   Jillian stepped into the sparsely populated lounge and walked with the grace of a cat to the bar. Her tights growled as she slid onto one of the high backed bar stools and crossed her legs. "Mirel, this day needs some bubbles." She used her usual name for Trixian bubble juice.

"Ellie Ames is expecting again. Paul Britton is dating Janet Hill. Danielle Kincaid has applied for a transfer from Engineering to Security."

"That's about all. Not much really happens on a starship... at least, not this one."

"Well then we'll just have to liven it up then. Is there a piano player amongst the crew? And maybe a bass player? I could put on a show right here in the Burrow." She picked up her glass and slid off the stool and extended it to point. "We could set up in the corner. Standards, torch songs, songs that make the heart sing." She turned dramatically back to the bartender. "What do you think?"

"That sounds wonderful! I've never been a big fan of hologroups, though there are some rather clever ones. Like the Roundabouts: they play as they walk up the walls and across the ceiling," Mirel answers.

"I'll have to make sure that the patrons and the band all know that the performance could be shut down on the spur of the moment if the ship has a crisis."

"I haven't been here long enough to find out secrets like that. The computer may have some of that info recorded, but not everyone wants to advertise their musical talents."

"Oh, look! Zem D'Sal plays the Ventaxian double-bass! He's that tall handsome Bolian in Science."

"Wow! The computer lists 17 crewmembers that play the piano. Only a few entries indicate any level of competence. Chi Lo in Tactical. Marta Dubar in Ops. And Yelgrun... a Nezu in Medical! Do you know him?"

"Opera, jazz, popular-I once substituted for the headliner at Drozana Station. Our head of security wasn't too happy but Belan" She chuckled in memory. "The owner even let me keep ten percent of the latinum I earned in gratuities, if you haven't guessed Belan is Ferengi. As for dancing, let's hope we can get them on their feet."

"I'll probably stay away from the Klingon operas, after all that's been going on. I've met a few Klingons here and there. They're rather intense, I even met a Klingon opera singer on your home world." Jillian retook her bar stool and sipped her bubbly soft drink.

"Oh, I know that game all too well!" Mirel replied. "If it wasn't invented by old Earth Russians, then the Klingons invented it! They even claim to have written Shakespeare's works! I'm not even sure they crawled out from under a rock yet at that point!" She gave a quick look around to make sure there weren't any Klingons that overheard her.

"Not that I have anything against Klingons... though I can't say that some of my best friends are Klingons... but there was this one... Kosak... She gets a dreamy look in her eyes.

"Anyway, yeah, too much killing in Klingon opera. And I've never heard of one where a female was the heroine of the story, even if we do kick butt!"

Jillian shrugged. "I'd be happy not to be part of one of their operas, they're all so tragic. Klingons need to discover operettas, more whimsy, less blood-a lot less blood!"

Jillian smiled politely as a crewman approached Mirel for a drink and some attention. Patients might fall for her but everyone seemed to fall for the Burrow's hostess. Giving the other woman a knowing smile, Jillian set the remainder of her drink on the bar. Maybe now would be a good time to talk to the captain about permission to hold a concert...

"Koram! You look like you could use some tranya!"

But she waited to pour the suggested drink until he confirmed the order.

"Ah, Eclipse, is it?" Mirel asked. "In this universe, chocolate normally contains a substance called theobromine, which is generally poisonous to cats and dogs and several other domestic animals."

"I'm not saying you are a cat, but even the Caitians can't eat normal chocolate. They have to have chocolate with the theobromine removed. Oddly, that's rather easy to do with the replicators."

"So, in my not-so-subtle way, I'm asking you if you can drink theobromine or does your chocolate not have it?"

"Also, we have both hot and cold chocolate drinks, also with or without alcohol. Which is your preference today?"

"Theobromine isn't a problem, the Turners made sure of that when they designed my species, though that problem was also eliminated with the regular morph species aswell. Though it is interesting about the Caitians as I know some back home that have no problem with regular chocolate. But cold with alcohol will do for now, and preferably strong on the alcohol if possible."

"The only thing stronger would just be chocolate vodka on the rocks, but that's not as chocolatey."

It only takes her a minute to produce the said drink and set in front of Eclipse.

"Are you kidding?" Mirel replied. "Only Klingons drink raktajino straight exclusively, though they don't think adding whiskey to it counts."

"The rest of us keep coming up with some new flavor additive. Vanilla, hazelnut, mocha, cinnamon, caramel, coconut, raspberry and banana are some of the flavors that get added. It's a mood thing, supposedly. The Talaxians add butterscotch and the Wadi add tulaberry juice to it."

"The Arcadians have taken fruit-flavor additives to an artform."

"So, it's hardly sacrilege to add mocha to it."

Mirel finishes speaking as she places the requested drink in front of Miranda.
