As soon as Roy thought he caught up to Uaine, he jogged to a stop - taking a moment to pause to take in the magnificent building. With hands on his hips, he watched Uaine run off again - shaking his head, "I'm not getting that piggy back ride, aren't I?"

He sighed and looked over his shoulder - waving a lazy hand over to anyone left back on the ship. Roy turned his eyes back to Uaine and grimaced. His fellow man was already a distance away. He muttered to himself as he started to catch up to Uaine again, "The piggyback ship has already sailed, I suppose."

Basil had been lost in thought, but he couldn't help but laugh a little at Roy demanding a piggy-back ride from Uaine. He wondered what it would be like to be able to make a joke of everything, a feeling a little jealous of Roy's ability to lighten the mood, but it was also reassuring to have a reminder that not everyone was judging him.

He kept quiet during the tour, staying close to (and sometimes behind) either Roy or Uaine the entire time in a subconscious attempt to stay hidden from the scarier members of their group. Luckily, he didn't find Jet to be terribly threatening, and paid attention to both his introduction and his tour - Basil was certainly not the type to disregard a senior's advice, and was not much of a rebel, so he didn't think he had much to worry about there...

The boy nodded at Jake's notification that the headmaster was waiting in the auditorium for them, then turned to head in that direction. He'd never actually met Professor Ozpin before, but he'd heard quite a bit about the man over the past four years, thanks to his sister's letters. He sounded interesting, and was someone Basil was actually looking forward to meeting...

Ósk gladly took the cookie and devoured it along the tour, just where did she stuff all of that? The whole exchange about protocols and rules for landing simply escaped her, if she had more than two ounces of national pride she would be ashamed of it, as things stood she had no such feelings. Someone from Mistral that didn't know the first thing about flight and just now had her first one? That had to be a joke. The only bit that did register was that about listening to the few rules of the place.

Once the tour was finished, it was clear for Shadea that she had just landed the big one, the whole place, its many facilities, it was like a luxurious resort compared with pretty much anything she had experienced before. She was thoroughly impressed, if it didn't show.

With the last instructions, she headed for the auditorium, still looking around for that mouse of a boy who somehow eluded her...

Akio followed along with the tour dully, barely paying attention to what was going on. He tried not to show it on his face, though- etiquette had to be maintained, after all, no matter how little he cared about the location of the registrar's office. He also did his best to ignore the antics of the others- again, he was trying to be serious, and piggyback rides were not on the "serious" menu.

Lilac couldn’t focus on anything that Jet said enough for it to stick. This man was triggering her senses with the type of deep held heart ache that Lilac tackle hug her mom for. It's not the normal raw sadness, but some scar on his soul that only shows itself in the wrinkles of the eye. Lilac wanted nothing more than to Glomp onto this man until he stopped. But she doesn’t know him, and if Jet is like her mother it will just come back later.

Lilac couldn’t keep listening to the endless rending of paper hearts, so she tried to turn off her Semblance. She stood still. ‘Seven in,’ Her aura came to life around her as she closed her eyes, and took a breath deep. ‘hold four, seven out.’ As she let out the breath her aura dissipated.

Lilac looked hopelessly lost. She looked around for a bit before finding the group which had moved a little without her. When she rejoined the group she slid in next to Layla who at least felt like the most well adjusted member of the group she was with. But while the group did make Lilac feel more comfortable, even if she was standing near Osk the pillar of gluttony and rage, she couldn’t forget the feeling of deep seeded grief. Even if it is a passing thing it hurts to not have the ability to help. She needs a hug, but she doesn’t know anyone that well.

Lilac turns to Layla ”Can I hold Timothy for a bit?”

Layla seemed to pick up on jets grief as well, though not quite as deeply as lilac- quite literally- felt it. She takes the cookie snub in stride, hardly batting an eye. She pays attention to the tour, not so much listening to jets words as focusing on the scenery around them.  When lilac asks for Tomothy, she hesitates, then smiles. that would be fine by me, but i think you should ask him... she says with a chuckle. Up on her shoulders, Timothy seems to become animate, and turns to Lilac and waves!

“Timothy, can I have a hug?” Lilac holds out her arms. When she gets ahold of the stuffed animal she wraps her arms around him, and tucks him under her chin. “Thanks.”

Lilac begins to move towards the auditorium, but makes sure that Layla is close behind. She doesn’t want to move too far when hold the other girls robot. ‘I don’t feel any metal… Weird.’

One by by one, you all filter into the halls of Beacon Academy's Auditorium, to join the faceless masses of returning students, some of whom you will undoubtedly come to know during your stay at Beacon. There are a few minutes in which you may socialize, as Glynda Goodwitch and a man, presumably the headmaster, stands on the stage, calmly observing the crowd.

Then the man, dressed in black accentuated by a green scarf, steps up to the microphone. His hair is grey and his face speaks of weariness, though there is the barest trace of a smile on his lips. With no preface, he begins to speak, seemingly not caring if you pay attention or not.

I'll...keep this brief. You have traveled here today in search of knowledge--to hone your craft and acquire new skills. And when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people. But I look amongst you, and all I see is wasted energy, in need of purpose – direction. You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step.

His words, intentionally vague, cut off abruptly as he turns and limps off the stage, leaving a somber silence in his wake. Did he really mean to suggest that becoming a Huntsman wasn't a purpose of its own- after all, wasn't that the whole point of the school? Whether you are plagued by such thoughts or not, Glynda Goodwitch steps up the the microphone and speaks.

Freshman, you will be sleeping in the ballroom tonight, and tomorrow your initiation begins. Be Ready! The staff will provide bedding, if necessary.

As usual, her voice is short and clipped, and then she walks off the stage, too, leaving you all to your own devices.

Herded into the Auditorium along the rest, Ósk took a spot towards the front, entertaining the idea that whatever they were going to be told would be of importance. To her disappointment, it was nothing but some kind of cryptic deem meaning message, deep meaning that escaped her... But it was likely that whoever was stuck standing behind the tall gal was even more disappointed than her. Glynda Goodwitch however provided more useful information than Ozpin, at least to their immediate future. Shadea for one couldn't wait to get some rest, trekking for as long as she had wasn't exactly restful, although her tiredness was hard to notice over her whole general demeanor.

Sure there was still some space left until nighttime but first things first, dumping her armor and other belongings where they were to be sleeping later. Perhaps then find something to entertain herself with, perhaps someone she found despicable to torment a little. Then again, she found lots of people to be despicable, even at a mere glance...

What was the point of that speech? As far as Lilac could figure it was questioning whether anyone in the room made the correct choice in coming here. Then he just leaves without even any of the normal pleasantries. It's almost insulting, and just off putting enough stop Lilac from asking the most important question until Glenda was half way out the door.

"So, is the cafeteria open!" Lilac yelled, but got no response from the fleeing professor. She then turned on her fellow students, and with stuffed animal still tucked under her chin declares. "I haven't had real food since breakfast. who wants to go raid the cafeteria."

She turns her attention to Shadea. "You, You look like the type to still be hungry, and if not you still ate way too much sugar. So lets go get you an antacid"

Stopping on her tracks, Ósk turned to face the stranger, hunching over a little. "I could eat more yes, if you pay..." Said the big gal, not making it sound too much like a suggestion. She was tall alright but by no means did Ósk look thick or broad built, she was kind of slender even and where did she stuff all what she seemed capable of eating was anyone's wonder.

Ósk was happy to abuse the kindness and generosity extended to her so far, if not to try and coerce it later. But still, she had to wonder, did these people enjoy feeding her? Just how much wealthier than her they were to be able to be so wasteful? What was an antacid...? Right! Leaning in kind fo uncomfortably close she inquired."What is an antacid?" A stupid question to most, but with a background like hers, such 'luxuries' were just unknown.

Akio was somewhat perplexed. Was that it? He wondered to himself as he looked around at the other students, hoping that someone would provide clues. Eventually, looking for someone who might be able to clarify the situation, he bumped into Shadea, who was asking about antacids.

"Antacids are exactly what they sound like: anti-acid medicine. Specifically, anti-stomach acid medicine, for those who suffer from certain stomach troubles or heartburn," he said, dryly. "If you require such a thing, I believe the school has an infirmary that should be fairly stocked up."

Uaine blinked at the headmaster's speech. Was he trying to weed out the people who weren't good enough to make it through the training? That made no sense, since Beacon wouldn't have accepted anyone without the qualifications to enter the academy. Was he trying to steel everyone for difficult times? No that didn't make sense either. Perhaps he was being cryptic for the sake of being cryptic. Uaine had heard stories of pre-Academy Huntsmen Masters doing so to force their students to grow, but the tradition was just too archaic.

In the end, Uaine decided to voice his opinion. "Well that was... Certainly a speech."

When the freshmen were released for the evening, Uaine stretched as he walked outside. There was still quite some time until evening, and no one had said anything they were forbidden from doing. Besides, he thought to himself, he'd waited long enough to feel the wind in his hair. He called out to the people he met. "Hey, I'm going to do a bit of exploring. Anyone care to come with?"

The sailor youth set his bag down and began to work Fragrach out of the packed pack. It was rather clear what he planned to do.

"What about acid ants? Where is the medicine in that word? Not so intuitive, is it?" Was she being defensive? Or was she being abrasive just for the fun of it? There wasn't a lot to say about reasons one could have to be like that, but then again, there weren't many palatable or wholesome reasons behind much of what she did. "I am fine, now. But who knows if I will later on? Perhaps you should get me some just in case." Ósk said, a somewhat creepy and awkward smile drawing on her face, as if she was somehow enjoying herself.

Roy had hung onto every word that the headmaster had spoke. The romantic in Roy nearly swooned at the semi-apocalyptic imagery that the headmaster had projected. It left him quaking in his boots. Soon, thereafter, his excitement slipped over the edge as Glynda Goodwitch took over with a sentence.

Roy took a deep breath and clenched his heart as Ozpin's words, "A better purpose, huh?" He muttered to himself. A crooked smile tugged at the corner of Roy's lips before he looked behind him. Basil had been hiding behind him and Uaine this entire time - Roy had almost forgotten about him. He flashed a pearly white grin at the smaller boy, "Hey, bud. Wanna go exploring too? Food might sound good too. I'm a bit terrible at making decisions."

"I suppose it would, technically, constitute a speech, yes," Akio said dryly to Uaine. "In the same way that certain kinds of tree bark are, technically, edible." He shook his head.

He then turned back to Shadea, and raised an eyebrow. "...is this trolling? Is that what is happening? Because I do not believe I have ever been trolled in person before."

While Akio and Shadea are talking, Lilac quickly returns Timothy to Layla. "Thank you for letting me borrow Timothy, he is very good at being comforting." Looking down at the stuffed animal, "Thanks for the hugs Timothy."

Lilac rounded back into the previous conversation, and seized the opportunity to push the joke with the other girl. She failed to hide a smile while speaking to Akio. "What, why would you keep your ant acid in the infirmary? You need to keep it in the Cafeteria where it kills the ants, not in the medicine cabinet where it kills you. Have you never seen the old cartoons where people put rat poison in their coffee because they keep it next to the sugar?"

"I don't believe we have to pay for the cafeteria food." Lilac gave Shadea a confused glance. "Campus Facilities are covered for, or at least thats what I was told." Lilac's smile twisted with worry as she gazed off into her memories. "Actually All mom said was that I didn't need to bring any extra food money with me when I left. I have questions that need answered! To the cafe!" Lilac throws her head back nearly stabbing anyone that might be behind her with her horns, and moves off towards the door.

Suddenly blank faced, all her previous apparent amusement gone, Ósk stared at Akio for a second. "Preemptive measures are no joke. More importantly however, are you saying that we are hideous monsters and that we belong living under a bridge? That is not very nice... How awful of you. You should definitely get me those antacids now." Her voice calm, collected, even drowsily soft. Yet the slasher smile she gave him held nothing but the promise of violence.

Shadea was only spared injury by enthusiastic horn because of her lagging behind while talking to Akio, those things were a menace, specially for someone of her height. "That is very generous of them, isn't it?" Shadea said as she went after Lilac, the promise of free food for days to come was too alluring and ought to be corroborated. "Say, what else is freely given to us here?" For someone like Ósk, who had spent a great deal of her time roaming in the wilderness, hurting and robbing people to provide for herself, the mere thought of so much of their needs being covered so freely, baffled her. It made sense though, that way the students had only to worry about their studies and training.

Suddenly from the sky descended a chopper a police chopper of some kind.   As it descended further and further down it would no doubt draw a great deal of attention from the students who had to be pushed back by the teachers to make sure they were safe.  Once it landed a few cops stepped out the chopper and made sure the area was secured once that was done they opened the door and out of the door stepped a boy a rather tall boy too, say the least.  He had handcuffs on his hands and he was escorted to the head teacher who began to mumble a few words back and forth.  Suddenly one of the younger cops turned to the boy and smirked at him looking rather self-satisfied with himself.  However, the boy smiled and said in a rather loud and rough voice, "Oh what's that pig you look like you did something but look at things now I'm about to become a hunter rather than rotting in cell how's that make you feel pig."  The cop didn't seem too pleased with that and struck the boy right in the chest with his club but it didn't seem to do a damn thing to the boy.  What did happen next would take everyone by surprise as he leaned back with a rather sick smile and he than jutted forward smashing the cop right in the face breaking the cop's nose.  The other cops were about to start beating the boy but the teacher intervened making the police uncuff the boy and hand her a weapon they were holding.  The teacher then began to speak to the boy who looked rather upset.  He then turned around and began to the walk to the other students a rather intimidating visage on his face as he looked down on the others simply saying, "The names Cole Schwarz."  He looked rather upset as if he was being forced to do this as than grew silent not really wanted to speak any longer than he had.

"...I know this is supposed to be a joke, but you really ought to work on your material," he says to Lilac. "Unless I'm supposed to be laughing at the prospect of accidental poisonings."

Then he looked to Shadea. "No, no. Trolling is when you deliberately antagonize someone for the purposes of provoking a reaction, presumably for entertainment purposes. It is clear, however, that you are simply uneducated. One hopes your time at the Academy will fix that."

As Shadea ran off, Akio witnessed the grand entrance of the new troublemaker. "Really, provoking authority here, when you are surrounded by some of the greatest warriors in the world?" He says, taking out a fan and holding it to cover his mouth. "You truly must have a deathwish."

“Well we get a personal scroll, uniforms,” Lilac pauses trying to remember anything else that may be given. “Books?” Lilac shrugged at Shadea while walking backwards. “You still have to by your own stuff while off campus, and they don’t provide groceries so I’m gonna have to buy baking ingredients.”

When the helicopter landed Lilac was so happy she was blocking out her semblance. Emotions seemed to be running high what with all the angry policemen, and insults this would be unbearable. Lord knows how she will ever be able to sleep tonight. Either way best method for getting people to calm down is to put food in their face.

Lilac ran up to Cole, and held out her hand for a handshake. "Hey, I’m Lilac, this is Akio,” She nods her horns towards the boy in question. “And Back there is, Well get her name later. Either way we’re going to get food before its time to bed down. You wanna come?”

"Convenient..." It was amazing to see how much was freely given for the promise held by potential and the given guarantee to use it for 'good'. Given that Lilac had backpedaled to extend her invitation to the new arrival, Shadea took the opportunity to some of the same and try to correct the antacid guy. "The correct term would be uninformed. Your big city slang mean nothing to me. You getting me those antacids would mean a world however." Gauging people was a sport of it's own as far as Ósk was concerned, yet the show with the new arrival, had the tall gal instantly put Cole in a box. Loud, flagging himself and worst of all, caught like a chump... The later however was likely a product of the first ones she figured.

Leaning closer to Akio and with a hand mimicking his use of the fan, Shadea commented almost in a whisper with a somewhat smug smile. "Look at the tough guy bragging about getting caught and having to hide behind the academy's skirt... Isn't it amusing?" She couldn't help but wonder if he would take on Lilac's offer and come with them to have a meal. Ósk certainly hoped he would, he was certainly entertaining to watch, would he be so gratuitously violent with the staff and students of the academy as well?

Cole let out a rather loud yawn and stretched out his rather long and muscular form at what Akio had said to him.  He was clearly ignoring Akio for a decent amount of time before turning back his attention to Akio.  He looked down at Akio and said, "Hmm what's that oh excuse me your, highness, I'm so terribly sorry to trouble you with my presence."  His voice dripping in sarcasm and spite as he leaned down to Akio and continued, "But you know your, highness, it almost sounded like you were trying to threaten me.  I doubt someone as ‘noble’ as you would want to sully their reputation with such a remark.“ He was of course, referring to the deathwish remark with a wide grin on his face he quickly slapped the back of Akio with enough force to be felt but not enough to cause any kind of damage almost as if he was begging Akio to take a swing at him.

He then turned his attention to Osk his eyes narrowing he knew her type he could tell at just a glance.  She was like him a criminal someone who grew up with nothing and had to fight for everything.  However, he also knew what she was trying to do he grinned at her saying, “Who said I was bragging?  Do you always just assume whatever you want?”  He didn’t really care it was more so to tell her he was not afraid of her not even a little.

He then turned to Lilac looking down at her and her hand.  He was bit confused he was criminal he expected to be treated poorly and he didn’t care if people wanted to start something he would finish it.  However, he didn’t hesitate he liked the respect given to him and she seemed a bit similar to him with her love of training given her body type.  He took her hand his grip was incredibly strong and tight however he didn’t seem to be doing so to be done with malicious intent it was more his own natural strength. When he did shake her hand she would notice a rather strange occurrence as she suddenly felt a little weak it seemed to pass quickly but it was an odd feeling to, say the least.  He than said, “I guess I could eat.”  It was rather clear he didn’t care that she was a Fanus if anything he seemed kinda accepting of it.  He then turned around and looked like he wanted to get moving but he did wait a few moments waiting for everyone else to join him for the time being at least.

And right off the bat everyone is at each other's throat. At least with Akio, and the big girl it seemed harmless, but this Cole guy is just looking to get punched. Lilac heaves a sigh of relief as Cole at least returns her kindness like the other two. Maybe if she can just get them all to eat a good meal with each other then the group of malefactors will calm down, and we can all be friends. Lilac resigns herself to never being able to sleep again unless she can learn to reign in control of her semblance in her sleep.

“Well I would hope you could eat. You just got dropped out of police custody, and prison food is notoriously bad. Or so I’ve heard.” After letting go of Cole’s hand and shaking off that weird numb feeling, Lilac turned on her heel and continued her stride towards the Cafeteria. “Onwards to food!” This time it is Cole that almost dies of enthusiastic horn as Lilac throws her head back.

As the helicopter and clipped exchange of words arrived, Roy was slack jawed. What a cool entrance! The exchange of words could have been more rose-colored in Roy's eyes, but there was that undeniable cool factor that astounded him. Roy closed his eyes in respect for the entrance - nodding as if he were a judge on that show 'Z Factor.'

Roy shook himself out of his reverie. It seemed as if the group was going for food - and the newcomer was more than welcome to join. Roy was just about to suggest something similar to the mousey boy when he paused for a moment. Did Roy squish him? He looked underneath his foot and back tracked behind him. Not there either. Roy pouted. Perhaps his little friend went off to follow a cheese trap or something of the sort. No matter - as long as the friend has having fun. Now where was Roy going to have his fun?

He scanned the area for Uaine, who was busy getting his weapon out of the pouch. Roy couldn't help too much but he happily sauntered over to Uaine - his eyes beginning to twinkle as Uaine unraveled his weapon. "Our mouse friend seems to have followed a cheese trail away from the pack." He looked off into the distance and took a breath of fresh air. He shielded his eyes from the bright sun and looked down on Uaine settling in. Roy grinned, "You're not planning on flying a kite with your good ole pal, aren't you?"
