Main Street Boarding house is a three story white shaker style house with wide planks of siding, neat square casement windows that open by pushing them up from the bottom and latching them, and a black slate shingle roof.

There are 12 bedrooms - 6 on the second floor and 6 on the third floor. They are not large enough for a queen bed. The largest that can fit and still have room for a dresser is a full size bed. There is a bathroom at the end of each floor which contains a tub, sink, and toilet, but no shower. The bathrooms are plain, with white facilities and walls.

Colorful rag runners cover the floor of each hallway. Circular rag rugs are in the living room and kitchen. There is only the living room and the kitchen on the first floor. The kitchen is large, with minimal decoration. A blue pitcher has a bouquet of daisies. The stove is wood burning and keeps the space warm.
