Leaving the state on Friday and will be unlikely to post for a week.  I'll try to get a post in before then.

Re: [OOC Chat]

As a heads up I will be mostly unavailable 07/17 to 07/21 as I am taking an SCA Camping trip. I might be able to check in randomly during that time.

Woo, that sounds fun. Gonna get in some SCA combat while you're out, or are you just going for costuming and cameraderie?

In reply to Jon (msg # 79):

Sweet! Which weapon(s) do you use?
I've been wishing I could find a HEMA group for some saber or longsword classes in my area, but I've never had time nor luck with that...

In reply to Storyteller (msg # 80):

Mainly a sword and board type of guy. But I just made a bastard sword that I'm learning to use. And own a couple glaives and spears.

In reply to Jon (msg # 81):

Awesome! I don't know how practical glaives are in a general sense, but they look Bad. Ass! when they're wielded by somebody that knows what they're doing.

Re: [OOC Chat]

In reply to Storyteller (msg # 82):

Actually in real combat, most pole-arms and glaives would be super effective. You have a ranged attacked that those with shields have to get around. Now in SCA Combat we do have some stylized versions of combat and our shields are better made than what would have been readily available so shields can get passed pole-arms (spears, glaives or similar) and get to the person who now doesn't have much to defend themselves with.

In reply to Jon (msg # 83):

That's awesome, because although spears tend to be super boring in Western flicks, in Martial Arts movies all kinds of spears are incredible! :)

Re: [OOC Chat]

I'm about eyebrow deep in preparations for an upcoming convention this weekend, so I may not get to check this site until next week. Hope you guys are doing well.
Cheers!

Nothing to see here....

You drive back north toward Slaughter Lane unmolested. As you drive by, a group of maybe a half dozen toddlers congregated on the right side of the road around a dead cat watch you with disturbing intensity. Several of them are holding shovels or hoes, and one of them has a pair of garden shears.
Song birds sing.

Re: [OOC Chat]

In reply to Jon (msg # 89):

Leoncio is regular, but he seems to be enjoying his backstory. lol :) He's got some great character depth, I'll give him that. ;)
Jonas is still going, but between him and me, we're busy enough IRL that progress is slow.

I tried PMing Vikram, but he seems to have moved on.
I scared Rhapsody off a long time ago when I threw a psychotic demon at her. What can you do?
Julian's character is a friend of mine that I love dearly, but he has trouble sticking to most games for very long before he loses interest.

I should probably remove them from the roster, but I have trouble finding the time to do much game management these days. I'll get around to it eventually.

Cool. I just noticed there were only 2 of us with blue (links) to our names. And very little posting. Which is fine. I've been super busy myself so I no worries on my end.

In reply to Jonas (msg # 93):

Woo! Good luck with the move. I cannot stand house selling. The displacement, the uncertainty, the stupid showmanship. Yuck. I'm sure it's not as bad for some people, but it was all one big nightmare for me.
Kudos to you!

Re: [OOC Chat]

In reply to Jonas (msg # 95):

How's your realtor? A good realtor can make everything easier, but ours was kinda meh. She was friendly and enthusiastic, but she didn't do a very good job listing our house, so. You know. People would come and they'd say, "Wait. This isn't what I was expecting," and then they'd leave.
It totally sucked, but that's probably not the same for everyone. Still, selling the place you live is just a tremendous amount of work and mental pressure, and it never really relents until you either sell or just give up.
