complete with dust encrusted denim and a gun belt with a Peacemaker and Bowie knife. There’s nothing that would mark him as a trained bare handed fighter, though he probably has some idea of how to use the knife he possesses.

Re: The Thornton-Curry Saloon (OOC Thread)

We will need it, I think. Multiple attacks help, cause sometimes you'll whiff one or two, or they won't do much. If you roll enough times, you might crazy explode a couple of times.

Sorry for the wait! We had a windstorm that knocked power out in my area for a few days.

Can Tamsin see Bauer from her position?

We’re good again... for now. Supposedly we’re getting our first bit of winter weather later this week. It won’t change a lot for me, but it’s still a pain.

I loved this little bit of Dr. Wayland's latest post:

Dr. Ezekiel Q. Wayland:
He wasn't that kind of doctor.  His was a more aggressive practice.

Yes. The only caveat being that if she tosses a 1 on a Shooting die, Tamsin River is kneeling over the wounded Lena Bauer in the background.

Re: The Thornton-Curry Saloon (OOC Thread)

Dr. Wayland, you forgot to add the +2 Joker bonus to your trait rolls that turn.

So adding it to your Agility roll to resist the Entanglement would take you up to a 13, which would beat the 12. Then you wouldn't be at a -2 to your attack roll, etc.

Re: The Thornton-Curry Saloon (OOC Thread)

My Agility roll to resist, I feel, would be on the previous turn.  So I would not get the +2 as that would happen the following turn.

Unless, of course, the GM feels differently...

Consider the spell text:
quote:
Each following action, an entangled target may make a Strength or Agility roll to break free

(Emphasis added).

Seems to imply the resist is on your action.

This is how I had interpreted the rules surrounding the power as well. I’ve updated the rolls (not the narrative) in the good doctor’s post to reflect him successfully pulling free of the restraint, as well as the absence of any penalty on his attack roll.

Re: The Thornton-Curry Saloon (OOC Thread)

I admit I'm laughing but I apologize if Double Kay's latest diatribe is too much, I always try to think of the worst possible things to say and then wonder if I've gone too far this time.

I don't mean for it to be gratuitous, KK isn't meant to be edgy and offensive, she's meant to be somebody who at a deep level is fundamentally hurt and has learned to cope with that hurt in the worst ways possible: through violence and abusing others in kind. I try not to get too far into why she's like this because 1) it's boring and 2) for fear of implying something I shouldn't.  I strive to make it over the top deliberately to make it clear this is simply a character.

However I would not be honest if I didn't admit I don't laugh at some of the horrible things I come up with, and while I think it's okay to laugh at them because they are so gross and ridiculous, I also want to be clear the motivation is ultimately to show that even with her past mistakes, personal problems and character flaws, our outlaw is a much better person than she thinks she is.
