How critical is it to know the Only war stuff? I don't have that one so the squad things don't mean anything to me.

I'll post a summary of the comrade rules for everyone who doesn't have that rule book.

Comrade stuff is easy.  They’ve got simple standard orders that give you small bonuses and cost no xp, additional ones from the specialties that cost, and then others that any comrade can get.  If you really want to spend xp on them you can take a talent making them veteran and unlock even more orders.

I’ve got the books too so I can lend commentary from experience.

Hey boss...

You may want to arbitrarily take one thing from the Ogryn Comrade to apply to our Astartes groupies.  They get an extra Wounded spot because of their resilience since they are tougher than your average Guard trooper.  Astartes should fit the same profile if not tougher at a thought.

Well actually calling us tougher than Ogryns. ;)

If our squadmates are Unwounded, wounded and dead they are no tougher than *gasp* a PDF Guardsman...

So I was thinking about Wargear:

Without resorting to spoilers, you will be isolated from the Imperium at large. There will still be opportunities to gain resources, but a lot of it will be based on finding them or bargaining for them.

So, instead of Requisitioning resources like the Deathwatch do, what do we think about a more traditional inventory system? The Company has weapons and wargear to choose from, and you can select them for your missions. Gradually you can expand your inventory with rewards and reclaimed items. You may also gain the ability to supply yourselves with munitions like ammunition, so a certain amount is available at the beginning of missions.

So we start with a standard armory and then we can use the RT aqcuisition methods to get better stuff either for oneself or with some luck enough to arm a company.

A low RT profit factor would work for limited resources.

Of course...

If we are segmented away from the Imperium having ammunition for every non-las weapon is going to run out quick unless the ship we're on has a manufactorum on board (like the component in Battlefleet Koronus).
