Re: OOC

OK-got a bit behind and will do updates tomorrow.  The post will be the end of this Adventuring Phase

The challenge is that with Valtharrs rolls I have to adjust the ending a bit from what I planned.

Start thinking about your Fellowship phase-It will be a Long Fellowship over the Winter in Rhosgobel and will conclude with Blackfeathers wedding in the early Spring.  The thread 'Journey's, Sanctuarys, The Shadow and Treasure' has ideas for you.

Valtharr and Hummond will level up for sure-need to count total XP out for the party and see about the original 3.

Re: OOC

XP...

To confirm, as I started on level 2 I allocated myself 300xp. As you just awarded 1751xp I am now on 2051, correct? Or did I read your post wrong?

Gear...

Are you happy if we use our loot to buy any normal gear from the book? I fancy upgrading armour and a few other bits.

Re: OOC

Okay, let me get this right.

Dul Gudor was formerly the stronghold of the Necromancer, secretly known as Sauron. Sauron was driven out of DG by the White Council after Erebor was reconquered. Now Sauron dwells in Mordor.

But now we're finding out that DG is nothing like safe. There are goblins aplenty there.

Do I have that right?

Re: OOC

Answers.....

Old players were brought up to 4500 as we restarted the game.
New players (Valtharr and Hum) started at 500

To Gundri

-Characters only really know that Sauron was defeated a few years ago and fled.

-What you have found is that Spiders are pushing 9or being pushed...) further north into the woods
-Yes their does appear to be increased goblin and orc activity in the Anduin Vales
-Quickfeathers recent observation does appear to show taht orcs are returning to teh area.

Unknown at this point is that he fled to Mordor and will openly declare he has returned in 2951

Re: OOC

Ugh. Sorry if I'm slow, I'm a bit sick right now. :(

I'll figure out what to do with the fellowship phase... mostly recovering, methinks, since I'm dangerously close to having permanent shadow points.

Re: OOC

I need some guidance on what to do in the Fellowship phase. I have 2 temp shadow points, no permanent, and no wounds.

Other than drinking and general carousing (not a bad option by the way!), any suggestions?

Re: OOC

My suggestions:

1. Go visit a famous LOTR figure (never know when one of them might have an answer we need, or a quest!)
2. Buy things you need/want.
3. Get a sanctuary somewhere (where you can rest extremely well WHEN you need it).
4. Receive a title (gain a permanent home!)

There are also regional fellowship things to do in some of the region books, if you are a member of one culture or another, or if you have a sanctuary there. Plenty in Mirkwood, for example.

On a Long Fellowship Phase are we allowed 2 actions? I thought I read that somewhere. I need to level Hum up and go through some options. Hope everyone is well. Blessings :)

Re: OOC

If I want to buy something that's available in Dale or the Lonely Mountain, can I get it delivered here? Or does that have to wait until next time I'm in My Sanctuary?

Also, is there anybody else who wants to chime in on the conversation between me and Thiriswen?

Only 1 action this fellowship phase.  The wedding is going to be the 2nd action (Still deciding the positive impacts for the party. (It will definitely include Open Rhosgobel as a Sanctuary.  Player thoughts are welcome)

Gundri-I'll allow it.  Since trade is happening between Rhosgoble, Esgorath and Erebor.

Fellowship undertakings is the 4th post in 'Journey's, Sanctuarys, The Shadow and Treasure' thread

Re: OOC

To heal corruption while in Rhosgoble. Book say DC 13 (Insight) check with advantage if in a Sanctuary.

12:56, Today: Asgrim rolled 7,3 using d20+2,d20+2 with rolls of 5,1.  Insight w/ advantage to heal corruption.

Which as normal Asgrim fails.

Re: OOC

1.  Will be adding a new player. he is an old reliable player from one of my last games that just got his hands on the AimE players hand book.  So he is looking through it now deciding on what he'd like to play.

2.  To clarify the fellowship phase

   A.  Everyone will get to pick 1 event (Some of you are already doing)
   B.  Then you will also get 'Open Rhosobel' as a Sanctuary
   C.  Probably a trinket (I'm still deciding on what) that will give you advantage with Woodsmen. Like some of you have with a Dwarf Ring and Beorning Bear claw broach.

3. Will get a Fellowship phase thread up shortly so that you can post and the get ready to start the next Adventuring Phase in about a week.

In reply to Loremaster (msg # 625):

Okay, I’ve levelled up and am looking at shopping and Fellowship Phase. Some questions on the latter...

- Training - I assume this only applies to relevant Cultural Virtues, I cannot gain a new one. Correct?

- Gain New Trait - what is a trait? The trait section for Men of the Lake gives no optional traits that I could see. Can anyone explain or point me to the relevant page?

Re: OOC

You are correct about training.

Traits are everything under background, namely feature, distinctive quality, specialty, hope or despair. If you choose to Gain a New Trait, you can change at least one of them to whatever else you like.
