Focused Expertise

The sample areas of expertise in the Heroes Handbook are very broad. If you choose to purchase ranks in a more narrow expertise skill you may gain a +2 (for focused) or +5 (for specialized) circumstance bonus whenever you roll using it. You must have at least one real rank in a skill in order to get these bonuses.

Specialized (advantage)

With this advantage you can use a broad skill as a more specialized one. For each rank in this advantage chose a focused or specialized application; you may now get circumstance bonuses when the target of your specialization is relevant. You may use this advantage to specialize skills other than Expertise.
