Chapter Three : Greyhawk City

"Now if i'm reading this tingling sensation right, then this cloak should make someone harder to hit during battle! Does anyone think they could use this cloak more efficiently than I? I'm up to discuss who this goes to."

Chapter Three : Greyhawk City

"Up until now I've only really done ranged combat, but with this dagger I'm more inclined for close combat." Myra put her hand over the dagger as she spoke. "Either way, however I already have one magic item being said dagger, so I'd vote if we have another close combat combatant in our group or if not then to our handy healer." She gestured to Bhelmyr. "Spread the wealth as it were. Speaking of spreading the wealth, who's up for splitting the gold we looted from the enemy? I got 80 gold from the big oaf back there."

Chapter Three : Greyhawk City

Raieylan handed over the dagger with a smike and nod. In truth he would have used the dagger as a back up weapon. He looked at the cloak and smiled. It too would be useful to him, but in the hand of a warrior it could be used more.

"Keep the cloak friend...you could use it better than I. But if you would Myra, I will take the bottle. Not much of use, but maybe next we get to town, may fetch some coin."

Now with his gear, he had a whip and normal dagger, his scimitar now nowhere to be seen.

"So...what have I stumbled into here?

"I'll keep it if Bhelmyr refuses it. Ill ask him once he is in a better mood though.

You, friend, have stumbled into an adventuring party, keen on protecting the everlasting life of two elven lovers.

Well, thats the current job anyway.
"

Matrim grins at Elora and begins to thumb his pipe full of tobacco.

"But what about you? Running in from the sides out of the smoke like a madman? With a flashy sword that is now nowhere."

Chapter Three : Greyhawk City

The half elf smiled as he took the bottle, putting it back in his pack. He smiled at the dwarf. "The running was as much from the zombies as much towards you. I was tied up and guarded. luckily for my more unusual skills I was able to slip away, and the sword, let's say, has a handy hiding spot "

He held his arm out as water seemed to come from nowhere, and in a moment, was in the shape of his sword. Giving it a swing, he held ut up, where it again turned into water and disappeared.

"Handy trick." he muttered with a smile.

The Goliath leaned back onto the rock he chose as a back rest.

"Handy trick indeed..." he muttered around his pipe. "But how were you caught in the first place? Was it by our hogtied friend here?" Matrim indicates Nija with his head.

The half elf looked over to the armored beast they fought. "I was camping one night on the road, just after dinner with a pair of humans. this guy came in with zombies all around us. The two humans died, but i fought as best I could. in the end 4 zombies piled on me as he knocked me out."

He again looked at him and sneered. "Glad you took him out."

Chapter Three : Greyhawk City

As the adventurers discusses the loot (and other things), Elora performs a cleansing ritual.
She walks slowly around the top of the hill, praying, sprinkling holy water, sometimes dancing.
It looks a bit strange to those unused to the ways of elven clerics.

When she is finished, she approaches the adventurers, saying,
"I think our time here is finished. Due to my ... circumstances, I don't feel safe venturing back to Greyhawk City right now,
and so may travel south to Hardby to visit some old friends.
There's still the question of what to do with her."
Elora gestures towards Nija.

She continues, "Oh! Before I forget ... here's the one-hundred gold pieces I owe you for your services."
Elora hands Bhelmyr a pouch containing 10 platinum pieces.

It is early morning.

Chapter Three : Greyhawk City

"I will defer to the rest of you on what to do about her. I have no personal stake in this so I will abstain."

As for Gold, we got a total of:

10 pp
210 gp (130 from Nija, 80 from Gorbundus)

Divided by us present (Myself, Bhelmyr, Kvan, Myra, and Raieylan for helping us) it comes to:

2 pp each
42 gp each

"There is also the 10 gold that Bandish had, though I would suggest using that for rooms or boat storage or even a round of drinks and food. If you all have different ideas, or dispute my maths, please speak up.

Elora, if you ever need help and see this crest (Matrim holds his crested pipe so she can study it) tell them you are a friend of the Bear-Breaker and they will help. I do not wish to see you work with the types you were with before.
"

Matrim flashes a small grin of anticipation, possibly for a good old fashioned beat-down?

Myra accepted her share and put it in her pouch. Then her focus turned to Nija, "I have no interest in the witch. I say we turn her into the authorities and just let them handle her."

Raieylan was not expecting the share of the gold, but nodded and placed it in a pouch. "As long as you'll have me, i'll tag along with you."

He looked at Nija. "There's a couple of hungry zombies around....tie her, gag her and let them have a feast, but first remove all her gear and clothes.....can't make it too easy on her."

He looked at Myra. "I think the authorities may not be a good idea though....her powers she would be free and causing havoc within a day, and i don't want innocent blood on my hands caused by her.......leave her to rot, or kill her."

Chapter Three : Greyhawk City

"I'm not usually one for murder, but if it's to save the greater good then I suppose we must off her. She already took one of our own. How many more will die if she doesn't? I say we kill her and bury her with her zombies, tied up of course." Myra didn't like the idea, but she was angry that one of their own had fallen at the hands of this witch.

Chapter Three : Greyhawk City

Before Myra had even finished her second sentence, Bhelmyr cast Sacred Flame on Nija from where he stood, next to Bandish's final resting place.

Nija's hands and feet are bound, so if she can make a reflex save at all, it would be with disadvantage. DC 14 if you need it.

23:40, Today: Bhelmyr Godstouched rolled 14 using 2d8.  Sacred Flame Damage.

She falls unconscious, again.

"Couldn't let her take an opportunity to recover and escape while we were deciding what to do. She clearly had nothing to say to us. Sparing her was a mistake." Bhelmyr explains.  "Now that she's unconsious, her death shall be merciful, unlike Bandish's. "May this light purify your soul!" He cast the spell again, to ensure she rose no more.

Raieylan looked on, not knowing the full story of the woman, but knowing the danger of necromantic arts. Though he had no reason to believe this group over her, the fact that several zombies attacked him lent towards the woman being evil.

He looked on expressionless.

"Tactically it was wise. I usually don't go for killing unarmed people, women at that, but if she was the one who made this undead army, then better we do it now....not only save others lives, but our own."

He looked at the sorcerer and nodded his support for the decision.

Bhelmyr had a pained look on his face. Despite the swiftness with which he performed Nija's execution, it clearly hadn't been easy on him. "I don't normally kill unarmed people, either, but it had to be done. Her actions threatened the whole region, if not the world. Besides, Raieylan, you should know better than most: a spellcaster is never unarmed. I took a huge risk leaving her ungagged, in the hopes she could tell us if she was working with anyone else. That's the main reason I kept her from dying in the first place. Her silence proved she had no intention of turning over a new leaf."

Raieylan looked at the body of the woman and only nodded. "I am not a normal spellcaster, per say. My gifts are as a result of an external source....an agreement if you will. But i know all too well that magic can be devastating, and even someone who looks unarmed, is very dangerous."

He shook his head and looked at the others. "Let us not dwell on this.....and let us leave this place. Find a more advantageous camp so i can learn of my new friends and what lies ahead."
