Posting Guidelines

If you happen to see this, PLEASE DON'T APPLY TO THIS GAME. At present I'm trying this concept out, to see if it's something I'd actually enjoy running.

The usual:
  • Be considerate of others
  • No god-modding (like telling others what their characters think or feel)
  • Choose a color to post your character's dialogue in. Preferably choose a color that represents their hardsuit's color scheme if applicable.
  • Choose a character portrait in the anime style rather than a photograph of an actor. If you can't find one that looks right, just leave the portrait blank and post a picture (if you have one) in your Character Description.

Hardsuits and Mecha
If your character owns a hardsuit or other mecha that obscures their facial features from others, you'll be given a separate RPOL "character" to represent it. Whenever your character is wearing their hardsuit (or piloting their mecha), make your posts under that "character." That way we can more easily keep track of who's in their hardsuit and who isn't. Think of it like wearing a superhero costume (and thus being identified by witnesses as the costumed hero identity) or being in plainclothes.

Anime Conventions (No, Not That Kind)
I usually name characters in accordance with their native cultural rules surrounding given name and surname order. Japanese, Chinese, and Korean names are given with family name first and personal name second, as in Kondo Tsubasa, Zhou Nai-cheng, and Kim Hyeun-ae.

To make it easier for us to play this cyberpunk superhero-sentai game I'm not really planning on diving deep into enforcing Japanese cultural rules. For example, it's considered pretty forward and even rude to address someone by their first name unless they've already given you permission and/or consider you a close friend or romantic interest. Given the increased rate of foreign immigration in MegaTokyo, old cultural strictures are being loosened, so one can get away with such informality more easily.
