“Then we do not have to.” Noah said in an encouraging way “but you have a good idea about having Slate take some responsibility, maybe he can give this Changeling what it needs and grow on his own also.”

“You and I need to be on the same page with disciplining him if anything goes wrong.” Seth murmured as he relaxed back into the throne, holding Noah closer still, “Sometimes in the past when I’ve yelled at him, I feel like he hates me. I know it’s part of youth, but I had no idea how badly it hurt until we had him.”

“He dose not hate you, he wants to be like you.” Noah said assuredly “you just do not see the way he looks at you when your not looking.” Noah spoke in a loving way.

He was quiet, holding Noah close and feeling at peace. “If you say so... I just want to do right by him. It’s been strange thinking I knew what we were getting into and then not having anything.”

He gently kissed the Mage’s neck before pulling back slightly to look at him, “So we shall help Slate set up for his new friend? Do you want to call him in or shall I?”

“I think you should go fetch him.” Noah proposed “it will be a good bonding experience for the two of you.”

“You will keep my seat warm then?” He stood up, bringing Noah with him but turned and leaned forward, placing the Mage on the grand throne, “Remember when you first came here? When we had so much fun in this very chair.”

“How could I ever forget such sweet memories, it seems like it has been ages but they are always with me.” Noah could not hide the blush at the mention of such a thing.

Seth kissed the Mage deeply for a long moment, before he departed for Slate’s room. It wasn’t far from where Noah and Seth shared a chamber, but was far enough to afford both adults and child their privacy. Seth changed himself to have more draconian features, long curved horns, scaled and clawed hands and feet and a long tail that tapered to a whiplike end. He changed forward, bounding into his son’s room, roaring with playfulness.

As soon as the door burst open slate jumped from the startle but recognizing the playful intent he was quick to make his way to his bed standing on it for the added height although he was still stood much shorter then Seth. The small draconic Changeling bellowed his own roar which was more of a squeak as a reply. His excitement was obvious as he jumped up and down atop the bed with brimming excitement.

Seth bounded about the room on all four potentially destructive claws before he landed just at the foot of the bed, letting out another bellowing call. He it obvious as he scuffled his backlegs slightly that he was going to jump on the bed with Slate.

“I’m here to stake my claim on these silks!” He demanded in jest. It had been a while since they’d wrestled.

“Come and try I’m so tough!” Slate was defient as he bounced towards the pillows at the head of the bed before still bouncing about.

Seth jumped, shifting back his draconic features back to human so he wouldn’t ruin the bed. He landed, grabbing Slate and rolling with him, “They will be mine!”

“Rawr.” Slate said as he tusssled with Seth his little arms trying desperately to wrap around the Dragon. His energy and excitement were plainly obvious.

“Grrr! Oh! Oh you’re so strong!” Seth wrestled them so Slate was atop his chest, “Too! Strong!” He feigned trying to push the young Dragon off.

“I win!” Slate exclaimed sitting on the Dragons chest. Feeling the starin of endless energy he laid down on his chest.

“This is what I like to see.” Noshs voice came from the doorway

“You must help me! I am trapped under his great strength!” Seth pleaded with Noah, reaching one hand to the Mage, but with the other he gently held Slate in place. He smiled at the willworker, “Sorry to keep you waiting.”

“Oh I did not mind the wait.” Noah said with a chuckle as he stepped into the room.

“Do you want to play with us to ?” Slate questiond nuzzling against Seth before popping his head up to look at Noah.

“I do not know if I can handle that, your already so strong.” Noah said taking a seat on the bed.

“I am really strong.” Slate had no problem bragging.

“He’s strong, I believe he needs a new challenge.” Seth playfully pretended to try and push Slate off with no luck before bringing his arms around their son for a hug, “What do you think about that oh Powerful Blakc Dragon of the Abyssal Mirror?”

“I’ll show how strong I am, just like you.” Slate growled with a hint of obvious fun.

“Oh careful now are you sure you can fight so many people.” Noah chuckled.

Seth sat up  and brought Slate to sit on his shoulders, “What do you say we start the next step beyond physical strength? It could be fun depending on how well you do.. And maybe, if you do well, I’ll give you these candies that Alexos gave to me to hold on to for you.” He smiled at Noah, “You think it’s time?”

“Now is as good a time as any other.” Noah agreed while Slate looked rather puzzled by what the adults were discussing he could tell it was about him but he could not grasp the full breath of what they were saying.

“Alright, come on you two.” Seth said, standing with Slate still sitting atop his shoulders. He waited for Noah and brought them to the throne room where the egg still sat on a meager nest to one side. There seemed to be an energy buzzing around it.

“Well, that’s strange.” Seth commented as he walked them closer, directing his question to Noah, “Was it like this when you left Love?”

“It was not that is rather strange ...” Noah added, the adults lack of knowing what was happening was not missed by Slate who somewhat hid seeing his parents being puzzled.

“Come now you.” Seth gently lifted Slate from his shoulders and past him to stand on his own feet. He fashioned a webbed wing that was see through and used it to act as a shield for their child as they approached, Seth leaning to one side to hold the child’s hand with the wing folded around him, “I believe we’re about to see something magical happen.”

As the trio approached, there were already a dozen hairline cracks in the shell as it became obvious that whatever was inside was hatching.

Slate kept hidden behind the wing only ever moving forward if he felt Seth moving behind him. Noah remained quiet but observant to the side of the room.
