Re: Behind the Gellar Field

Having meaty trophies seems a bit like the Night Lords.  But the acquiring of trophies and treasure is a good theme.  How about as the insanity mounts, the need to acquire starts costing objective points?  Tasked with bringing in live examples, we need to get extra because some we designate for the hoard, regardless of orders?

Re: Behind the Gellar Field

I never said anything about meaty trophies...I was thinking more of the hording aspect of small, completely useless things like one knife from each cultist. Kinda like how Ariel collected junk.

Not objecting either, these are insanities after all.

Re: Behind the Gellar Field

New idea for the "scaling" idea: the armour is white or black with scales picked out in the opposite color. For every major event it participated in a scale gets colored in. Like killing an enemy vehicle would be metalic red, leader gold, century of service silver, and so on. A black scale means the wearer died, and the new recipient starts their story on the next scale. That way as the centuries pass the armour becomes more dragon like.

Maybe the marines could do the same, get scale tatoos for their personal achievements.

That's a cool sounding tradition, let's use it.

How about another of the curses (level 2, I think fits best) being that they have to use flame or flame like weapons, even if it makes no tactical sense? Perhaps on a failed roll of some kind.

How about as As an alternative to that, they're unable to function properly unless there's some kind of fire burning

There are four battle brothers on the bridge itself. There are two providing an honour guard outside the Navigator's chamber and the astropathic choir chamber, respectively.

Re: Behind the Gellar Field

We haven't entered a combat situation yet, So we're kind of playing Calvin ball with the rules right now. What do You want to achieve with your psychic Powers? Do you simply want to force the enemy out of control of the astropath? Do you want to protect others? Basically, come up with something and then make it appropriate role, and if you succeed you will succeed. , and the degrees of success will indicate just how much of a benefit it has to the overall situation.

That sort of goes for all of you. I know you don't all have psychic powers, but if there's something you want to do right now that isn't strictly Allowed by the rules as written, this is the moment for that. Think of yourselves as authors in the black Library at a time like this.

Before I jump the gun, do we need to roll initiative?  How many things are on the bridge now?

Yeah, don't worry about initiative yet. I'll tell you when you're really in combat. This is more of a puzzle to solve.

Any chance we could vent this portion of the ship?  I don't think the bridge is close enough to the exterior, but if we were Kyros might suggest that.

We vent the ship so our people die and the demons just live on? Those bastards don't play by the rules. ;-)

Probably the greater risk would be losing a bunch of crewmates to being bitten alive.

Re: Behind the Gellar Field

In retrospect I didn't have this one planned out as well as I thought I did. It's a bit of a rail-road right now because we need to get from one plot-point to another. Bear with me as I try to get us back on track, so that we can get off the track again.

The creature is clearly a low-ranking slaneeshi daemon. Further bulletins as warranted. Now could somebody please destroy it?
