Domonia walks over and sits in the Captain's chair slouching back with her legs crossed and head tilted with her left hand placed such that her index finger rests on the side of her forehead and thumb on cheekbone while smirking playfully.

"Well, Captain, if you would so like, I would be perfectly willing to deliver your complaints directly, in writing, to the scribes of the Ordo Hereticus"

The captain grimaces and says, "I appreciate the offer, but I imagine it would do as much as protesting in person."

As Domonia teases the captain, a pair of figures enter the room. You recognize them to be Nivellius, who had experience working with the Inquisitor (as he reminds you at every opportunity) and Uroch, who in contrast to his partner has not spoken a word since you were first introduced to his massive (yet completely hidden in robes) figure.

In typical form, Nivellius wastes no time before attempting to exert control over the room. "Sadistivus! Get out of the good captain's chair, it's unbecoming of you to attempt to usurp his position!" he says, almost simultaneously glaring at Domonia and flashing a sympathetic smile at the captain. The captain, to his credit, attempts to disguise the rolling of his eyes by exhaling a particularly large cloud of smoke.

Lhari mutters something to himself and busies himself with some schematics on a data slate. A stocky man, one can only see a glimpse of his face under his red hood.

"I can understand your frustration, Captain. As the Omnissiah teaches us, Comprehension is the key to all things."

He looks up and attempts a smile at the new visitors, but it looks more like a pained grimace than a smile of friendship.

Frowning for a second but then smirking again, Domonia stretches her arms before slouching back even further into the chair. Nivellius was the type of person who Domonia liked playing with the most, men who act like they have authority just because they yell louder than everyone else or know someone important, but the moment you get them behind closed doors, they are the first to grovel beneath you.

"hmmm-hmmmmm, But Nivellius, this chair is soooooooo comfortable. Maybe if you got on your hands and knees and begged for it, I'd consider returning it."

Yes, Lhari thought to himself. People are much more complicated than machines. The rugged one didn't speak nearly as much as the female. Lhari fiddles with his schematics and pretends he can't hear what's going on.

Nivellius glares at Domonia and growls, "You DARE to speak that way to a Throne Agent-" but before he can finish, the holodisplay in the center of the room springs to life.

"ACTING Throne Agent, Nivellius, and don't make me regret it." says the hologram, which clearly belongs to Inquisitor Kvaternik. With a glance around the room, she spies the captain rubbing his temples. "Captain Jaric, thank you for your assistance so far, but it will be required for a while longer."

"The situation on Utrecht VI is a strange one, enough to warrant Inquisitorial attention, but there's not enough information coming from the planet to justify sending any more than your squad. In fact, some of you wouldn't be mobilized at all, were I given the choice, but I have confidence that you will work together to figure out what exactly is happening down there.

"Reports have come in from the planetary capital of significant groups of people renouncing the Emperor's light. Ordinarily, this would be a cut and dry case of sending in the Guard, but where this gets complicated is that the reports are conflicting. The leadership in the city has split into three factions: The Administratum types have remained in the city, claiming the local members of the Ecclesiarchy have started preaching false doctrine. They are taking refuge in a large forest near the city, and it would appear that the city's PDF garrison have joined them. The local heads of government and worker's representatives have sent messages saying both groups have gone mad, and are sheltered in the ruins of the previous capital."

The Inquisitor grimaces and continues, "I would love nothing better than to oversee your investigation personally, but certain matters are more pressing than others. Are there any questions about your orders?"

Lhari looks at his data slate thoughtfully. "Intellect is the understanding of knowledge, as the Omnissiah has taught us. We must understand these factions before we descend on the planet. Inquisitor what can you tell us of these ruins? Also I assume we will be given documents proving us as on a mission with your seal of blessing as well as access to the armory?"

Lhari glances at the Sororitas and the Astropath. "My talents do not lie within the Holy mysteries of the Ecchlaisiarcy, nor in dealings with government or military officials. I will defer to my companions on how to proceed with this investigation."

"I do not know much about the current state, but the archives reported that the ruins were from the original capital of the planet, laid to waste by Imperial forces during the great crusade. A local historian or planet-side archives may provide you with more information."

"Nivellius should have a physical seal for your squad, and I shall forward a digital script of purpose to your dataslate. Captain Jaric has been instructed to provide you with any equipment or weapons from the ship that he can, but anything more than simple arms or tools may prove difficult to find."

Lhari scowls looking up from his dataslate. "Then Utrecht VI was not brought to compliance willingly? This worries me that the source of this rebellion may be found in the ruins of this civilization. I would propose that our investigation begin there and if we are fortunate then the Omnissiah will bless us with the wisdom to bring this planet back in the protecting arms of his most blessed Messiah, the Emperor. I would like to hear the others thoughts as well."

See the note in OOC chat, you don't know anything about that Lord Inquisitor

"This mission comes from me. I would take care calling any mission pedestrian, especially one with as many unknowns as this. Take note, especially those of ambition..." The Inquisitor's gaze lingers upon Domonia and Nivellius. "This is a test to see if you are fit for field work without seasoned veterans holding your hand. If you are lucky, you can report back to me that it was petty politics, which you straightened out."

"I am giving you the freedom to approach the matter however you see fit. I will expect periodic reports, but since I am in the field myself, they can wait until you have something of note to discuss. The Captain has agreed to provide you with an Arvus Lighter and pilot for transportation and lodging purposes. If you require less obvious means of transport, you will have to make do with what you can find locally."

Sighs and then stands up from the Captain's seat "Well ok then, I suggest that we, and by we I mean I, first interview the leaders of the three factions before making any major decisions . Madame inquisitor, I'm sure you've read my file from telepathica and understand why I should be the one to conduct these interviews otherwise I doubt I wouldve been selected for this mission. Though I would like some security when I go.

Looking at Cromwell and Alyss, "I think the mercenary and soriartus should do."

Nivellius readies to protest when the Inquisitor sighs and says "If I thought that this matter would be resolved by just three of you, I would have allocated my resources elsewhere. If you are incapable of establishing order among yourselves, I shall find a team that can."

"Worry not Madam Inquisitor, I'm sure we'll be able to put our orders above any differences we may have. Have faith that whatever we find down there, know that we'll shed the Emperor's light upon it. If we discover it is more than just petty politics and there is evidence of taint, how shall you like us to proceed?"

Rolls eyes "Either way, our first priority should be interrogating the leaders of the resident factions and frankly when it comes to extracting information out of men, willingly or unwillingly, there is no one here better than I as is written in my file from Telepathica. This is the obvious and simple part of the mission which I really only need a bodyguard or too for backup. The difficult part is deciding the order in which and how we engage each faction so that we don't incite hostilities from that particular faction or the other two as well as reaching them. For this, a full band such as the group here is likely necessary. "

Looking around the room at the party "I've come to notice that I don't know the skill sets of most of the people here. I can guess that most know how to use a gun, but what other unique skills does everyone have? I'll start with myself. I'm a Psyker with skill in telepathy. I can read minds and control those of the weak willed."

"If there is taint, determine the source and extent of it. Keep me appraised of the situation, if I determine it is within your capabilities to handle the problem, you will destroy it. Should it be too much for you, I will find an alternative solution."

"I've dallied long enough. Gorgo has the information to contact me, remember to keep a low profile and try to avoid killing each other."

With that, the Inquisitor's hologram distorts and blinks off.

Nivellius attempts to hide his ire at Domonia's deft seizure of momentum, and puffs up his chest. "My skills lie with my experience in dealing with the administrative and aristocratic elite, as well as training from the Inquisitor herself on rooting out the enemies of the Emperor."

You recall being told when you were shipping out for this mission that Inquisitor Kvaternik prefers to be present for first missions, the messenger mentioned something about "improved turnover rates".

Nivellius gestures at Uroch. "I have only seen the brute in action once, but I believe he has been sent with us in lieu of some sort of construction machinery," he says with a chuckle. Uroch doesn't seem to be phased by anything that has happened since he entered the room.

In fact this is the longest I haven't had to shoot a lasgun or tear some foul xenos open with a chainsword. Does that answer your question, love?."
