Didn't see any description of cover for their current location... so why stand around in the open or remain pinned by the tunnel?  The sniper girls need support, the famed Russian Wave is on it's way to help!  Even if it's a low tide wave...

And in my mind, they're charging towards cover, and ideally any Nazi going for the machine gun will be more mindful of the sniper shots... (so hoping for a round or two to get to those two corners before the machine gunner wakes up)
