Howdy folks!

I'll be playing Elias Dorvin, who is a former Imperial Academy training instructor, who defected after becoming disillusioned with the Empire.  It's not that he's a true believer in the Rebellion, but rather that he was tired of watching his students turned into brainwashed killers and fed into the meat grinder.  Given that quitting simply wasn't an option, he defected.

I think he'll make an interesting contrast to others, as a former Imperial, he's a bit of a stickler for the rules (something of an understatement there), and has actually flown in combat, and killed Rebel pilots (he's an Ace, so we're talking multiple kills here).  That's going to be... problematic for some folks (especially since he's fairly unrepentant about it), and should make for some fun RP.

Hello. Skye is a former cop who was made a scapegoat after she refused to give in to corruption. In the Rebellion because they saved her from prison and because she hates the Empire. She's a Squadron Leader Commander.

Talmin Casani Reporting, after some delay because I'm not familiar with these forums and didn't think that the GM needed a name to add me as a player!

Another former imperial, born into a long-running military family and sent to the academy. She had a reasonably successful, if short military career fighting separatists in the Bryx Sector as a flight leader on a patrol ship.

The ship was ambushed, with its flight of TIE fighters buying enough time for the corvette to jump to hyperspace. Not willing to let the remains of her flight kill themselves just to burn off some shields on a separatist corvette, she surrendered, earning her an execution for cowardice when the Separatist base they were held on was discovered and the imperials retook it.

On the prison transport back, a rebel cell, likely the one we're working with, engineered an escape to free some of their prisoners on the shuttle, and Talmin came with them. While waiting to be assigned to a rebel unit, she ran as OPFOR in training scenarios for rebel pilots, and was reportedly quite the hot stick and not the one you wanted flying against you when you were being scored. She seems to take a far more casual approach than Elias, though she is often a bit distant.

She's scored kills against separatists who will, at some point become part of the alliance, but, given the Alliance isn't yet a thing, she's probably safe for now unless one of the other players comes from that circle.

Mechanically, Talmin is a human ACE/PILOT with Leadership and Knowledge(Warfare) as her human skills(possibly subject to change) as she was a flight Lieutenant in the imperial navy.

I'm also quite open to connecting backgrounds with other characters. Connecting to everyone is probably a bit overkill, but she's been with the rebels for a few months, so it's likely she has met several people in addition to any connections further in the past.

Introductions
At the moment, although I'm quite open to make adjustments to my character to better fit the group:

Varla lived on an Imperial held world with her family and for the most part they were happy. She helped in her dad's hangar garage fixing with stuff that came their way.  Her mother was an exotic dancer.

Every so often, her dad received odd commissions to repair and restore "historic" machines, and the money from this funded Varla's entry into the Imperial Engineering exams so she could be entered into their technical programme. It would have done, if Stormtroopers hadn't appeared at the front door before she was due to take it.

She was ordered to run to the garage, but the troopers set a fire and it collapsed.  She was rescued by an extraction team who were on route but arrived too late.

Her attitude is one of ambivalence.  She finds it hard to truly hate the Empire, for the simple reason that, for a long time, she was safe, well fed, and had access to an education.  She recognises what would have happened if the team hadn't turned up, and it is this gratitude and obligation that keeps her with the "Rebels".

Depending on the exact timing of various rescues she is probably  quite new to the rebellion, and possibly one of the youngest in the room.

Rhi'Vale

Hello everyone,

I will be playing Rhi'Vale the unit quatermistress.

Like alot of Twi'lek's out in the galaxy Rhi was abducted from her home world of Ryloth as a child. She was trained as a dancer and passed through the hands of several owners. Cunning and intelligent, she kept her mouth closed and her ears open, bidding her time and husbanding her influence. She learned alot about the seamier side of the galaxy, listening to the conversations of smugglers, gangsters and pirates all of whom viewed a slave as no threat.

As the years passed she parleyed what she heard into influence and eventually was able to make it seem like her owners were planning to steal from the infamous Black Sun syndicate. The Black Sun's vengeance was swift and brutal. Having prepared for months Rhi was able to take advantage of the chaos and slip away.

Taking passage with smugglers she tried to make her way back to Ryloth but eventually ended up with a group supplying rebel groups in the outer rim. The rebels were welcoming and shared her hatred of slavery and she eventually joined them. While not much of a combatant, her knowledge and skill are still useful for keeping the under supplied rebels fed and armed.

Hiya, I am Rip Flynn and I will be the Squadron's Quartermas.....er.. oh my, This is embarrassing.

As you can tell by my sunny disposition, exquisitely blue skin, and wild hair. I am a proud member of the galaxies favorite race.......Pantoran.

I am not sure what you heard about me but it was probably all lies. For instance I most assuredly did not sell illicit contraband for profit. Nor did I associate myself with any sort of criminal empire and I most assuredly did NOT contribute in any way to the grizzly deaths of entire teams of smash-ball players during a championship game that was broadcast to trillions of sentient beings, live across the galaxy.

er.. Well so things about me. ummm... I am super good at not being good at piloting a space ship. I am equally good at being terrible at operating any sort of weapon in combat. I excel at not knowing how to patch up someone who is hurt or fix a vehicle that has broken down.

see I am already proving to be a very valuable asset to this squadron.

well that is enough for now. Bye.

Please Sir or Madam as the case may be, do not depress that red button, no not that green one  either....because it is a detonator that is why.

I'm playing Tinker, an old clone trooper who flew Z95s in the clone wars. After the war ended and the Republic became the Empire, he went AWOl. He bummed around the galaxy for a while seeing what life is like without war, but eventually got pulled into the rebellion.

Mechanically, he's a human Ace/Rigger, so he can help LE0 with some of his duties.

Hello, Rux Viebbee here, Sullustan Ace/Hotshot.

Backstory not set in stone, but thinking about him having been a rookie racer/stunt pilot before the Empire kicked all aliens out of such positions and giving them to more humans. Was eventually recruited into the rebel alliance due to his incredible maneuvers and prowess in starfighters.

Rather brash for a Sullustan, he's decided to hone his skills further in order to take out the biggest pilots on the empire. He figures since the empire stole his shot at fame and glory in the racing circuit he'd take his shots back one Imp at a time.

While brash and outspoken, it's clear he's not overly confidant or stupid. He knows he has no actual combat training even in a fighter, and thus has many things to learn. However his confidence comes from the skills he has in doing death-defying stunts and hard-nosed races for many years.

Drelan Jeqtas reporting, Givin Explorer-Driver(?).  Still fleshing out the backstory and character design, but the core conceit is he's a bit of a recon specialist, formerly charting navigation routes in distant star systems before some suitably-tragic event pushed him into rebellion.

Lorcas Veldt

 Veteran of the Clone Wars
 Senator of the Republic

Introductions
Hello Everyone,

I'm Lorcas Veldt, a mustered out veteran of the Grand Army of the Republic and a Republic and Imperial Senator. I was part of the committee of 1000 that opposed Palpatibe's "reforms". I saw the Jedi temple burn. I served alongside of Bail Organa, Fynn Valorum and of course Sheeve Palpatine. I saw the Clone Wars rage and the Republic die.

Ensconced in comfortable retirement on Corellia, my wife was visiting relatives on Alderaan when Sheev (yes, I will call him Sheev, because the very term 'Emperor' is illegal, as is his government) blew it up.

I realized that I was as complicit in the rise of the Empire as anyway else, because I *compromised*.

Well, no more. I will bring this horrid mockery of government down with my last breath.

OOC: Pleased to be gaming with you all. I'm designing Veldt to be a primarily social character, who knows the Imperia machine inside and out and who will leverage what's left of his Senatorial privilege on behalf of the group. He's no pacifist - he has a blaster and will use it is well. He's here to remind you all that you're not barbarians or terrorists, but fighting to restore a legacy of freedom, equal rights and self determination that has endured for 25,000 years.
