The fractures deepened and suddenly the egg splintered as an armful of downy feathers, beak and claws tumbled onto the floor a few steps from the Dragons, squeaking as it cried out.

“Are you scared of it?” Seth asked as he unfolded the wing, leaving just enough for Slate to hide himself.

Slate held the edge of Seth’s wing as he looked at the little creature sprawled out in front of him, he hesitantly stepped forward squatting down to look at the creature “Are you ok ?” Slate said softly.

It rolled onto it’s stomach and shook it’s feathered body like a dog, before peering up at Slate with large shining gray eyes that glimmered like a prism. It squeaked at him, fluffing it’s small wings at the him.

“I think she’s pretty harmless at this stage,” Seth chuckled before looking to Noah, “You think this will work?”

“Don’t be scared, your safe here.” Slate said getting on his knees trying to find the creatures “do you think it needs something maybe a blanket or something.” Slate said.

“Only time is going to show us. Show him what to do.” Noah answered with a smile.

Seth stooped low to the floor beside the two, “Well, we have no blanket in here, so how about I carry it somewhere it can call home for now? Like... your room?” The Dragon looked at Slate as he carefully extended one hand for the ball of fluff to smell.

The creature blinked between the two Dragons before squeaking and clumsily clamoring to hide it’s head behind Slate.

“I think it’s scared of me.” Seth commented bluntly, “Also, because this is a new beginning, I think we should change her name from whatever they called her to something else. Her eyes remind me of the stone Opals, so how about that? Opal sound good to you?”

“Come here Opal.” Slate said calmly as he approached it with both arms extended as he tried to pick it up. “Don’t be scared.”

The creature looked with a tilted head at Slate, unmoving as he picked her up. She chirped at Slate, her iridescent eyes watching him.

Seth smiled and glanced at Noah, “Let’s set up a little spot in your room for her. She’s going to be your responsibility.” He stood, “Of course we’re both here for you if you need us.”

Slate carried  the creature through the castles lofty halls until they arrived at his room, upon entering the room he brought the creature to the bed and placed it there” “I think you will be comfortable there, Opal.” Slate said before looking for his nearest toy and presenting it to the creature “here you go.” He said with a smile.

“NoH worked a quick spell crafting a small bed for the creature as he looked on with a smile.

Opal chirped and circled the toy with awkward steps.

Seth smiled and put an arm around Noah, “I think this is going to work out well. Maybe he won’t be so lonely.”

“It will be good for him to have a friend around and I think the added responsibility will help him grow.” Noah spoke in agreement watching as Slate tried to further please Opal.

Seth turned and kissed Nosh softly on the lips before he moved toward the bed to address their son, “Is there anything you think you want for Opal right now?”

In turn, she cooed and rolled on the bed.

“I think Opal needs something to eat and drink, it must have taken a lot of work to get out of that egg.” Slate said before hopping up on to the bed.

“Alright, and what about you? Are you hungry?” Seth asked with a smile, squeezing Noah gently to him as he watched the two kids.

Opal tried to follow Slate’s movements, but she was clumsy on her stubby legs.

“Yeah ...” Slate said obviously distracted he moved towards Opal and helped her up useing the power in his little body to help support both him and her.

“Well it looks like this is going better then expected.” Noah said with a smile on his face.

Seth couldn’t stop smiling, “Alright... Your dad and I are going to fix something for you and her then. We’ll be back shortly, okay?”

Opal chirped and squeaked, nuzzling against Slate’s hands.

“Ok I’ll be playing with Opal.” Slate said obviously distracted by Opal.

Noah tugged at Seth to follow him.

Seth grinned and swept Noah off his feet, kissing him and carrying him out of the child’s room, “So... how about I send Noelle to get some snacks of the two of them and you and I can have our own bit of fun? I miss lounging with you... Even if you’re odd.”

Opal squealed and chirped, fluttering her small poofy wings.

Noelle had received the whisper on the hot winds of the Abyssal Mirror that Seth wanted her help in fixing something up for Slate. She carted up some of his favorite snacks as well as a bowl of fruits at Seth’s request and knocked on the door, “Oh Slaaaaaaate!” She sang out, “I’ve got some goodies for yoooooouuuu!”

“And here I had thought I was beginning to lose you interest in such a way.” Noah said with a blush as he was carried away.

“Come in ! Hurry ! It’s urgent.” Slate cried out as his stomach growled with hunger

“You think I’m so fickle?” Seth asked with a smile as they came upon their room, “Then this is perhaps the best timing to change your mind.” He set Noah on their bed, immediately climbing over him and claiming his lips in a deep passionate kiss.

Noelle balanced the tray of treats in one hand and opened the door, shocked to see Slate with a living ball of down feathers. She carried the tray over and smiled as she set it on a table nearby, “You didn’t tell me you had company! So who is your friend here?”

Opal chirped excitedly at the prospect of food as she eyed the goodies.

Noah lost himself in the kiss his hands contrasting against Seth’s skin and his legs wrapped wrong the Fae.

“This is Opal, she just hatched so I am helping her learn things, she is going to live with us.” Slate said eagerly “Opal do you want a treat ? Oh and this is Noelle, she is nice.”

The Dragon’s hands moved to slip beneath Noah’s clothing, working to undressed him as they kept engaged in the kiss.

“Awww, what a couple of cuties you two are!” She gushed before bringing the tray to them for Slate to pick something, “So you need to get some for her then huh?” Her form was that of fiery siren as her form seemed to glide across the floor, her sheer orangey fins dragging on the stone floor, “Maybe if you make a list of stuff you want for her, we could go later in the week.. as long as your dads are okay with it.”

Noah relaxed in Seth’s grip opening himself to the dragons desires

Slate lives from the strange assortment of treats upon the platter presenting one of Arcadia’s oddities to Opal “This one is my favorite Opal you should try it!” Slate said with excitement. “We will be to go get lots of nice things for Opal, Noelle, like clothes and her own toys and whatever girls like.” Slate did his best to sound like a well studied five year old

Seth broke their liplock just long to pull Noah free of his shirt, his hands quickly then moving to work of removing the rest of his garments. He leaned close to his diamond whispering, “I love you.”

Noelle laughed as she watched the two. Opal nudged the favored treat to test it before looking at Slate and then trying to peck at it.

“So you write a list and we’ll go shopping, Okay my Grand Dragon?” Noelle made an exaggerated bow.

“I love you.” Noah said unabashedly relaxing his arms “we have not been able to be like this in a long time.”

“I can try to write it.” Slate responded knowing that writing was not yet one of his strongest skills. “Hear Opal let me help you.” Slate picked up the food in his cupped hands.

“I’m sorry.. I didn’t mean to neglect you or make you feel lonely.” Seth replied between soft kisses, “Would you do the me honor of allowing me to make it up to you right now?”

“Okay, it’s up to you then.” Noelle smiled as she watched Opal start eating directly out of Slate’s hands.
