Landing/Recovery: Knight 4

As Meiko heads towards the SDF-1 a large rectangular shape (sitting lengthwise) rises from behind it. The shape twists and turns revealing itself to be an ARMD class space carrier.

voice with US southern accent:
"Knight Four, this is Enterprise. Macross has handed you off to us. You should see us maneuvering. Are you capable of making a VTOL landing or do you need to trap?"

Her own accent is deeply affected by her time in the Marines, and was a fairly neutral rural Pennsylvania dialect to begin with.

"Music to my ears, Enterprise.  Knight Four is fully maneuverable, I am currently flying Guardian and can VTOL.  Altering course to Two-Seven-Zero to put you full on my.. shit where is my nose?  You got a pressurized bay for me Enterprise?"

She laughs a little, and tries not to think about this bird being on her last legs.

Re: Landing/Recovery: Knight 4

voice with US southern accent:
"Knight Four your directed to land in auxiliary airlock designated Alpha-Six. Its the only airlock on the starboard side that we're opening up."

As Knight Four approaches the UES Enterprise its pretty clear the vessel has sustained moderate damage and is even venting atmosphere from a few places. Sure enough on starboard side of the vessel there is only a single airlock with room for one mecha open.

The deck of the airlock has the lettering 'A6' on it, indicating that this probably auxiliary airlock six.

Meiko bring her severly daamged VF-1A in for a VTOL landing. A pair of ground crewman (in CHR-1 Hostile Environment Suit's) guide her in. As soon as she lands the airlock doors begins to close, and not a moment too soon as Meiko begins to feel light headed. It's still a takes a minute for the airlock to pressurize. This is signaled by a green light coming on and the inner airlock door to open. One of the ground crew leads the VF-1 to a parking spot in the mostly empty hanger deck of the space carrier.

The hanger is rather full, but the veritech's and space fighters are scattered about indicating that a rather quick recovery had occurred and that there hasn't been time to organize the birds. Not only that but despite it being a USN and USAF crewed vessel half of the craft have French (Air Force & Navy) insignia and markings. There are only ten veritechs present belonging to four different squadrons, about 50 SF-2A Lancer Space Fighters belonging to seven separate squadrons, and about 40 Ghost fighters (both manned and drone versions) belonging to seven separate squadrons.

Re: Landing/Recovery: Knight 4

"Roger Enterprise.  Thank you."

She takes a moment to soak in that she lived through that, then exits her craft once she is properly parked.

She looks to the ground crew, seeking out whoever might be in charge.

"Chief, we got a ready room?  Where do they need the pilots?"

She will also look for where pilots are heading, while looking about for missing space bits to her flight gear... probably asking the same crew people.

"If I need to go back up, I need to be space worthy.  Need the space gear."  She looks back at her craft, shakes her head slightly.  "She can still fight, but I need radar bad."

She smiles a moment.  "Thanks for taking care of me."  Then she follows the pilots, or goes where is designated.

OOC:  I guess she might have been on one of these during training and might know where to go for debriefing.

Upon exiting her plan the senior member of the ground crew greets Meiko to the UES Enterprise. "Welcome to the Enterprise Ma'am."

The crew chief looks over the VF-1, the look on his face isn't encouraging. "Ma'am this bird isn't going up again anytime soon, but she'll fly again."

Meiko is then escorted off the hanger deck by a different crewmen and led to a ready room that has an adjacent head/locker room. Of the 40 some odd chairs in the briefing room most are filled with pilots. There is some small talk between groups. The large flat screen TV on the wall has the words 'DEBRIEFING in 7:49'. The numbers are counting down.

She smiles to the chief.  "Thank you, chief.  A minute longer would have been too long."

She frowns, looking back at her craft.  "Do what you can.  That cockpit leak is priority, it's somewhere behind the seat."  She sighs.  "I know, you have your plate full.  I will fill out the 2404 for you if you want with what I know.. later, ok?"

She sets her stopwatch against that countdown, then she takes a minute to use the head, grabs a cup of coffee from the urn and finds a seat as close to the front as possible, unless she sees someone she knows, then she will sit close to them/talk to them, she keeps her helmet which is tucked under her arm and tries to control the 'coming down from adrenaline' shakes, but even then she splashes her hand a little.  Hard to go from fight for your life to briefing so quickly.  She hopes no-one notices much.

She will greet whoever she sits by, trying English first, or Japanese if that seems appropriate.

Re: Landing/Recovery: Knight 4

Meiko chit chat's with another pilot and finds out that from Space Battle Group ONE the UES Constitution was destroyed and that the UES Invincible was heavily damaged. From Space Battle Group TWO, the UES Clemenceau was lost with all hands. About 50% of both the air groups from the UES Clemenceau and UES Enterprise were able to be recovered.

The conversation is cut short by the arrival of a US Navy Commander. He is still wearing his flight suit and belong to one of the SFA-2 Lancer squadrons. "For those who don't know me my name is Commander Jenkin's. Our situation is that the UES Macross conducted a space fold operation 1000 meters above Macross Island. Captain Gloval did this in an attempt to get the UES Macross away from island and it's civilian population. The space fold operation created what the scientists are calling a 'bubble' that took Macross Island and the surrounding ocean with it. The defold was supposed to occur on the other side of the moon, but that didn't happen and we defolded near the dwarf planet Pluto." The monitor turns on and shows Macross Island floating in space, along with the UES Macross. Both the UES Prometheus and UES Daedalus can be seen as well. "Once the UES Macros' air group clears the island of hostile she will begin recovery operations of the civilian population."

"In the meanwhile the Enterprise will be getting a BAR CAP up with the airframes that can be quickly turned around." The monitor then lists all of the airframes that as of now can be sent back up, Meiko's VF-1A is not on the list.

"All non Enterprise pilots need to check in with admin and we'll get you set up with a temporary bunk assignment. I know everyone just flew combat but if your not going to be part of the BARCAP its suggested you get some sleep or rest, we may send you up as part of the second BARCAP rotation."

"So now you all know what I know. I have just as many questions as you probably do."

"Dismissed."

OOC: I don't agree with Pluto being called a 'dwarf' planet, but since it is I'm going to use it.

Re: Landing/Recovery: Knight 4

Glad to see her ship made it, and feeling a little cold and sick about all the death, she tries to push past it and maintain her poise.

Meiko stands with the others and quickly finds out where this admin is that she needs to report to, arriving in her flight suit with her helmet still tucked under an arm.  She does have her ID, thankfully, in a thigh pocket so she is able to present it to administration.

"Lieutenant  Levina, VFMA-314 from the Prometheus.  My Valkyrie is under maintenance and I am ordered to rest, I need bunk assignment."

She will go wherever she is offered, and look into food as her first order of business.

"Are we to be kept on ready watch?"

She will say hello to any Marines she sees, and be friendly to any fleet marines providing security, bolstering their morale.

"Don't worry Marines, flying devil dogs give em hell."

Re: Landing/Recovery: Knight 4

Meiko receives a bunk assignment in 'female officer country' within is two person stateroom. Both occupants were either KIA or did not recover onboard the UES Enterprise during the battle in orbit above Earth.

Another pilot, a French woman from a UES Clemenceau SFA-3 Lancer squadron. She doesn't give her name and just cries herself to sleep.

Re: Landing/Recovery: Knight 4

Meiko will quickly square away her area, then head to the ship's exchange to get a few necessities.  She'll leave the personal items of the former occupants alone, carefully packing them into spare drawer or kit bags if found.  They might be alive, or they might be dead, but respect is needed.

She takes a shower once she has some clean clothes to change into, even if she has to raid personal belongings in the room (last resort!).

She also tries to drop by supply to get vacuum attachments for her flight suit, and other personal needed gear.  (Not sure what else).

She sets her alarm for six hours.

she leaves the crying woman alone at first, but crumples to need and visits her bunk, gently putting a hand on hers and kneeling beside her.

...Damn... wish I knew some French...

"Hey... anything I can do?"  She asks softly.

She plans on sleep, though, sleep is good.

Re: Landing/Recovery: Knight 4

Meiko is easily issued a flight mask and O2 pack for exo-atmospheric operations. The ships PX is well stocked and the Marine finds she isn't the only one to have arrived with just the clothes on her back.

Getting back to her room she tries to comfort the French SFA-3A pilot. The shit chat for a bit. Meiko learns that over half of the other woman's squadron of 16 SFA-3A Lancer space fighters was either shot down or didn't recover on the UES Enterprise. She then goes on to say that the smallest of the enemy vessels was 500 meters long.

Upon waking and checking in with flight ops Meiko finds her name on a list of personnel (all veritechs pilots) who are to be transferred to the UES Macross in several Rabbit shuttles.

Re: Landing/Recovery: Knight 4

(Did an update on post JUST as you posted, lol, damnit!  Someone came up and talked to me causing me to delay 15 minutes!)

She will check on her temporary bunkmate again before she leaves, gives her her basic name and assignment to look her up if she needs a friend, gets a name.

She nabs a clean pair of undies if she was unable to procure any, leaves a note, and a small bag to put what little she has in, then reports to supply to get her face mask and O2 for ops, check on what else she can get.

Re: Landing/Recovery: Knight 4

Meiko and the french pilot exchange names and then go about their respective duties. When checking in she is told to bring anything she bought at PX with her.

Reporting to the flight deck, Meiko is shown whihc Rabbit shuttle she will be embarking on. Entering the shuttle she finds that the other six people within (aside from the pilot) are all veritech pilots, all from different squadrons.

OOC: OK I edit my post from earlier, I think I made everything jive with the post you made after it. You name the French pilot if you want.

Meiko tells Sarah Champlain to look her up if she needs a friend, and that she is heading for the SDF-1.

She boards the shuttle with her little kit bag, and greets the other pilots with a smile, settling her helmet and vac gear in her lap while they wait.

OOC - It's good!
