Perhaps something like one of the amateur feats.

Re: Ooc to the gameplay thread

So no feat covers that; I thought so as it is class features and spells that allow people to aid the whole group...

We also need long forked poles to push away ladders if they get any to the walls.  How many of the catapults are still in service?

None of the catapults are in service no one (at Oleg’s) has the engineering knowledge needed to repair the machines

I am suggesting you inquire in the gameplay thread
They have some ideas...

Re: Ooc to the gameplay thread

One rank in engineering would allow for an attempt
But you might want some aid in making it happen
Guidance will add one
Helpful will add another 3

The right magic will let you roll twice fe take the best result

Success will tell you how much and how long

Re: Ooc to the gameplay thread

Tauron looks at his feet and shuffles them a little.

Um.  I did bad thing.  I passed to saving throws nobody else did.  I am sorry.
I must say I never thought the engineering skill would ever be needed.

You gain a free rank in survival and engineering.....

So I can cast guidance on myself.  If someone can use helpful.
Maybe I can put up with Razmatin Vulcovila bad singing for the good of the party.

My base is +3 as not class skill but I do have good Int.

Anybody has re-roll ability.

If so and if people would like.  I can put the catapults back in action?

In reply to Tauron Alphmellon (msg # 953):

Strange result passing a saving throw....
Never say never..

In character it will be better to look at the catapults and realize that you have knowledge of geometry and physics; materials strength and uses
That you never studied....

Re: Ooc to the gameplay thread

As Tauron come from place of study I think more likely is mind wonder off he own studies and ended up reading someone else book on engineering.
The person sitting opposite him.
He was however at the time reading it up side down and his mind was day dreaming at the time.

How somehow the memory come back and brain turned the plans and book the right way up.

Does that work for you?

As for never say never.  Ah.  I am in another game.  My character made critical failure on a knowledge check.
The party is about to believe that an evil hag is trying to take over the local town.
Never in a game has one bad roll going to have such big long term effect on a game I am in.

Re: Ooc to the gameplay thread

There might also be the ability to take 10 or 20? Maybe the initial roll to determine if there's time.

I don't have the skills to help, though I'll definently offer my assistance if needed.

FYI, this thread is nearing 1000 posts. Not really a big deal as this is an OCC thread.

Re: Ooc to the gameplay thread

War council can be fairly brief
Everyone can talk about the direction they want to go.

First is Svetlana wanting to know you lot will be there
Second setting immediate defenses
Third the wood for the catapults
