Ron nodded to acknowledge the order, and put down the pitcher he had been cleaning. Slinging the damp bar rag over his shoulder, Ron turned and fetched an unlabeled bottle from the top shelf. He produced a shot glass from under the bar, unstoppered the bottle, and poured a finger of golden brown liquid into the glass. He then replaced the stopper and returned the bottle to the top shelf.

ďAdd it to yer tab?Ē Ron asked, though he already knew the answer. He picked up the pitcher he had been cleaning, moved a few steps away, to give the newcomers some privacy for talking, and got back to work wiping the pitcher with the wet bar rag.

Brody broke out from being chewed out for one minute to call out to the bartender, "Ron, I don't need a tab right now." He then flicks a couple creds to Ron and turns back to Patricia who was still ranting, "...You do this every time. How much money do you think we have left! I needed this job. The boats nit gonna last if we keep this up and you aren't helping! Last week you..." Brody shoves the drink in her face and just looks sternly before sighing and turning back to the bar to sit in silence for a bit. Its been a long day...

After finishing his shift Lucas checked on the progress of his ship repairs and was pleased to discover that they were more or less done. The bad news being that the latest replacement part had cost him almost the exact amount of credits he'd earned that week. He took a seat in what had become his customary booth, with it's clear view of the exits. Off duty cops were after all, favourite targets of criminals with an axe to grind. When he was able to get Ron's attention, Lucas ordered his favourite grilled steak sandwich and a beer.

It wasnít long before a pretty waitress in a cowgirl outfit brought Lucas his beer. She smiled, then left.

While he waited for his dinner to arrive, Lucasí wrist computer chimed softly, and began blinking. Its readout presented details of a new case which had just been assigned to him.

Just as Lucas finished reading the case file, the same waitress brought him a steaming plate, and placed it on the table in front of him. She smiled again, said, ďEnjoy,Ē and went back to the kitchen.

"Hey Trish, Go see about the repairs to our ship and I'll see about work..." Brody said without looking at his partner. With an exasperated huff Patricia got up, downed her drink and left the bar grumbling under her breath"Rat bastard. Saved his life and all I get is this shit show. Last time I pull his burning ass out of a ghost ship. Through him out of an air-lock.". Now without his companion Brody signaled to the bartender to come over. He hadn't been here for a while so he needed to find some leads on a job. He waited for the Bartender to come over before asking in a hushed tone, "Hey Ron, I need a job. Got any possible leads because Patricia might shoot me if I don't bring one fast."

Lucas looked through the case file as he ate and drank, wondering if this was someone's idea of a joke. He was expected to hunt down his target without a wake scanner or interdictor fitted to his ship. That left archaic methods such as interrogating associates of the target and lurking where he or she was likely to be. "What is this, the damned dark ages?" he muttered to himself.

After deciding that he might need backup with this assignment, Lucas whipped up a brief advert of the station's bulletin board. Not wanting to tip off El Diablo, he ommitted his target's name for the time being.

Ron slung the wet bar rag over his shoulder again, and rubbed his chin with one hand, as he thought. ďHave you tried the starportís Mission Board? I sometimes post there, when I need anything imported before the next big shipment arrives. Thereís always someone lookiní for able spacers sround here.Ē

[OOC: For those who donít play the video game, every time you dock, your HUD offers you Starport Services. One of the options from that screen is the Mission Board, which is sort of like a CraigsList of job offers.]

Timian stumbles into the bar, only staying upright because his taller companion is holding him. Finding a booth, he crashes into it, out cold as soon he hits the table. Nathan shakes his head at him before sitting and waiting for service. After a while, he says "I told you that you should have let me fly for part of the trip. There was no one you were going to stay awake flying that long." Nathan muttered under his breath.

A muffled voice comes from Timian "But I did, didn't I?" The voice sounds irritated, but also playful. "Just get me whatever sounds best."

Almost immediately after the duo arrived, an attractive young waitress in a cowgirl outfit approached their booth, smiling.

ďWelcome to Ronís Starport Bar!Ē she greeted enthusiastically. ďWhatíll you boys have?Ē

[OOC: The gangís all here now. Feel free to mingle and interact. I might post for more players, but 3 (and another 2 NPCs) is good enough for the first mission.]

"Thanks Ron." Brody quickly checked the mission board. He began to look through his options. "Please let me find something that pays more than last job..." he mumbled to himself as he looked through his options.

OOC: Thanks for the info. What do I see as I check the mission board? And this may be a stupid question but the mission board is connected to my wrist com or is it an actual board? Or do I have a HUD that only I can see?

Nathan smiles at the girl, turning his face to reveal a large scar over an eye, which is a different color than his other one. "Steaks for both of us. Medium for me, rare for the lump of flesh over there. Also, some coffee if you serve any here."

Timian raises his head from the table. "Feel free to bring a glass of whatever poison you would recommend darling." He winks at the girl and chuckles at Nathan as he scowls.

In reply to Brody Frawdman (msg # 12):

OOC: Iím going to blatantly rip off from Star Citizen here, and say everyoneís wrist computer projects a small, 8-inch or so display that would be hard for anyone beside the owner to read.

As Brody scrolled through screen after screen of low-paying transport jobs, he began to calculate how much cargo he could cram into his Adderís hold. If he could carry a bunch of produce out to Asellus Primus, then bring back a bunch of farming equipment, that just might be worthwhile. Unfortunately, the produce shipments were destined for various systems, some 2 jumps away, in opposite directions from the rest. He was about to give in, when a soft chime alerted him of a new post to the board. It was something about tracking down a missing person, but the details were vague. He would have to respond in order to learn more.

OOC: Thatís Lucasí post, and if you reply to it, Lucas will receive instant notification on his wrist comp.

In reply to Tim Lancaster (msg # 13):

ďYou got it!Ē replied the waitress, her smile never leaving her face. She tried to avoid staring at Nathanís scar, and ended up looking at Timian a little too long. The smile never faltered.

She turned and went to the bar, and spoke with Ron. After Ron nodded, she headed into the kitchen, while Ron grabbed a bottle from the top shelf, reached under the bar for a shot glass, and poured a couple of fingers of golden liquid into it.

The waitress returned from the kitchen, carrying a steaming cup on her tray, and stopped by the bar to pick up the shot glass, while Ron was putting away the bottle again. She brought the drinks to the table and smiled to both men, as she placed their drinks on the table.

ďHere you go, one coffee and one pearl whisky,Ē she said, again avoiding Nathanís gaze and staring at Timian. ďYour dinner will be right out.Ē

She turned and walked back into the kitchen, then reappeared shortly thereafter, carrying two sizzling plates on her tray. Approaching the table, she tried to avoid eye contact this time, but couldnít help sneaking a glance at Timian and blushing slightly. She laid the plates out on the table, and asked: ďIs there anything else I can get you?Ē

Timian notices the look, and winks at her. "That will be all for me." He will take a deep smell, licking his lips. "Compliments to the chef. It smells divine. Everything good with you, Nathan?"

Nathan shakes his head before looking at the waitress. "Thank you for the service. I looks like it worth the long flight."

They both turn back to the meal, only talking rarely as they ate. Timian started with the coffee, before finishing off the meal with the whiskey.

"So, what kind of jobs do you think are out here? It is my turn to pick after all, and I want something good after the boring one you picked." Nathan was still eating, but he pushed his com over to Timian to show that he was already on the station's Mission Board. [OOC: Assuming that I see the same as Brody] "Boring...boring...done it...not worth the fuel...Hey, looks like at least one person might be doing something better than ferrying cargo! Details are vague, but I will send something off and see if it might be worth the time. Almost anything beats another long haul."

Nathan rolls his eyes while finishing the last of his food. "It wouldn't be as much of a problem if you wouldn't take any job that involves us getting in a dogfight. Of course on my turns I'm going to choose boring jobs when the other option is getting blasted." They both chuckle, as this isn't the first time they have bickered over job choices.

Brody had a knack for finding those sketchy jobs that did explain much before you were halfway to to your quarry or prison so that missing person job was right up his alley. He did the usual and repied to accept the job without even telling Trish. She would most likely be furious but a job is a job. He finished his drink and waited for a meet up location from the employer. "Hey Ron. Another beer over here." Brody payed some more money for another drink. He turned and noticed the other two that had made the ruckus as they entered. He hoped they wouldn't bother him.

Ron served Brody another shot of whiskey, just about the same time Tim and Nathan finished their meal and left. As he was reading his new messages, the waitress brought Lucas another beer.

Outside the bar, Tim and Nathan headed for the Grand Azeban Hotel, which they quickly discovered was not as grand as its name implied.

Tim sighed, as he had been hoping that he would be able to relax in comfort. "Well, it doesn't look like it is anything to be excited for, but it is better than the cramped quarters on the ship, especially since we need to clean after the mission. I feel like I am about to fall over, but we can go elsewhere, I suppose." Nathan laughed, giving him a light shove towards the entrance.

"As much as I would like better lodging, I don't think it will be worth dragging you around after you collapse from lack of sleep in five minutes. You go in here, and send me the room number while I go order some supplies for the ship and wait for the reply for the job." They split up, Timian to collapse into much needed sleep, and Nathan to explore and run errands.

As he started in a his second beer Lucas hit the button that would send Tim a "You're hired" message. Whilst he waited for a reply from the second prospective deputy he scanned  the news feeds to see if there was any.mention of El Diablo. With a bit of luck he'd be able to put together a halfway decent briefing for whoever took the job he'd advertised.

Ron got the request for his ship and gear descriptions. He quickly sent back, Adder with a two-man crew. Auto pistols and the ability to use them.  he also listed all of the mundain gear they had on them and a more detailed description of the Adder Cornucopia before sending it to the job giver and turning back to his glass of whiskey. Ron was surprised. That was the fastest he'd ever gotten a job.

Lucas didnít have to search long for news of El Diabloís criminal activities. Over the past eight weeks, in-system GalNet news articles described a pattern of pirate attacks on ships coming into the Eranin system. Lucas made a mental note that El Diablo never seemed to attack outgoing vessels of local origin... or at least, there was no evidence yet of such action. Upon further reading, Lucas was able to determine that El Diablo plied the spaceways between Azeban and Eraninís nav beacon. Ships bound for Azeban City and Azeban Orbital were targeted, but vessels heading out to Eranin 4 Survey were ignored. Video logs and victim reports mentioned El Diablo attacked in a Cobra, although opinions and glimpses of the hull livery varied from one incident to another. The transponder data was also never the same twice. The earliest report suggested El Diablo had used a Zorgon Hauler. Lucas initially thought that might be a mistake, but even an aimless greenhorn wouldnít confuse a Cobra for a Hauler.

Nathan gets the message, and files it away for now. After all, he still had some errands to run, and Timian would explode if he got left out of the search. After a while, when he is finished, he will go back to the hotel and find Timian absolutely passed out in the room. Chuckling to himself, Nathan throws a food supplement at Timian, hitting him in the face.

Timian launches upright, his eyes flicking around the room. "What is it, I am up, did something happen?" The words tumble out of his mouth before he realizes Nathan is laughing at him. "Oh, ha ha ha, very funny. Call security, we have a real riot in here." Tim says this slightly mockingly, but he is refreshed after sleeping, and lets it slide after a second. "So, what did I miss?" He asks as he slurps down the supplement.

"Nothing much." Nathan says as he forwards the messages. "We got the job, and now we need to find a 'Benny Frye' who is the witness to something. I am guessing since we didn't get anymore information, he is somewhere on the starport."

With that, the two head out, searching for the target.

Brody finishes his whiskey setting it on the counter empty. "Thanks Ron." he says not facing Ron as he slides of the stool and begins to slowly walk out of the bar. He shoots a quick message to Pat to meet him for the details of their new job. Afterwards his hands slip nonchalantly into his duster pockets as he steps out of the bar in search of one Benny Frye. He wasn't a stranger to manhunt jobs but it had been a while. He hoped it would go smoother than the last time...
