This is an OOC discussion for the characters who are or will be piloting a destroid.

The player character destoid unit (Mike Battery) is a US Army air defense battery/company that was originally comprised of ADR-04 Defender destroids.

After the battle of Pluto there was some re-organization, and Mike Battery consists of the following 16 mecha:

• 04x ADR-04A1 Defender
• 04x MBR-04 Tomahawk
• 04x ADR-03A1 Cheyenne
• 04x SDR-04A1 Phalanx (not yet built in game, but will be by the time you get to Saturn)

It is up to the player character Marie Chambers, who is currently the Battery Commander until she screws up IC or is killed to determine how the mecha are divided into platoons.

The PC's will all be in the same platoon, and I am not against there being a mix of different mecha in the platoon.

I know there are some people who want to pilot Spartans but there are not that many onboard, and is not suited to long range anti-missile/mecha defense.

But the Tomahawks can be equipped with a light weapons 'jacket' to give them hands. I will let the Battery/Company have up to two of these.

Anyhow you guys can use this thread to figure out who will operate what type of mecha during the Battle of Saturn. I haven't decided what quadrant/part of the ship you will defend, but depending on your performance in combat that part may be destroyed or seriously damaged.

I am going to break up the battery into four platoons. Each platoon has one of each: Tom, Chey, Phalanx and Def. This gives each platoon a layer of defense. The long lance will be the Phalanx, spewing missiles, the second medium-long range will be the Defenders, for point defense/missile defense, we'll use the Cheys as long as we have them. Then, for deck cleaning, and similar CIWS with the P-beams will be the Toms.

Oh, and Marie can operate Defs and Lanx's. The others are fairgame, though I suggest whomever operates the Chey take defender too, we have a finite supply of Cheys, and once their gone, I'll probably move the pilot to a defender or another Lanx, depending on effectiveness, availability and need.

I firmly recommend every Def and Chey pilot have the ECM skill to jam Zentraedi radar and coms... Just my thoughts on the matter.

As an FYI there will be time between battles to get trained up in a different type of destroid.

Not exactly......the Zero G combat training is for the characters who never got formal training in it.

But instead of another MECT you get to do paperwork and other stupid stuff associated with being the HMFIC.

Well if I must pick one skill to advance by level, I still take ECM. If there is a free zero-g program, she takes her class before saturn. You are confusing me.

The ‘new’ Destroid pilots will only have time to be trained in one mecha. So after Saturn and before Mars they will get a chance to learn the MOS skills they didn’t get a chance to learn.

Since I can't get a Spartan how about a Tomahawk?
