Veritech Replacement Pilot training

On August 10, 2009 a little over a week after the Battle of Saturn and being assigned to the UES Macross a number of pilots from the 6th UN Spacy Air Group, which had previously been assigned to the Saturn moon bases begin training to become veritech pilots.

With everyone already a rated Space Fighter or Shuttle pilot the training is solely focused on transition training to the VF-1 airframe. The first three weeks are focuses on the basic operation of the VF-1 and the last three weeks focuses on aerospace combat maneuvering. Training is conducted both within a simulator and while operating the trainer variant of the VF-1 Valkyrie, the VT-1T. The VT-1T’s themselves appear to have recently saw combat around Saturn as evident by various scorch marks and marring of the paint.

Furthermore, with everyone being a rated pilot there are none of the typical fuck fuck games that would occur as if those attending the course were newly commissioned pilots.

OOC: You can use this thread to post what your character did in the week after the Battle of Saturn, and on your time off during training.

I do not intend to RP any part of the training, and after a few posts you will 'graduate' and can report into your new unit.

Veritech Replacement Pilot training

Tyler had spent the week following the Battle of Saturn getting cleared for return to duty, hitting the gym and getting into the simulator to get cleared for Flight missions. the battle hadn't been the easiest since the fall of Mimas, the lead pilot of his shuttle had been an older pilot who was looking forward to retirement before the attack began. Captain James 'Ace' Maxwell was a hell of a mentor, but have a heart attack mid evac left the flight crew somewhat up shit's creek until they landed.

Tyler's own call sign of Brick certainly was more earned, everyone joked about about it after the battle, heavy landing, charging through enemy fire to reach fire lines and being narrowly missed. 'Yep, just like a brick, throw it hard enough and it will land hard.' Ace joked about it after they landed. He was fine now, but no Doctor was going to let him fly again. Tyler kept his own stress out of the way, hitting weights. Doing a 15 mile run everyday, which got weird looks, but everyone would always give some kind of comment, 'that's just Brick for you, thick headed.'

Tyler laughed, "If they only knew where the call sign came from." he would simply shake his head and keep on running.
