I have pretty good idea for the campaign, along with enough set pieces and hooks to start.

I will advertise in Looking for Players and hopefully we'll start soon.

However I still take suggestions in particular I'd like to hear in which era would you prefer the game set (pre-show, in the middle of the war between 6 barons, or current events).

The campaign I have in mind would work in either although I might have to drop or replace some ideas to fit timeline.

Also character sheets are now editable.

I do not have a preference to the format... well I do but I don't insist on that since I realize it might be too much hustle... but if you have ability to Adobe and upload offical-ish character sheet I would appreciate.

Character sheet doesn't accept uploads. Defaults to fixed width text.

I'll get a format together later and you can store it as yours or in the scratch pad and paste it in as characters are added.

I've offered an opinion on when in the timeline thread, but for the sake of consolidating it here. I prefer the warring Barons period or current events. If we choose the current timeline, I suggest we pick a specific episode and make that our starting point and let our story evolve naturally without regard to canon.

Again I am a bit rusty here, but I think only GM can upload character sheets, so the idea is to pass me the sheets through say file sharing site and I'll add it to the game. But like I said it does seem like a lot of trouble

Let me slap one together and get it shared to you and we'll test it.

At the bottom of each character sheet field, when the GM is editing it, there is a box to make the field editable by the player. Sadly it defaults to off so you need to enable all of them, but it is a lot better than fumbling through any other kind of work around.

Hi all :)

Although I've pretty much decided on the Feng Shui archetype I want to use what ones are going to be disallowed as some have gun fu as their main skills

Morgan, sheets are already "user editable", that doesn't appear to allow uploads though.

Oda, Badlands has some amazing gadgets... can the gun-fu you have in mind be adjusted to use same pistol-bows and crossbows?

I was going to take the big bruiser so gun fu isn't an issue for him but things like the cop archetype uses guns so just wondered what other players were looking at and which archetypes we're off limit

I'd say nothing is off limits at this point but need to be adjusted.

Someone who wants to use Gun-Fu in the badlands will probably need to come up with steampunkish guns to use.

Mystic Archetypes are more tricky... but if necessary I can still work with those replacing say "ghost sense" with "intuition", "magic scrolls" with gadgets, "heal wounds" with medicine (some fancy potion)...

I don't recommend something like Ghost archetype, but I can work with that too (if you OK appearing only in dreams and visions, like Sunny facing his ghosts, or M.K. facing his dark self)

Given the number of times 'this is my ranged weapon' happens in the setting I think we can just ignore the whole 'gun' thing and let people pick a style of ranged attack that fits for them and just do that.

Tempting though the Sword Master is, I'm torn between the Ninja and the Sifu.

Both have aid abilities that tie them to a group nicely and the Sifu's healing abilities might be super useful. But THROWING STARS.

Yeah, OK, that tears it. Ninja.

Morgan's probably right - repeating crossbow, brace of throwing knives (STARS!), weird revolver - the mechanical effect is the same thing. Just like the Archer's "Firearms" skill.

Here's a quick text character sheet. Should format as tables and be pretty easy to use and read. You'll need to use the quote link to reveal the pipe characters because the

tags aren't acting as expected.

Hi, I just joined up. I was debating making either a young Scrappy Kid type who slowly becomes more capable or a more competent from the get-go Colt, though I'm not sure what fits best with the campaign in mind, or which archetype would accurately represent a rising Colt if I went that way.

The Scrappy Kid strikes me as a good model for a rising Colt. The Narrator might let you swap out Guns for Martial Arts and a sword.

Sounds like a good idea, but if that's the case should I find another Fu power to replace the Dart one for the Kid?

Only the Narrator knows for sure, but I'd start shopping.

Wealth is missing from the sheet - worth fixing?

Yes wealth level is worth adding and I am thinking PCs should have either poor or working stiff levels. Not that many people in the Badlands can be considered rich - barons, possibly regents and say pub owners.

In reply to Narrator (msg # 18):

There aren't too many of the Archetypes that aren't Poor or Working Stiff, are there? Maybe the cops and sorcerers?

Edit:

Wealth added to the character sheet.

I'm about done with my character sheet. Concept and Hook are going to be tied to the actual game, so when do we want to play?

I've expressed interest in either the Warring Barons period or the current season.

I don't particularly favor one period over the other but I think I prefer we all be connected to the same faction - it just seems less hassle. There is something to be said for the Byzantine game of subterfuge, diplomacy and deceit. As a Ninja I could be real into that especially if it were a risky and paranoid alliance like Quinn and Minerva's.

The other thing I was particularly interested in was an independent freehold - maybe deep in the swamp in a moldering, old plantation house not unlike The Widow's early on - where we try to gather enough power to remain independent if we're found.

Outside the Badlands? I could be sold on it, but I don't have any clear thought about what interesting things might be going on in the background to play with/against.

Independent freehold sounds awesome. If we don't do that, I'm more for doing it during the conflict of last season. Since this season's still progressing, I'm generally not as comfortable setting it during then, personally.

Also, where should we post our character sheets?

Also also, I'll be hunting for a Fu shtick to take the place of Forceful Dart, if anyone has recommendations I'll appreciate them!
