Careful to move at what would be a normal speed for others, Lynx raised a hand, waved it roughly in the man's direction, and lowered it back down to her side.

"My name is Lynx, Professor."

"You can call me Goodwill."

Cosmic Girl, being the image of a pretty blonde girl in a costume, reasoned that she might seem a little less intimidating. She stepped forwards and bobbed a polite curtsey. "It is an honour to meet you, Professor. We will lend you any assistance we can. You can be assured, you are perfectly safe with us."

Perhaps she lacked a little conviction. It was hard to be this nice to someone who had tried to kill her, several times. But she did try!

"Um. So... do they know the plan, Usagi? No?"

"They do not. There has been no time until now. Would you like to explain, or shall I?"

"...You try, please."

"All right, professor." She turns to the rest of you. "As you doubtless already understand, those who stand out as heroes in our world are villains here, and vice-versa.

New York City is ruled over by the Mayoral Council: Crimson Comet, the Green Dragon, and the Black Mummy. Their powers are-- in that order-- lightning speed, fire-breathing, and invulnerability and prehensile black bandages.

All of them are versions of people that I met during my short career as a powered hero in our world of origin-- again, respectively, Silver Streak, Scorch Scale, and Pint-Sized Powerhouse."

She looks uncomfortable. "I... thought that that's who would appear where you four appeared. Have Silver Streak, Scorch Scale, and Pint-Sized Powerhouse quit, or retired? I... hope that they weren't killed in the line of duty? Do you know?"

Lynx frowned in thought. "I can't say I've heard much about Scale or Powerhouse lately, but we know that Silver Streak has been... gone for a while. As another speedster, I had to impersonate the man during an incident some time ago where a villain had demanded to see him." No matter how many times she thought on it, Ch'rava would always find it oddly amusing that her first big outing after starting to impersonate White Lynx had her pretending to be an entirely different person.

"I am sorry to hear it. I hope that they are all right, wherever they are. In any event, the Mayors use their powers to keep any who oppose them locked up in their special jail. Only I, with my powers, could break in, when I felt the dimensional instability I share with the woman named Echo growing. But I do not think we will be successful in attacking the prison again. Instead, Professor Norwood has studied each Mayor, and has invented means of disrupting their powers. With your help, I hope to overthrow them, and then we can let the heroes of this world out of the prison... One of their prisoners is a woman called The Magus... a powerful magic-user, apparently. It is my hope that she may be able to send you home, and to allow myself and Echo to trade places."

Lynx nodded. That all sounded reasonable enough, assuming it was all true. "Going home certainly sounds nice," Well, her home universe, at least. "And I don't believe we'll have any problems with assisting you in this. What has the good doctor prepared for these Mayors?"

Goodwill just nodded. So far, it sounded like a decent enough plan. Now he just wanted to hear the details, starting with what the Lynx had just asked.

Cosmic Girl scratched he chin thoughtfully No her strong suit, planning. She had always been able to rely on the insight of others, whether they were her handlers, or other more experienced heroes. "If there is a way I can help, then I am happy to do so. My talents lean more towards the combustible end of the spectrum, though. If you need something blown up, or carried off at personal risk through a bunch of guards, though, that is within my limits."

Twist gave a thumb-up despite feeling inadequate to the task. "Did I mention I can do rubber-bandy shit? You need a well-timed 'boing' or 'twang', I got it."

The plan is revealed, and discussed:

--the Crimson Comet: Usagi was expecting to get Silver Streak, but having White Lynx will work just as well. Someone else should serve as a distraction, and then White Lynx can run up and hit the Crimson Comet with a ray gun (it's got a short range, less than 10 feet). It should neutralize his powers for at least 24 hours. Usagi suggests that Twist might be good for the distraction.

--Green Dragon: This is magical stuff, so that's hard. The plan here is to use a special flashlight. Flash it right in his eyes, and it should put the dragon spirit inside in control. That'll be more dangerous power-wise, but the dragon's not as smart/clever as the villainous young man who's normally in control. The dragon spirit is easier to trick... Norwood has invented an Ice Gun that might be able to freeze Green Dragon once the dragon spirit is in control. The plan that gets worked out is for Goodwill (since Usagi's teammates Pint-Size Powerhouse and Scorch Scale aren't available) to try to flashlight the dragon, and for Usagi herself to have the freeze-gun ready.

--the Black Mummy: the idea is for Cosmic Girl to pour a jar of special liquid on the Black Mummy that should cause her to lose control of her bandages, leading to just a ball of black yarn that can be rolled into a special metal holding box to imprison her. In case there's any trouble, Agent Devil will be standing by to try to help (and to help roll the black ball and slam the lid on the box, if the plan is successful).

Twist nodded her assent. "Distraction I do well. And even if someone hits me, I bounce right back. That's a joke, see? Rubber bounces. Thank you! I'll be here all week!"

"Flashlight versus dragon," Goodwill said, smiling at the absurdity of the idea. But if it was a special flashlight, then why not give it a try, right? It wasn't as though he had any better ideas, other than the usual fists. "Got it."

Cosmic Girl nodded decisively. "Zoom about acrobatically, drop the gunge on the target, stuff them in a box. I think that is well within my capacity. If there is one thing I can do, it is duck and weave."

Lynx narrowed her eyes behind the domino mask. "That's a solid plan, though I have a query. This ray gun. Will it only work on the Crimson Comet? Or on all speedsters?" Or perhaps even other abilities, but at this point, knowing whether she should avoid getting hit by this gun as well was likely important to figure out.

"It's specially-calibrated to work on the Crimson Comet's physiology," says Norwood. "It might or might not work on another speedster. How did you get your powers?"

Lynx's eyes locked onto the doctor. "They were passed on to me from another super. Not Silver Streak." Technically true in that she did indeed obtain them from another super powered individual, alongside her appearance and name. She wasn't entirely sure how the real White Lynx had gotten hers, but it wasn't as though most heroes would be particularly forthcoming about their abilities' origins, so she should be able to get away with a lot in that regard.

Although... given that her universe's Dr. Norwood had that trident in one of his lab areas, there was a chance he knew some of the mechanics around the power transfer. If this Norwood had worked in similar areas...

No. Too risky. Ch'rava allowed her eyes to drift away from the man as she dismissed the idea. Usagi and Twist would both be coming back to their universe and neither of them knew the truth yet. If either of them were going to have a problem with an alien scout replacing one of their many heroes, her cover could very well be blown.

"But... was there a chemical catalyst, or was radioactivity..." He shrinks back from the intensity of White Lynx's gaze. "Well... from what you say... it certainly shouldn't shut off your powers as it should for the Crimson Comet. But without more information, I can't guarantee what would happen. So... Try not to get hit with it. Um, if it helps, I'd be fine with you breaking it as soon as you use it successfully on Crimson Comet. Or better yet, let Miss Twist do it for you. Just to be safe." He turns to Twist. "Smashing it on concrete should do it. Maybe stomping on it if need be."

Twist bobbed her head in response. "Smashing. Stomping. Got it, Doc." She stretch-flitted around the room a few times. "When do we get started? Let's do this."

Lynx nodded at the man but did not meet his eyes. "I'll try not to get hit. Thank you. And apologies in advance for the destruction of your technology." Twisting her head over to her fellow hero, she offered a "And thank you for going along with the breaking plan, Twist. I really appreciate it."

Returning to a neutral standby position, Lynx spoke to the room. "No further questions from me. I'm ready to go as well."

"Mm. Do any of you need rest? If so, we can start at dawn-- or tomorrow night? My skill set does a bit better in darkness..." says Ultima-Usagi.

"Aren't any of you hungry? I just realized, I'm pretty hungry," mutters Norwood. "Sometimes I work for hours and hours without realizing how much time has passed..."

"...That gives me an idea... I think it might be good to send out certain warnings... just to make sure that the people we want to show up show up when and where we want them to..." smiles Ultima-Usagi... She turns to the newly-arrived heroes from her home dimension. "Do you think you can wait until tomorrow night? Or do you think it would be better to start the plan immediately...? I'm having trouble deciding..."

"Tomorrow evening works for me, baby," Twist nonchalantly replied. "I can annoy the bad guys whatever the hour." She grinned at her teammates. "Even gots me a pouch of steel ball bearings for any bitches reluctant to engage. I'm my own personal Wrist Rocket."

"Golly," says Norwood.

Lynx gave a half-hearted shrug. "Personally, I'm a fan of 'the sooner, the better' as an idea, but if a night and day of rest won't hurt us, I've no issue with taking them. I should be about as effective during the night as during the day."

Turning her gaze to the muttering Norwood, she added, "Food sounds like a good plan if we're going to wait for a while. What would you recommend?"
