Forgive the rough appearance of this. I'm trying to learn my way around a new application, in the hope that I don't always produce maps that look pathetic.

Jacinta, the spot you've halted at places you at medium range from the rifleman. The cover he's behind at this juncture would potentially function as armor, but it only provides two points of protection and since your rifle is AP 2, it's negated. It won't impose any kind of penalty to your roll to hit him, unless he ducks down behind it again, in which case he's foregoing his opportunity to attack.

If you choose to move away from your current position, cover is scarce. It's limited to a couple of small clumps of spruce that could potentially provide some minor concealment, but not any shielding from an incoming shot. If you run, you could reach one of the clumps of spruce in a single round and bring yourself into short range with the sniper.

Dr. Wayland eyed the approaching storm of horsemen and decided that these folk were likely "fair game."  Especially as they had that look of rowdy, indiscriminate, general violent intent.  Best to fight such indiscriminate fire with more indiscriminate fire.  He took a firm shooting stance and swung the big gatling pistol up with both hands.  The clockworks clicked and the thing began bucking noisily and spitting out a hail of bullets into the mass of charging horsemen....

Suppressive Fire! - Medium Template centered as best as he can on the horsemen.

Shooting Roll - 17! (Requiring /2/ White Chips to achieve)  Fires 10 Rounds.

EDIT!: 20:41, Today: Dr. Ezekiel Q. Wayland drew the single card: 10C using a deck of 54 cards.  Next Round Draw!

14:02, Today: James Dolan rolled 4 using 1d6, rerolling max with rolls of 4.  Spirit - Dolan's Horse.

Neither Evans nor Dolan, or their mounts, are affected by the burst of fire.

The horses that are shaken will have to make successful spirit rolls before their riders will be able to direct them.

The sudden hail of bullets take the incoming riders by surprise. One of the men is struck in the throat and tumbles out of the saddle, his hand clutching his neck as he vainly tries to halt the blood that is escaping him. A number of the horses wheel, forcing their riders to fight to control them, one of the outlaws ending up thrown into the dust that is whirling through the street.

Evans scowls. "I think we might need to kill that fella with the fancy pistol first," he tells Dolan.

OOC: This is entirely my fault for not clarifying, but, to avoid any additional confusion, please understand that both Evans and Dolan are at the back of the group of approaching riders. The outlaws that are ahead of them essentially function as medium cover for the pair, so anyone trying to specifically target one of the two will take a -2 penalty to the shot.

Of course, even accounting for the penalty, Cooper's fire was still accurate.

The mountain lion that is Andrew Roberts moves around the front of the restaurant with agile grace. Hopping onto a wagon that sits between the restaurant and the neighboring blacksmith shop, the great cat then leaps onto the blacksmith’s roof, largely disappearing from view.

One of the Apache warriors scrambles out of the front door of the sawmill, while her two compatriots hold their positions within the damaged building. All three loose arrows in the direction of Evans’ approaching gang.

Two of the arrows whistle through the ranks of the riders, cutting close to their targets, but finding only air. The last missile spears the forehead of one of the lead horsemen with an audible impact.

THOK!

12:24, Today: Frank Baker rolled 3,0 using 1d10-5,1d6-5, rerolling max with rolls of 8,5.  Shooting.

He fires at Castillo as he moves, but the shot is wild, the bullet whining past well left of the scout.

13:01, Today: Marshal rolled 5,4,7,11 using 1d6,1d6,1d6,1d6, rerolling max with rolls of 5,4,(6+1)7,(6+5)11.  Spirit - Evans Gang.

All of the riders are able to lose their shaken condition, as do two of the horses. The three horses that remain shaken can’t be prompted to move in the direction their owners desire.

The rider that had been bucked from the saddle struggles to his feet, trying vainly to climb back onto his horse, the frightened animal resisting his efforts.

Gunfire erupts in Blazer’s Mill as the rest of Evans’ followers begin shooting at the restaurant, the multiple reports overwhelming all other sounds on the street.

13:05, Today: Marshal rolled 9,2,2,0,3,0,2 using 1d6-2,1d6-2,1d6-2,1d6-2,1d6-2,1d6-2,1d6-2, rerolling max with rolls of (6+5)11,4,4,2,5,2,4.  Shooting - Evans Gang.

13:07, Today: Marshal rolled 7,2 using 2d6+1,1d6, rerolling max with rolls of 4,2,2.  Damage -Evans Gang.

Bullets hammer the facade of the restaurant. Both front windows shatter and a staccato drumbeat sounds as several shots slam into the wooden walls. One finds its mark, sending Charlie Bowdre tumbling backward, blood welling onto his denim shirt from his wounded shoulder.

Bowdre is shaken with one wound.

Five of the riders turn their mounts about as they fire, quickly moving around the house that sits nearby, opposite the general store, seeking the safety of cover.

The riders who have moved are now in medium cover.

A heartbeat later, Rudabaugh’s warning comes to pass and what remains of the assay office is blasted into ruin.

15:20, Today: Marshal rolled 17 using 4d6, rerolling max with rolls of 1,3,2,(6+5)11.  Damage.

The detonation blows the lone Apache warrior standing in front of the sawmill back into the structure through the exterior wall. Pieces of flaming debris are hurled through the street.

Inside the gristmill, Bobby Joe Porter and Cletus George are huddled in a corner, a cloud of flour filling the large room like fog, both workers having scrambled for shelter when the first shots were fired outside.

“Why should we make a run for it?” Cletus asks, ”Why cain’t we just stay in here? Hell, nobody’ll prolly see us through all the flour.”

”Yer a damn fool!” Bobby Joe tells him, ”If one of them bullets flew in here...”

Before he can finish speaking, a piece of burning lumber crashes though the eastern window.

The gristmill explodes with terrific force, the structure almost entirely flattened.

16:12, Today: Marshal rolled 25 using 4d6, rerolling max with rolls of 4,(6+3)9,4,(6+2)8.  Damage.

Two of Evans’ riders that are still in the street are killed by the blast. One is sent hurdling over the roof of the general store, while the other, the outlaw who had been thrown from his horse, is propelled down the street like a cannonball, flying through the window of the restaurant and skidding across the floor on his face.

A wave of force slams Dr. Wayland and the two Regulators who are with him, as a crate that is engulfed in flame sails over their heads and through the open door of the blacksmith’s shop.

Dr. Wayland, I’ll need you to give me an Agility roll to stay on your feet.

Buffeted by the twin explosions, the sawmill ends up leaning precariously to the right, its timbers groaning with strain. The already loose water wheel gives up the ghost and breaks away from the building, rolling drunkenly across the street before crashing into the restaurant, demolishing much of the covered porch before coming to rest against the front door.
