Heh, I can't help imagining a rogue Termagaunt going all John Wick in the middle of the horde.

Is there a way we can identify that his body is acting strange?  I might hop off the pintle and grapple him if we can.

I'm guessing his going ape shit in the back of the Chimera and trying to kill and/or eat us might be a give away.

Dunno, it might be too shocked at wearing clothes to do much more than gape.

And on the psy powers? Smiting smack from the middle of that horde surely should give me a nice bonus.

Re: Silence of the Warp: OoC

I think a successful use of Psy Powers would destroy the feeble mind of the creature's body that you currently inhabit. So, you know, win-win.

I'd advise against using psi powers.  You're right in the middle of the Silence of the Void, they'll likely be even trickier to use.

It'd definitely be worth Renown for the feat.  And...likely some time with an Apothecary and some invasive tests and questions maybe.

I might be speaking out of turn here, so if I am I apologise. But, since we have a good, solid group here, I was wondering if anyone fancied starting more games with us and if so, which ones?

Re: Silence of the Warp: OoC

I've become disenchanted with the ship to ship combat featured prominently in Rogue Trader. I don't particularly want to run Dark Heresy or Black Crusade but would be willing to try. I've been trying and failing to keep a group running in Only War for nearly a year now.

If you people want, I could run an Only War group for you.

Re: Silence of the Warp: OoC

I thin I like Deathwatch the most, but I think they balanced out a lot of system stuff when they made Black Crusade and Only War.

I'd like to be in a Black Crusade Chaos Space Marine group.

Re: Silence of the Warp: OoC

Yeah proper Black crusade game would be nice. RT's ship stuff is indeed what bogs it down and kills the roleplay. Im in one but the GM is having rl issues so the pace is atrocious.

Tried running an underhive Black Crusade game but it blew up so now im running SLA industries.

Re: Silence of the Warp: OoC

I've never even tried to play Black Crusade or Dark Heresy. Every Only War game I've been in on here has snuffed it during regiment creation. Likewise with ship creation for Rogue Trader.

My vote would probably be for Only War. If we're gonna blaspheme against the Emperor & go non-40K, Shadowrun or maybe D&D or something similar.

Only War seems to have picked up some votes, so sure let's go with that then.  Regiment and planet creation can be fun and/or tedious.

Re: Silence of the Warp: OoC

In my game I simply created a regiment that fit the story I wanted to tell. Another GM created three options within the same type and described it as a recombined regiment from three diminished ones. I thought that was a good option.

Re: Silence of the Warp: OoC

Yeah, the part that's holding me back right now is the regiment.  I have this notion to run a voidborn regiment...and that's where the heresy train of thought derails.  Most likely I'll just choose a regiment type and leave the doctrines etc. up to the PCs.  Mixed regiments can be fun, but for the DMs sake it's far easier to just run a single one.  Simplicity is the reason to run a prepublished module anyway.

Re: Silence of the Warp: OoC

One concept I had in mind for a regiment was the personal tithe of an army from a Rogue Trader.  A bunch of young but very well armed and armoured newbies, that basically get dropped into the thick of things.

Just an idea.

I'd rather not it be a mechanized regiment though, I'd favor infantry maybe.

I never got to play a psyker well. Love to give one of those a try actually. I got no access to any only war stuff though. So might not be able to join in there.

That would make things tricky, do you have Black Crusade or the other 40k games?
