Re: [OOC Chat]

Move into my new place next weekend.  Not sure how long it will take to get wifi up and running, but then hopefully I can go back to posting regularly.

Re: [OOC Chat]

Hey, guys!
Just a heads-up: I have a con next weekend for which I need to prepare, so I may not have time to reply this week.

Also, if you're interested in such things, I released a fantasy town in honor of Day of the Dead. You can find the link to it on a hidden page in our website here:
https://www.rpghour.com/holiday-works

again, if you're interested.

Cheers!

Leoncio:
I've been preparing for running a game today and dealing with a busy week at work, so I've been strapped for time. I'll make a post probably tomorrow or Monday. :)

My work has been crazy this month, so I haven't had a chance to catch up on posts for several days. I'll try to get to it tomorrow.

Re: [OOC Chat]

Well, that's a funny story. See, I'm in drafting so normally this time of year is pretty laid back. But this year...

Spoiler for [Cue sappy music, screen fade left]: (Highlight or hover over the text to view)

One of our most lucrative clients basically screwed us over on a huge deal, such that we had to let go a lot of people they told us to hire and shut down an entire office. So they're in our bad books just now.
But what with the money issues that brings, the CEO is on a profitability rampage and wants every department to be generating so much revenue--I mean, fair, right? But I work on the technical services side of the org chart, so I'm having to cross-train into "money-generating" projects "or else they'll have to let me go".
But no pressure! lol :)
I mean, I'm a big boy and I've been at this company for nine years, so it's not like I'm worried I can't do the work. But since it's something brand new and they have strict production numbers they want us to hit, it takes a lot of concentration and I'm constantly learning new situations and new provisions. (That's the really fun thing about drafting, savvy? On the surface it's extremely easy, but there are one billion exceptions to every rule, and getting good at drafting--or remote surveying, in this case--is learning how to spot and handle the exceptions and translate them into a consistent report.) So, in a nutshell, I come home pretty darned tired every single night.
And did I mention the initial training they gave us was 45 minutes long? Yyyyyyyeah. This endeavour did not start out rough. At. All.

All that to say, yeah. Work isn't usually this bad, this time of year. But this year, hey. Happy Christmas, amiright?

PS--JIC you didn't feel like putting up with my shit, a totally understandable sentiment I can appreciate 100%, I've included the previous whining session in spoiler text so as to spare anybody that just couldn't care less but are too polite to say so. lol ;)

Re: [OOC Chat]

Happy Christmas / Holidays, folks! Hope the season finds you and yours happy and healthy.

In honour of the holiday, you get two dots in Backgrounds from one or two of the following choices:
  • Allies
  • Contacts
  • Wonder
  • Alternately, Favor from the Merits list

You can split the points between two options or take them both in one, as you like.

Happy new year, everybody!
This week is a little rough for me, so I probably won't be able to get a post in until next week. Hope everyone's year is starting off on a good foot.

Re: [OOC Chat]

Sorry, all, I've been very busy all December. House repairs on top of all the holiday stuff, so work crews and gift buying and a new (to us) dachshund to train and... well. You get the picture.

So, Leoncio, I keep meaning to post a reply and just... failing to do so. Sorry about that! I'll try to get one up later today when I can find a few minutes to rub together. Tarot spreads are fun to do, but they take more concentration than a standard post. :)

And Jon, ... I think the main thread is a bit kaput. That story was Vikram's prologue and he doesn't seem to have logged on in going-on two years now, so other stuff probably came up for him.
As a consequence: if you like, you can keep going with your private thread, I can open a new public thread for you to get a new story going, or you can continue on in the old thread with the present story. Your choice. Before this month, I was trying to make posts here about once a week or so, so it's a slow game for sure but crawling along.
I think I've said it before, but the private prologues I did in this game was an experiment and probably a bad idea. :) Live and learn.

Re: [OOC Chat]

In reply to Storyteller (msg # 119):

Yeah I have no idea where to take what I was doing given that this wasn't within my "wheel-house" for this PC and it was supposed to be work with someone else (Vikram as you mentioned). Let me review things and see if I think I can do anything here. Otherwise I might just withdraw.
