OOC Discussion

For those who don't have Predation, I or Jesikah can help you make your characters.  Or I have the following I created for a gaming convention:

Rakkon Var, A Savage Karn who Predates, along with his Clumsy T-Rex, Champ

Martin Shay, A Noble Karn who Defends the Weak, along with his Sociable Ankylosaurus, Constance

Vellis Rio, A Learned Tec who Plays God, along with her Clever Piski (tiny pterodon), Hand

Cascade Ming, An Inquisitive Tec who Fuses Mind and Machine, along with his Curious Alphadon (ferret-like creature), Nosy

Bendis Musson, A Kind Pteryx who Walks With Dinosaurs, along with his Timid Argoraptor, Fellow

Gamma Keel, A Rugged Pteryx who Lives In The Wilderness, along with her Vigilant Struthiomimus, Strider

Lariat Shine, An Appealing Osteon who Entertains, along with his Flashy Cimexomis (early possum), Sleek

Serdana Storm, A Skeptical Osteon who Works the Back Alleys, along with her Intimidating Anzu (ostrich-like), Answer

Quick Question:  What is adventure focus going to be?  Sounds like we have multiple people interested in Pteryx characters.  Obviously we need to balance a little toward GM goals though.

I can tailor the adventure to the group, so that's not a problem.  I have one possible person interested in an osteon, another in a tec, and a third undecided, so there's still hope for a karn.

Then again if someone has an anklysaurus or dakoraptor as an animal companion, we're hardly without muscle.  ;)

But for a brief plot sketch - I would like the group to have known each other and be traveling together.  You'll be heading to Kelanio (the defacto "capital" of Grevakc) for the annual Wild Walk, a celebration of dinosaurs and people working together, with parades, dino-painting, dino owners showing off tricks, dino adoptions, food, music, stories, bone-reading.  The festival takes place the week after the first run of torotix returns to the Torotix river.  (The torotix being a kind of aquatic bird.)  The exact date of the festival can thusly move around a bit, but you're a week away from Kelanio by the Chalk Road (main road the runs the length of Laramedia, the western continent), and even then you'll have plenty of time in town before the earliest possible date of the Walk.

Sees Beyond is definitely useful.  Though in this case instead of seeing other dimensions you're likely seeing through time itself, likely due to some quirk of your DNA being modified in a time anomaly.  (or perhaps a parent's was.)

I’m still working on background and sescription, but should we start talking connections?  I will just list mine... don’t really have one that I would prefer over the others so if anyone wants in let me know.  Maybe not the first because his adaptations are pretty obvious.

1. Pick one other PC. You saved them from a bad situation, but in doing so, you exposed your adaptations, and you think you might have freaked them out.
2. Pick one other PC. You knew each other before you began altering yourself, but you're not sure how they feel about what you've done.
3. Pick one other PC. That person has asked you a lot of questions about your abilities. Are they nefarious or just curious? You're not sure yet.
4. Pick one other PC. You recently discovered a secret about them. You're not sure if they know that you know.

OOC Discussion

So here are my connections. We'll has things out. Jesikah is a Graceful Pteryx who Roars at the Sun. This is similar to Howls at the Moon, only takes place during the bright, hot Mesozoic daytime, and she turns into a dinosaur.

The story is that Jesikah, who is an explorer and field scientist par excellence (a paleontologist by our standards, or rather, someone who studies both the living dinosaurs and other prehistoric beasts and the extinct ones). The mysteries and secrets of the Cretaceous world are, after all, endlessly fascinating, and this entire world is one worth exploring. Unfortunately, she was caught in a time terror, the massive temporal warp-storms that sometimes rage across Grevakc. The storm shifted her temporal position with that of some ancient raptor-like creature, and indeed bound them together.

Now at certain times, that temporal energy will surge about her and "transform" her into this creature. However, it seems to be more than just that. Each of them, Jes and the creature, can affect the other, and she can learn to control it, both its mind and the times she switches. Perhaps it was something far stranger, like being regressed back to a very, very ancient past life, or some might even come up with a more animistic and spiritual explanation for it. Either way, this is both her burden and a power now, the power to run free and live as part of Grevakc at times in ways no human could fully understand.

1) Pick one other PC. That character is able to soothe you when you're in beast form. You'll never attack her while transformed, and she can spend 3 consecutive turns to calm you down, allowing you to revert back to normal form without making a roll. - Rain

2) Pick one other PC. You believe that he intends to convince you (or capture you) to join the circus or some other entertainment venue. The other player chooses whether or not this is true.

3) Pick 2 other PCs. They know it's beneficial for you to kill and eat a creature while you're in beast form, and they often work together to make sure that happens. - Loric

4) Pick one other PC. Since she saw you in beast form, she has clearly been terrified of you. You are determined to show her that you're not as dangerous as she thinks.

Aright, let me toss mine in there:

1 Pick one other PC. You are fairly certain this character doesn't believe that your abilities are real.
2 Pick one other PC. You see a gathering of energy and colors on this character that seem to imply that she, too, can see beyond. Whether you ask her about it is up to you.
3 Pick one other PC. Whever this character is near, your abilities seem to take longer and become more difficult
4 Pick one other PC. Wherever this character goes, you are aware of the general distance and direction of his location.

1) Pick one other PC. That character is able to soothe you when you're in beast form. You'll never attack her while transformed, and she can spend 3 consecutive turns to calm you down, allowing you to revert back to normal form without making a roll.

Character Description:
Oiktirmon
An Empathic Osteon who Rejuvenates the Infirm

Background:  Some call him Doctor.  Some call him Pastor.  Many call him Friend.

Oiktirmon is devoted to ministering to the physical and spiritual needs around him in this land of exile.  With his Osteon skills and his Sociable Anzu Peteinos ("Pet"), he has an uncanny knack of knowing where he will be most needed, and of swiftly arriving to heal those in need.  His grandfather was a Doctor and Calvinist Pastor commuter, and he can still remember breathlessly listening as a child to the first-hand stories of the future world now lost to them.  He has taken up the vocational mantle and mission of his father and grandfather before him.  Their Empathic DNA tweaks have been passed down to him, so he is very much a compassionate doctor who can literally feel their pain.  His compassion also extends to creatures in need that he encounters, and he also ministers to them with his healing skills.

Description:  60 years old, gray hair, blue eyes, 188cm, 73kg.  Empathic, friendly, intelligent, wise, devout, dedicated.

This looks like a decent match, if you are game...  :)

I will toss my connections out there as well:

1. Pick one other PC.  You failed to heal that character once, and she nearly lost her life.
2. Pick one other PC.  When you rebuild that character's tissue, he gains 1 additional point.
3. Pick two other PCs.  To fully regenerate one, you had to use your autodoc to remove an extra organ from the other.
4. Pick one other PC.  Your attempt to heal that character's deathly ill relative ended in the patient's sudden demise.

I suspect that door #2 would be most popular...  :)

For that matter, might we discuss an alternative: playing our own? It could get confusing playing each other's companions in a PBP environment, as well as slow things down if we have to wait for another player to post a response to an action we give our own companions. I'd personally find it much simpler and probably easier for the game to do our own, but I'm curious how everyone else feels.

Since we're putting our possible connections out there, here's Klaue's~

1. Pick one other PC. You saved him from a monster (though not by defeating the creature, which is still out there).

2. Pick one other PC. You tried but failed to save her loved one from a monster. You still bear the scars.

3. Pick one other PC. He knows the name and lair of a monster, but for some reason he won’t share that information with you.

4. Pick one other PC. That character shows potential in the art and philosophy of monster slaying. You would like to train her but aren’t sure she’s interested.

I'm partial to 1 or 2, personally, although 4 could work.

As for whether or not to go through with having other players manage our companions, I'm fine doing it either way.

Hi everyone.  I've been watching to see what everyone is picking.  I like to fill in wholes in the group.  It seems like everything is pretty balanced except Karn's.  I'll plan on joining Klaue.  I'll work out some more specifics as I continue my trip.  I finish tomorrow and should be able to get everything entered Sunday or Monday morning at the latest.  Just a little hard to do a full character post from my iPad.

Re: OOC Discussion

Ok, connections are looking good!

I have some housekeeping from various characters:

Allen - you're less familiar with the system, so I sent you several decisions I need you to make on your character so we can proceed.  Once we get all of that decided, I can help you hammer out the rest of your character.  Be thinking on your animal companion, and I'll get you the list of dispositions soon.  (Or someone else can send them to him.)

Esmul - the sheet you sent me looked pretty good, so go ahead and put that in your character sheet.

Oiktirmon and Loric were picking equipment, while Cascade, Jesikah, Klaue, and Rain all were looking good.

Commuter 2, I look forward to seeing your character hopefully later today!

Also, I will let everyone pick one non-combat skill as a "background" skill.  Maybe your character learned how to play an instrument, or spent their childhood spider-silk farming, did dinosaur-painting as a side job, or had a hobby of collecting old "home" references (from "present-day" Earth).

And everyone that gets their background done may start with 2 XP.

I'm good with 2, 3, or 4 there. 4 I can PM you. 2 would mean you met Esuml's family beforehand, most likely (they're traveling entertainers).

Let me verify my connections:

Esuml Starshine:
4 Pick one other PC. Wherever this character goes, you are aware of the general distance and direction of his location.

Oiktirmon => "this character"/"his" (msg #27)

Loric Landel:
2. Pick one player: he is one of the few people that you feel completely comfortable being around, and you are often surprised at how easily you let down your guard near him.

Oiktirmon => "he"/"him" (msg #39)

Oiktirmon:
1. Pick one other PC.  You failed to heal that character once, and she nearly lost her life.

Rain => "that character"/"she he"/"her his" (msg #44)

Let me know if anyone wants to add, modify, or delete...  For example:

Oiktirmon:
2. Pick one other PC.  When you rebuild that character's tissue, he gains 1 additional point.

I'm still amazed that no one asked for that one...  ;)

Remember all - If you want to convince your companion to do something, you have to make an interaction roll, DT 3, which means a 9 on a d20, or the equivalent.  As you go up in tier, it does get easier, but for now, make sure you make those rolls!  You can edit them into your current posts if you asked your companion to do a thing already.

Can Jes look around to see if there's any evidence of an actual time terror here? Something Mira said has triggered her suspicion (and her player's!).

04:03, Today: Jesikah rolled 8 using 1d20.  Command Blue.

Well, the durn dinosaur is distracted! If it helps, I have a knowledge of geography and so would know what this area should generally be like, as well as having been through a time terror myself. I do need to get trained in perception, though....

I'll burn 3 IPs for 1 Effort on this roll, since Blue isn't helping me.

Re: OOC Discussion

Hey all, a couple quick housekeeping things:

If you are activating a power, using a skill, or making another kind of roll (for example, to interact with your dinosaur), you need to put that note and/or roll result at the bottom of your post, as per the Rules thread example.  Otherwise I am left guessing any mechanical results, or I will have to make the rolls myself for you, in which case I won't be adding Effort on your part (as I don't want to spend points out of your pools unnecessarily).

If you are asking your dinosaur to do a task, you MUST make that interaction roll, DT 3, before they will do it.  If you fail to make it, and want to roll again, you can, but you have to apply Effort.

This could work.  PM me if interested.  :)

Oiktirmon:
I will toss my connections out there as well:

1. Pick one other PC.  You failed to heal that character once, and she nearly lost her life.
2. Pick one other PC.  When you rebuild that character's tissue, he gains 1 additional point.
3. Pick two other PCs.  To fully regenerate one, you had to use your autodoc to remove an extra organ from the other.
4. Pick one other PC.  Your attempt to heal that character's deathly ill relative ended in the patient's sudden demise.

I suspect that door #2 would be most popular...  :)

I still have a few unclaimed connections as well.  I am amazed that door #2 is still unclaimed...  :D

Re: OOC Discussion

Hey all, just a reminder that time anomalies are like little energetic events that resemble slight distortions in the air, often with bursts of electricity.  Those who go in them get cyphers coded into their DNA.  Cyphers are like randomly-generated class abilities, extra toys you get to use.  Time anomalies crop up reasonably frequently, so feel free to use the cyphers freely.  You will have to make a Speed Defense roll whilst walking into a time anomaly, in order to avoid the worst of the energetic discharge (it's not anywhere near as serious as a time terror).  Time anomalies can also contain artifacts and remnants.  Time anomalies are very abundant in the wake of time terrors.

For those of us who are not rule experts... what exactly is a Speed Defense roll?  I assume it is a d20, but what do we have to roll to be successful?

Also, what do we have to roll to be successful for a Time Tap?  O_o

Re: OOC Discussion

In the Cypher system pretty much every roll is a D20. The GM gives you a TD number is this case I believe the GM said 2. You multiply that number by 3 and that gives you your target number to beat on the d20.
So a TD 2 means you need to roll a 6 or higher.
Now it's a speed defense roll so any character ability that effects speed defense rolls will help. So if you are trained in Speed Defense you lower the difficulty by 1.
You can also apply effort using your speed Pool cause it's a speed roll. At our tier we can apply one level of effort. Effort cost 3 pool points minus your speed edge.
So if you apply effort to the roll and have an edge of 1 you would subtract 2 from you speed Pool and then lower the TD by 1.
Hope this helps it's a quick and dirty explaination of the basic mechanic or the Cypher system.

Re: OOC Discussion

I'm about to give everyone their cyphers in a private message.  All of these cyphers are coded into your DNA.  If the cypher does something that doesn't require a physical component, everything is done internally.  For example, if you receive a cypher than restores points to your Might pool, activating the cypher encourages your body to release chemicals to rapidly increase your healing on a temporary basis.  One that influences people might encourage your neural pathways into a high state of empathy and communication for a short period.

But if your cypher demands a physical manifestation, like your cypher is a detonation that you throw that explodes like a grenade, what happens is your body briefly has 4D printer capabilities and does indeed manifest it physically for the short period you need it.

Yeah, consider it more like you're in the corridor of a lab or hospital, with each module being a different lab or operating room-type thing.  It's just that the "ceiling" is a cave roof some 60' above your head.

The ankylosaur is chasing Gaytha or trudging along with her?

It appears that the hole in the door was made by Gaytha and Mira, then Gaytha comes back with this beastie chasing her with a light cannon and no Mira.

So, you're facing a door that either Gaytha forced open or someone else did.  Beyond the door is a large room or corridor.  Running left to right through that room, just beyond the busted door, are the argo raptors, then Gaytha, then the cranky anklo with the cannon, as if this were a Benny Hill sketch, or an episode of Scooby-Doo.  Mira is not currently in the line of running dinosaurs, or at least you haven't seen her yet.

Re: OOC Discussion

You don't immediately see Mira, but this is a large space.  She might be behind/beneath one of the larger crawlers or otherwise hidden, as they're certainly large enough to hide her.  The large cylinder is certainly large enough to hold her, though since it's frosted you can't see the contents.  The little dino-battle at the other end is far enough away that Mira could be down there, just not immediately obvious because of the chaos.  Her last communication did mention trying to stop people from leaving, and down there by the dinos does seem to be the exit.

You are a short distance away from the crawlers, so you could run there this round and climb on it next round, or shoot it/someone, or something else.  Or just run up to it and shout/talk, if you're feeling chatty.

We can see about getting other people once I'm back from GenCon.  :)

I actually went to the last GenCon in Milwaukee and the first two in Indy, then returned to Indy last year and this year.  I must say, there have been many substantial improvements since the first few years.  The poor dears didn't know what they were in for the first time.

But yes, the dealer's hall is not to be missed.  So many game manufactuers all in one place, so many gaming accessories and props you didn't know you needed...

And actually, I am running a Predation game this year.  This exact game, as a matter of fact, from the first post until you rescued Quill, which is just about the right length for a convention game.  I just spent part of yesterday updating and printing out clean character sheets for my pre-gens.

Jolly good time!  I actually got to meet Monte Cook, Shanna Germaine, Sean K. Reynolds, and Bruce Cordell and tell them about the game I ran, so that was a lot of fun.  Met some people I knew from other online gaming (Syrinscape, a gaming soundscape program) and brought probably too much stuff.

The Predation players had a ball.  When they got to Haven, because there were six of them, when mayhem started I pulled out some bigger guns, including a Teslasaurus.  Someone was in the machine shop at the time, so they ran one of the solar jeeps into the Teslasaurus and caused an explosion, so that was fun!

Re: OOC Discussion

Hi everyone! Kerensa is an Appealing Tec who Carries a Quiver.

She's a Tec from the Dota lab, who's keen to see the world beyond Salmon Center. Despite carrying a quiver, she's... not ideally suited for combat :)

Initial Link to the Starting Adventure possibilities:

1. You met a total stranger (one of the other PCs) and charmed him so much that he invited you to come along.

2. The PCs were looking for someone else, but you convinced them that you were the perfect person to join them instead.

3. Pure happenstance—because you just go along with the flow of things and everything usually works out well. [Clearly a good default!]

4. Your charismatic ways helped get one of the PCs out of a difficult spot a long time ago, and she always asks you to join her on new adventures.

Connection possibilities:

1. Pick one other PC to be the true friend who gave you the excellent bow that you currently use. Secretly pick a second PC (preferably one who is likely to get in the way of your attacks). When you miss with a bow and the GM rules that you struck someone other than your target, you hit the second character, if possible.

2. Pick one other PC that you’ve known for a while. The two of you used to do an act where you shot an apple out of her mouth, either for money or just the enjoyment of friends. One time you missed and hit her in the cheek. She may or may not still bear a physical or mental scar from this experience. Either way, you never did your act again.

3. Pick one other PC who is interested in studying archery. He is a quick learner, and if you spend one hour teaching him a few of your secrets, you both gain +1 to any die rolls when you fight the same foe using your bows.

4. Pick one other PC. That person brings up strong emotions in you, whether of anger, desire, or something else. If she is within short range while you’re using your bow, you find it difficult to concentrate and shoot straight.

Welcome!

Well, since we don't seem to be actively ON an adventure right now, we could certainly RP out initial link 2.

Unless Roam (or the GM) has a preference, I'd be ok participating in Connection 1, 2, or 3.  Coralian gets around, usually gets along well with people, and wouldn't really care too much about a scar on her cheek.  She already has a bow to use, and spends enough time in the woods that she could have made you a bow (or given it to you after finding it).  Or things could get interesting if you keep missing bad guys and hitting me.  Methinks you and my Vigilant Ankylosaurus might end up having words with each other.

Rome, you can try to redirect by asking Tarla to mock-attack in hopes of getting the hadros to run to a less-populated area of the open market.  Like a guard dog snapping at the heels of cattle.

Coralian, you too can ask Ajax to run alongside them and use his size/weight to bull them away from potential targets.

Would need dino interaction rolls from both of you for something of the sort.

Things that Zashran can get include:

*clothing, armor, or weapons made of solarium (a self-healing material, heavier armor made of solarium taxes the wearer as if it were one level lighter)

*piezotextile clothing, tents, or minor scientific instruments (it's a fabric that harvested energy from body movement and can be used to generate small amounts of power)

*wetweave clothing or shelters (waterproof spider silk)

*lab equipment

*tools

*scientific instruments

*light sources

*books (which would provide assets on tasks with enough time to consult them)

*weapons (particularly laser guns or laser crossbows of various weights)

*sonic grenades

*tranq darts

*tazing ammo

*stun guns

*camping equipment (for field observations)

*dino traps

Wetweave shelter

Tranq darts (and gun)

Maybe a few scientific instruments to run off the Piezotextile - mostly to detect pathogens and poisons.

You are 30' away from the raptor pack, with the fallen hadro between you and them.  So, we have raptor pack, stretch of path, fallen hadro, Kerensa and Coralion and respective dinos.  About ten feet further back we have Roam and Tarla.

Twenty feet east of the path (in line with the hadro) are Hemon, Rebekah, and dinos, with the exception of Tap, who is circling above.

Yeah, just everyone post, and I'll resolve in a logical fashion.  Remember, your dino's action is part of your action, so you don't lose your action directing them.  If you want them to do something while you are, just include the handling roll as a matter of course.

Hey, I'm still here. I’m sorry for the silence. We’re still on, I still want to play. My seasonal job suddenly let me go after telling me they’d keep me, leaving me in a really difficult spot. I’ve been an emotional mess and trying to find new employment ASAP so as not to end up on the streets, but I'm still here and interested.

I’m going to do posts, but I just might have to make do with a slower rate until I get something sorted out. Gonna try not to go slower and pick up a normal pace again. If you'd rather I go on extended leave, I get that, too. I’m sorry about the mess, but let me assure you that we’re still good. Just a really rough time right now.

Am working, was deemed Essential Critical Infrastructure, but also they just shorted our hours due to the companies we supply metal to having their factories shut down. Don't know how long this will last, as it's impossible to sterilize our plant, so I think it's only a matter of time before we get a quarantine shutdown. I can't post from work anymore, as they dumped four new trainees on our shift and I am needed to train some of them. Will attempt to update tomorrow, as I need to look up cyphers for people who are getting them from the time anomaly.

I'm on a two-week furlough from work now, due to our customers being shut down and nothing much to do in my section of the plant. While we have had several cases of the virus in the plant, none were in my section (my plant is literally a mile long).  There's been maybe ten cases and one death from my plant, and I'm hoping the company will just finally come to its senses and send everyone home for at least two weeks more to stop anything else from happening.

How's everyone else doing?

Five cases and one death in my county and the one next to us.  We're rural, in case you couldn't guess.  I'm still working remotely full time, which is slightly less bad than when we started doing it.

My state has FINALLY started increasing testing, so we're likely to see more reported cases.  I'm really wishing they would also start doing antibody testing, too.

My brother's family was presumptive positive and spent two weeks at home recuperating.  My SIL had it the worst, illness-wise.  My brother was asymptomatic and was on daddy duty 24/7.  Two small kids in the house is ... exhausting.  Now both parents are back to work, which is working from home, so the only change is that they aren't dealing with fevers and aches on top of everything else.

I am enjoying (as a player) Roam's complete sabotaging of Coralian's manipulations of Cole.  She's doing everything she can to wheedle information out of him with honey, and Roam just comes in and pours vinegar on the whole situation.

I was really hoping we could avoid having to murder him to protect ourselves, but I don't think that's gonna work now.  Thought perhaps that's presumptuous of me.  We'll see what tales are yet spun.

Re: OOC Discussion

I now in a position do to an update on what happened in my neck of the woods.  Search for "Iowa derecho" if you want to see exactly what happened, but what basically was going on was that on Monday, August 10th a massive windstorm hit my area around 1:30pm (I was asleep due to my nocturnal schedule, but I woke up in a hurry).  It was a derecho, a straight-line windstorm with winds up to 100mph, though it was about 80mph in my area.  Is sounded like a freight train and looked like a hurricane, with branches and bits of roofing flying by our front windows.  We lost power shortly after the storm and didn't get it back until late evening on Friday the 15th.  We didn't get Internet back until Saturday the 16th, and spent most of Sunday and Monday replacing the food we'd lost from our fridge and ice chest and doing chores we couldn't do with the power out.  We were very lucky in that we (or my parents in the same area) didn't have any house damage and very minimal tree damage. Some folks weren't so lucky. There were trees across roads, trees on houses, and some cities had very massive property damage to a huge amount of homes and businesses (one city to the west of us has people camping in their front yards as they have no place else to stay). There are still roads shut with trees and light poles across them, and we've lost an immense amount of trees everywhere.  Every day for a week the air is alive with the sounds of generators, chainsaws, and woodchippers.  It's going to take weeks to get the branches and trees cleared that fell down during the storm, more to remove the trees that are damaged but still upright, and every third house is sporting a tarp to cover lost shingles, roof damage, or worse. We're one of the lucky ones and I am very grateful right now.

I will hopefully be able to update the game tonight or tomorrow.

Re: OOC Discussion

I just want to make sure I understand Cole's latest statements.  This is what I understand him to mean/believe:

1) He understands that we killed some significant portion of his raptors.
2) He's not really upset about this, just disappointed that his research failed/is set back a bit.
3) He doesn't want a link to Xanadu even though he earlier stated the outposts planned to be linked via the transponders.
4) He wants us to set up the transponders exactly where we suggested they shouldn't go.  He wants to test them where they will show effectiveness (or fatal non-effectiveness).
5) He still believes we are full-on, legit SATI reps.

Please let me know if I understand correctly, or need to roll to do so.

If I understood the geography right, from the road, we went north to get to Cole.  We're planning to set up the transponders between his base and the road, but set back from the road a bit to reduce the odds of bad interactions.  Then we're resuming our trek to the northeast.

That right?

While I'm probably not good as you when it comes to fighting, I'm a pretty good tracker as well. Hemon already stated that he prefers to stay there and follow the track in daylight but if Roam wants to go, he can convince Hemon quite easily I guess. Re: OOC Discussion

Hey everyone,

I'm sure you noticed me slowing down my posting in the last few months and weeks. While I am enjoying DMing the game, I have had a flareup (or downturn, I suppose) of my depression due to work factors, home factors, and general world issue factors, which makes it hard for me to work up the wherewithal to post appropriately, or sometimes at all.  Which then can snowball into feeling bad because I haven't posted, but then being too depressed to post, which means I feel bad I haven't posted...

You get the drift.  ;)

I am seeking appropriate professional help to get better/make things more manageable (this isn't my first rodeo). I am going to take a short DMing break whist I get through the first stage of treatment, so I hope to resume posting in just over two weeks.

Everyone remember to take care of yourselves!

Generally one would have to be in the sea, and probably do some genetic manipulation to increase growth speed to surround the dinosaurs with coral.  :D

But if you'd like to get the dinosaurs to stop, slow down, or trot in a circle until they manage to calm themselves, I'd call that two DT 5 dino interaction rolls (dino behaviors, etc counting as an asset).

I have "Draw the pack" if it can help.
Looks like I came late to the party. Good job Roam.

Re: OOC Discussion

I hate to say that but I think I will stop here with this game. I like dinos a lot and it's been really nice to play with you all but the Cypher system is not for me.

Sorry to leave you all like that. Thanks for the work, GM and thanks to all of you for the good time together.

I apologize for my absence. I had six things happen at once, and I hope to update in the next couple of days.

Thank you Hemon, I hope to play with you again sometime.

I will keep up as best as I can, I just started training at United Airlines today.

Fine by me as well, Hemon!

I'm sorry for my silence - I am still struggling with depression and adjusting my treatment plan.

Depression still kicking my butt. Luckily I am taking a vacation this coming week, so hopefully that will do me some extra good.

Re: OOC Discussion

If any of you would like to play Predation live, I'm starting up a campaign via Discord (audio, etc.) and Roll20 (character sheets).  Sessions would be weekly or biweekly.  Tentively sessions start at 6:00 p.m. Saturday night, U.S. Central time.

PM me if interested.

I'm not dead.  I'm still tending to my mental health, but I am alive. Not sure when we'd be able to resume, but just letting people know what's going on!
