"Well it looks like we have one more room. And then we're out of here." Kamea lead the way to the last room.

She nodded. "Let's see what's there."

Vahan went ahead and lead the way into the last room, shield up and hammer ready.

Watching behind and the group, Tanu says, "I need to rest when we can.  I feel heavy."

The group enters what appears to have once been a family room. A moldering sofa sits along the south wall of this room, and once-comfortable chairs sit in front of mold-covered windows.

As the party enters the room they hear the faint sound of children laughing and giggling at the edge of their hearing, seemingly coming from everywhere and nowhere at the same time.

"While disconcerting, that is a better thing to deal with and hear then some of the other stuff we've heard." She said with a small sigh, then she decides to cast detect magic, again.

[OOC: Detect Magic to see what she can sense.]

"More ghosts?" Kamea stated the obvious question. She looked around the room. "I think we're done here. Shall we leave?"

Tapping the floor boards with his club as he goes, Tanu checks the room out.  Move a chair...tap the wall....  Kid's toys??

The light from outside dims as if a thick cloud passed in front of the sun casting the whole room into shadows. When the cloud passes the party sees people sitting in on the moldy ruined couches. A family is there enjoying themselves in stark contrast to the decrepit surroundings. Roderic, looking alive and healthy for once, sits with a young boy on his knee while two girls sit on the floor listening to Roderic read to them. Roderic's wife sits next to him in a chair working on needlepoint.

The family seems oblivious to the party staring at them from the entryway.

"Not sure if we should burn it down or not. Humans and refusing to pass on.... I don't get it."

Amara gave a little shrug and seemed content to leave, not even wanting to disturb the spirits time together.

Tanu pays attention to what they are reading.

Anything to hear?

"I sense magic in here." She said way to happily as she went into the room!

"The spirits must still be attached to this realm. Perhaps solving Roderic's issue will allow them to move on." Kamea said hopefully.

Tanu listens intently and while he can make out voices as soon as he focuses on it the words become unintelligible. They sound like they should mean something and yet nobody is able to understand them.

Is anyone entering the room or is everyone just at the threshold watching?

[OOC: In my action I had Phelar go into the room. So unless someone stops her, she's in the room.]

As the group enters the room something changes in the air. The scene looks the same but there is a decidedly sinister tone to it. Simultaneously the entire family turns to look at the intruders. As they do their skin begins to decay, sloughing off to reveal muscle and bone underneath it.

Roderic looks in horrific anger at the group.

"GET! OUT!"

His mouth opens, or perhaps enough flesh has rotted away that it falls open on its own and a horrific scream comes out piercing everyone's ears temporarily deafening them. The intensity continues to rise and everyone winces in pain, trying in vain to cover their ears but the sound continues to penetrate, as if the voice was screaming directly in their heads.

Then all of a sudden it stops. Without warning the noise ends although the echo and linger for quite some time but the room has returned to its normal decayed but empty condition.

"Ahhh...I hate ghosts."  Tanu will take a look around the room, tapping the floor as he goes.

Amara rubbed absently at her ears but had stayed back not wanting to intrude on this scene, so likely didn't suffer quite so much despite her elven ears.

She cringed and rubbed her ears, but when the screaming finally stopped. "We're not leaving if you want our help."

Then she looked towards Tanu. "Ghost's are awesome, because they lead you to places, and places give you treasure and knowledge!" Phelar said with a smile and a nod. Looking around the room wondering if she could see anything that might potentially be magical.

[OOC: I assume she still senses the magic with Detect Magic?]

"I think we're done here. We need to go to the woods and find that house." Kamea looked around the empty room. "There is no point disturbing spirits and wandering around here."

As far as the group can tell there is nothing else interesting in the room. Phelar's magical detection shows the magic is fading along with the ghostly spirits.

She nods in agreeance. "Yes, since the magic is fading in here."

[OOC: There was no basement in the house right?]

Tanu just shakes his head; relaxing some.

Amara seems very eager to get away from this place and stay away from it again in the future, cause this is such a creepy and disgusting place.
