Re: OOC chat
Just to reiterate: Mathilde has her hair cut short and is dressed as a man. She's no master of disguise (yet?), but she is definitely working as hard as she can at passing as male.

Apologies! And on that perception check Gio is clueless!

Re: OOC chat
No sweat. It's a hard thing to represent in RPOL's presentation, anyway. :)

GM, Jurgen's body is shrouded right now, yes?

In reply to Mathilde (msg # 28):

This is when we reveal Jurgen has a bolt through his head, and Gio is all “how did he die?!”

And someone carved "It was me, Chaos Cultist Karl" into his chest.  Whatever that means.

Re: OOC chat
I feel like the slowdown here was more quick and drastic than I usually encounter.  How can we fix this?  If you guys just need some more concrete ideas about where to go next I can provide that, or if it's something else let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Sorry I kinda held off, waiting for others to post. I don’t need any directional help, just avoiding racing off all the time ;)

Re: OOC chat
Investigation-based games on RPOL are hard. Nearly every one I've been involved in has died, including ones that I've tried to run despite knowing the hazards. There are a lot of thinking moments/awkward pauses in a tabletop investigative game (or Shadowrun) that somebody eventually fills because the alternative is continuing to stare at each other. Online, especially on a forum-based game, there's no such pressure.

Mathi is...not great at this investigation thing. I have to continuously remind myself that all starting WFRP characters are bad at pretty much everything (Trained in a skill? Great. You'll succeed a third of the time unless it's really easy). I'll try to push harder.

(This week and last have been crunchy for me time-wise because of the start of school.)

Re: OOC chat
Fair point - I've never thought too much about comparing the attrition rates for different kinds of games.  Would it help if I was more blatant about potential clues?  On one hand it might help curtail the virtual blank stares, on the other I worry it might feel railroady, or at least just unbearably cheesy.  What would work for you folks?

Re: OOC chat
I've found a little railroading in the opening stages can help. Once we've got some momentum, we'll probably happily derail both ourselves and your carefully laid plans.

Right, glowing green clues it is.  Hopefully today's IC post works well for that.

Sorry for the delay, want to make sure I'm clear before I push you forward in the wrong direction - are you heading to the warehouse right now or waiting for later?

Who's actually still here?

Mathi's up for heading to the warehouse more or less immediately.

Re: OOC chat
Sorry for lack of answer, I have been busy. I had to skip school some days during the last two weeks just to get the work I had to do done on time for my deadlines. But yeah, let's go.

Happy Thanksgiving to the Americans in the crowd (and the rest of you can get yourselves something nice as well ;)!

Besides that, how are things looking game-wise?

Well, it was a nice try but I think it's time to bury this one.  Thanks for giving it a shot everyone.  I'll leave this open for a few more days if you want to save anything or ask me questions about the game.

Re: OOC chat
Sorry for being so slow for certain spells. Thanks for having me!

I did just pick up the 4th edition WFRP rules, and they look pretty swell. Not exactly 2e compatible, but I expect I'll still be able to pull a lot from my old sourcebooks.

Best of luck to all and sundry!
