Temple of Amaris - Zen's Garden
A large Jasmine tree fills the air with its fragrance. It is the center piece of the garden with wide, concrete benches encircling it. Stone pavers create a double spiral that spins outward from the center and terminates at two doors. One is the red door to Zen's office, and the other is a blue door to Zen's Flower room. Lining the sides of the path are blooms that create a gradient effect, as the hues travel across the spectrum. Wall fountains babble at each corner as they empty into little ponds filled with lotuses of pink and white.

He pushed Chen gently forward and pulled the gate closed. Then, he turned to her. "Sit over there under that tree. I'll get my father."

He ran towards the office and opened the door to peek inside. "Not there! Ah, Amaris take me, he must be through the blue door."

With much cursing he trudged over to the blue door set on the opposite side of the office door. With a heavy sigh he knocked. There'd be no way to hide the humiliation. The Flowers were giant gossips about things like this and the entire court would know.

"Father, come out!"

Her current state of mind, not to mention the fact of being alone, allowed her to review more closely what had gone wrong earlier. She was fairly certain Long had some kind of empathic ability given his effect on people he hadn't even been paying any attention to, and saw her own fault in having poured too much power into her Mimicry as well, which ruined the subtlety it required.

Taking another deep breath, she got in a more comfortable seated position and waited, silently hoping that this was worth the risk she was putting herself through. At least there hadn't been anything wrong with her ability itself: She would need to look into later whether it could include emotions as well though, just in case this happened again.

The door to the blue room opened and the angry face of the bishop peeked through. Long stepped back and rubbed his arm. He knew quite well why Zen was angry: For one thing, it wasn't permitted for Long to knock on the door of the Harem. The concubines within were for no one but Zen to look at without permission. Another reason Zen was so mad was that Long called the  originator a he, and father, which Zen hated with the fire of a thousand suns. It was stupid of him to slip into view that he secretly had of his parent - that Zen was his father even though technically there was a true biological father and Long had been surrogated by one of the Flowers using an egg from Zen's supposedly barren ovaries. It was a complicated thing, and Long liked simple.

Wisely, he stepped back to avoid retribution. "I mean... my dear parent, please aid me. I was changed into this by a magic user." He waved his hand up and down his body like a gameshow model. "Can you fix it?"

-From Blue Room

Zen stepped outside of the harem and flowed eir gaze over eir son's new form. E had a look of shock on eir face as e continued to stare. The shock turned into an expression of giddy elation.

"This! What is this?" e asked with a clap of eir hands.

E stepped forward and pull Long into a hug. "How?" E whispered.

At the sound of the clap, Chen turned to look in the direction of the door, seeing the embrace between Zen and Long. Wait, Long's Father is one of the Four? Seriously? It was only through biting her tongue that she managed to retain her composure, rather than follow her first reaction to vault the wall and run away. Not that she didn't believe that was a good idea, but that would take her right in the path of an angry Venatrix that was now accompanied by Magic Hounds, along with choice guards. While the current situation could be described as sitting in a pot of boiling water, the immediate alternative would be to jump out of the pot and into an open fire: If she played it cool there may still be a way to get herself extricated from this mess. Because that was the only option left to her right now.

"What do you mean, 'how', Father?" Long muttered as he pulled away from the awkward display of affection. "Of course it was magic. A magic user did this. He turned me into a girl! Can you fix it?" The slip was intentional this time, a sullen punishment to his "parent" for being so happy about his plight.

He glanced at Chen apologetically. He shouldn't have dragged her along into this.

Zen tutted at Long calling em "Father" again, but eir  usual ire was missing. E was now walking around Long with one hand over eir mouth. "Truly this must be an answer from the Nephilim. The mage must have plucked the spirit of my sister from within me and place her in you. FIX it? This miracle? Never! I must meet and bless this mage!"

When E noticed that Long was looking at the tree, E glanced over and saw the white haired beauty. "Wait, Who is this?"

E stepped towards Chen while pulling a now angry Long by the wrist. Long was trying to get the Originator to stop being crazy for once and see that this was NOT an answered prayer, thank you very much! The tirade was falling on deaf ears as now the Bishop had eir whole attention on Chen.

Behind the being, a small servant of about ten lifted the originator's hair and pulled out the bits of leaves and grass from the ends. E'd been dragging it around on the ground all this time.

At seeing the Originator approach her, Chen felt a flutter in her stomach, which she blamed on nervousness rather than an affect that emanated from Zen naturally due to the sheer gap in strength between them. It was already all she could do to keep herself from chuckling nervously without dividing her concentration even more on countering abilities that Zen may or may not be using on her, and if he was, there was very little she could do about it anyway. Instead, she opted to try and help her own spell along. She rose, and bowed in an Asian style that resembled something from Zen's past, but had been altered over the course of thousands of years. But the core of it remained Asian nonetheless.

- "No one in particular, my Lord. I ran into your... offspring? near the Temple, and she was greatly disturbed about something. Since a scuffle seemed to be breaking out in the area, she suggested meeting her father by using an entrance connecting through the Gardens, and thus we found ourselves here."

She kept her amber eyes downcast out of deference, her mind focusing wholly on keeping her Mimicry output stable, though through her peripheral vision was keeping a close eye on Zen's actions and body language as well. She had caught a glance of traits she had thus far only believed to have been in her family -- or House-family over at the farm, anyway -- and her hair was close to the same shade of white. Why this was she did not know, as normally she would assume the vampire's ancestors had made use of her former Master's offered 'services', but in the case of the Originators such did of course not apply.

Tabitha etched closer to the door, not quite in line of sight but perfectly capable of eavesdropping. Her face scrunched up into a concentrated frown, and she pushed herself closer to Zen at the mention of another magic user. It was a natural curiousity for her, unsure of how many magic users existed.

She stood beneath the doorframe now, eager to quench her thirst. Her eyes slinked over Zen's heavy arms enveloping a soft looking woman. She then shifted her attention, meeting eyes with Chen. At first, she had the instinct to bat her eyes away with disinterest, but her lack of security urged her to analyze the situation. This strange mirage of a girl; not quite beautiful but not ugly either, between neither old or young, average beige tones leaking out of her appearance. Tabitha narrowed her eyes, rubbing her forehead. Chen was distracting, somewhat.

Ignoring the tirade, eir focus entirely on Chen, a dazzling smile appeared on eir face. "Why is it so hard to see such a delightful flower? A nobody? I think not, pretty Jasmine blossom."

E was close enough to reach up and touch her face. Eir hand hovered there, long nails wiggling slightly in a small command to let em touch her. After healing Tabitha, e was feeling weary, but the news of Long's change made the bishop want to know if this girl was the one that changed em. Long was known to lie at times and eir son's thoughts were scattered everywhere with his high emotions.

Zen allowed some of eir persuasion to leak out, and while not at full power with the strain, it would be enough to decrease wariness and perhaps engender a bit of careful affection, as one would have towards a new friend.

Chen did not resist or back away from Zen touching her, knowing better than to do something that would interfere with what she believed to be the only thing keeping her relatively safe with an Originator within breathing distance of her neck. Given Long's ability, she tried to prepare herself as best she could against some form of emotion-based attack, which in her case pretty much amounted to 'keep track of any changes and hope for the best in fending them off'.

Zen would find that below the surface, Chen carried a great deal of wariness and, while she had no actual ability, magical or otherwise, to resist his powers, that she was still trying to throw up inexperienced mental blocks and defenses to fight what his affection would easily be able to slip through the cracks of. While her most inner thoughts were hidden from him, he did sense a great deal of outright mistrust aimed at vampires in general that strengthened the deeper he went in, radiating from a core that, were he not recovering, would not even be noteworthy enough for his powers to require anything resembling effort to affect. It was likely this was the cause of the vast majority of her wariness, though seemed to be part of a far more deep-rooted issue, which would likely make its removal psychologically damaging.

While some vampires preferred their slaves as mindless blood dolls, and such a sight was in fact fairly common to see among the tribute of the Blood Ball, what would happen next would be entirely up to Zen.

A smile tilted at the Originators lips as *e caressed the girls cheek. E cupped the nape of her neck and pulled her down slightly so that she was eye to eye with em. E seemed delighted, but that was the general expression e usually carried. Affection still emanated from the being, along with a gentle command to relax and trust. "Such a trembling little flower," e crooned at her.

Eir attention was torn away from the girl as the thoughts of the hound following after Killishandra came closer. With a graceful movement e pulled the girl forward and gently pushed her and Tabitha back through the blue door and into eir flower room. E shut the door and stood in the garden with eir arm around Long, waiting for Killishandra and her hound.

"Seek," Killishandra told the Hound as they walked closer to Zen. "Good day, Bishop. It would seem we have some magic users who decided to cause trouble in front of the Temple today."

She gave the woman standing next to Zen a look. She was curious but the emotion never reached her expression.

"The Hounds picked up a very large amount of magic here so we are doing our duty and due diligence in looking where the trail leads us."

The bishop looked mildly annoyed for a moment before smoothing eir features over with a smile. "All the trouble outside is Long's fault, isn't it, my darling son?" E patted the womn beside em on the cheek. "This lovely vision is Long. A magic user in town turned him into a girl which would never had happened if he'd been obedient and not left the temple." E huffed a laugh, "And while I'm not the most powerful out of the four of us, I do think any large amounts of powers would be from me, don't you think?"

E batted eir lashes at Killishandra as eir smile grew into a grin. "I'm feeling rather peeved actually. Pretty insulted, not only that you'd be investigating large amounts of power when I'm one of the four, but that you'd be coming in here to investigate at all. Maybe I should kill your best hound with a lovely mind blast or make her my slavering acolyte? She is rather pretty. Perhaps you should take her away before I get more annoyed at having been disturbed and make her a flower?

Long stepped forward with a bow toward Killishandra, "The fight outside was my fault. I was angry at being turned into a woman and it bubbled up while I was in hiding near the temple. I was so embarrassed about it all."He looked down. "Forgive me, Venatrix, and pay no attention to my fath-"

"Parent!" Zen sang out

"Err... Parent..." Long finished with a roll of his eyes.

Zen snorted, "Rudeness all around. Rudeness from even my own child. Come here pretty blueberry..." e crooned with a crook of eir finger towards the hound.

The hound stumbled next to Killishandra, the mask of apathy on her face slipping as she struggled against the call.

Killi stepped in front of her Hound and directed her own power towards breaking Zen's hold on her. "Enough. You try my patience today, Zen. I'm acting under orders of the King and the two of us have already fought once today; we shall not do so again in front of the Temple surrounded by humans."

She put her arm in front of the Hound. "Go, return to whence you came when you were summoned."

She returned her attention to Zen. "Your son's dilemma will be investigated which, as you well know is fully within my power as is coming here when the Hounds indicate something is amiss - something even beyond the power normally exhibited by one of the Four." She stepped closer to Long. "Tell me who would be foolish enough to take such an action against the child of one of the Originators."

Killishandra using her power against Zen resulted in a stream of fire being directed at em, which caused the bishop to break concentration so that e could scoop up the child behind em, push Long, and roll away before the flame could hit them all. What did get hit was the base of the jasmine tree, which caught on fire.

"My tree!" Zen cried as e tore off eir robe and ran over to the flames to smother them with the heavy fabric. The small servant brought a watering can full of water which they doused the fire with the water. After it was out, there was a scorch mark on the trunk.

E didn't hear any of her questions as e stared at the damage. "This tree is over 500 years old, you dithering arsonist!"

E turned, nearly naked save for a blue wrapping that served as underwear. Eir torso and arms were covered in art. A Chinese dragon tattoo in multicolors wrapped around em with its head draped past eir left shoulder and the tail wrapping around eir stomach from the lower right. Mandalas, symbols, blooms, and tree branches decorated the rest of eir torso. Eir chest was narrow and flat.

E walked over to Long and pushed him at Killishandra. "Take him and question him yourself, you rotten menace. I'm not speaking to you for a while!"

Long stumbled forward as he was shoved and fell to his knees in front of Killishandra's feet. He looked up then past her, seeing the King himself walking back and forth at the front of the temple. The walkway in front of the temple was partially visible from the garden gate.

Zen was still sputtering over the damaged tree behind him, and Killishandra was glaring in front of him. It looked pretty certain that his relative goose was cooked.

"It's all my fault. I'm so sorry," he groaned.

Killi looked at Long before looking back at Zen. "Dithering arsonist? I do not dither, you small-statured whiner!"

She reached down and picked up Long. "I'll try and have him...her...back before bedtime. Let's go. We have much to discuss, thee and me." She walked Long out of the garden after casting one more baleful glare towards Zen.

His Father called behind him, "Fine! And although I'm small, at least I'm not lumbering through someone else's china shop and smashing it up!" Historian winced at the growl of exasperation. That was real outrage from the usually unflappable little originator. Zen's past revenges were legendary when he wasn't annoyed. What would be the price of someone actually making the little gremlin so angry?

He put on a brave face and rose up from the ground to follow after Killishandra. He hoped they could find that magic user and make him turn Long back into a boy. Regardless of Zen's wishes, Long wanted to be free of this curse. "Yes, Venatrix." Long murmured politely.

Temple of Amaris - Zen's Garden
After the two had left the garden, a man came from Zen's office and came near to the bishop. Zen leaned in and whispered into the man's ear. He bowed and jumped over the fence at the back of the garden.

The bishop narrowed eir eyes at the gate to the front of the temple then opened the door to the flower room. "Were you frightened my lovelies?"
