Taking advantage of the Rainbow man’s attention being taken by the snake, Gorok took a vicious swing at the husk’s skull.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING STUPID RAINBOW MAN.”

AOA: Success (after using Luck...)
Damage: 18 crushing to the skull.
If he’s facing away, I assume he has -2 to defend for attack from the side, plus -2 for looking down?

Re: A Mess In Marbleton

Faelar waits until everyone else has acted, and then fires an arrow into the husk's eye. A burst of prismatic color washes out from the socket.

Gorok dents the husks's skull, and there is a visible patch of colored lights shining through the husk's skull.

Do'Jherak misses his attack.

Fluffy grapples the husk.
HP: 7/25

Siirist casts a spell.

The laughter shows no sign of diminishing despite the massive amount of damage the husk took, "Kyukkyukkyukkyukkyuk!"

Fluffy again takes a good bit of damage from the blast.

Re: A Mess In Marbleton

The husk gets hit in the skull, and lets out one last chuckle as the light leaves the corpse, "Hahhahhahhahhah!"

The robes fall to the floor of the cavern and the desiccated body sends bits out everywhere. Some of it looks quite a bit like jerky.

Congrats on beating the last enemy in this dungeon! This husk was a only a "boss" in the sense that it was finishing up part of the story. There were other much more difficult enemies that you already fought.

Make any rolls you think are relevant for this room.

He then sets about searching the room for valuables.

Do'Jherak finds a gold-and-ruby signet ring among the jerky remains.

[Private to Siirist Reyzorwyn: Siirist recognizes the markings on the ring as being associated with Lee's rich merchant family.]

[Private to Gorok: Gorok estimates the worth of the item at around $775 (subject to Getting a Good Deal, of course).]

Faelar pulled the arrow out of the eye, the tip was still sharp, It looked good for another shot. The other one was a shattered mess thanks to Gorok's frenzied smashing. The elf shrugged. It was a small price to pay. He thoroughly searched the body and room, looking for items of worth and any hidden doors.

"Tht ring looks pretty valuable," said Gorok, absently picking brains off his flail. "What the hell was that thing. Rainbow demon possessing some corpse or something? This is why you don’t do evil rituals. That shit will mess you up."

"The ring appears to be some sort of marking I have seen recently... now where was that" The Wizard says stooping to look at the ring and scratching his head.
"I think it may have been on the Inn upstairs... or maybe it was the merchant lady was wearing it... I don't remember exactly but something like that."

Re: A Mess In Marbleton

You can all discuss what you want to do with the ring on the way back. To leave the dungeon though you all need to cross back through the room lined with evil runes. That means I need the same HT roll from everyone (after any buffs you cast, of course).

Re: A Mess In Marbleton

The party begins the slow trudge back up to the inn. The walls of the tunnel continue to glow even after ending the threat.

After grabbing all the loot, Gorok looks a bit ridiculous but manages to keep moving forward at a slow pace. Everyone makes it through the evil runes just fine, but Siirist feels really thirsty after his crossing. The rest of the journey is uneventful and soon enough you arrive at the door exiting to the inn.

It takes Lee much longer than the past few times to open the door. When it does finally crack open, you can see Lee holding a knife by her side, but she quickly puts it away when she recognizes you all. She exclaims, "I wasn't sure you lot were still alive after you did not come back last night!"

"Yeah, we got tired and found an evil shrine to sleep in instead of get melted by evil magic," said Gorok. "Also, I think we found your dead uncle. He got killed by some evil magic he was playing with. We brought souvenirs." He smiled and held up the enormous mound of loot.

"This one had his doubts as well." Do'Jherak says, then he fishes the ring out of his pocket, "As Gorok said we did find where your uncle had been 'dabbling' and it had been cleansed. The Wizard believe this ring belonged to him?"

"In any case, the ring belongs to you." the cat-boy says handing it over,"We should wash up from the stench before we go to the market. Perhaps you can help us avoid any merchants who are known to cheat adventurers like us?"

Re: A Mess In Marbleton

Lee is startled by the ring and says, "Uncle Merle's ring! You found it!"

She briefly composes herself and says, "The family had suspicions about Merle, but we could not confirm them. Thank you for giving me the ring, as now we can hopefully keep our name out of the mud. Thank you for taking care of the problem."

With a deft twist, Lee tries the ring on several of her fingers until she finds one it fits on. She continues, "Now, let's discuss a reward for your actions. Certainly this ring is worth a good amount of money by itself, but sadly I do not have that kind of coin on me. What I can do is talk with the Merchant Guild in town and make sure you get the maximum possible amount for anything you sell in the next few weeks. I will also extend your stay here at this inn for free for a week starting now. Does that sound agreeable to you?"

To clarify exactly what the deal is, you would be able to sell stuff as if you were Very Wealthy for the next few weeks in this town. You also get an extended stay at the inn since you've already used a few days.

Gorok shrugged. "Can’t argue with that."

He almost forgot his pants had burned off.

"Hey, would one of you guys mind grabbing me a loincloth? Something more sturdy than my previous pants..."

Gorok spent the next day or so taking advantage of the good sell prices and upgraded his weapon and shield.
