By means of researching the many books in the study, the professor learns that Abigail Collins died in 1795. When she was younger, Abigail nearly married. The reason she didn't is not exactly clear, but one account suggests that her brother thought the man was nothing but a fortune-hunter (that is, he was only after her money).

Whatever she was like when she was young, Abigail apparently became rather a spiteful woman in her later years, and a religious fanatic. She died in 1795.
