[Chapter 1.03] The Citadel Below

With Helba's help the group finds a secret door built into a small alcove in the hillside. It leads into a dark straight hallway before reaching another stone wall. The release mechanism is clearly visible and the wall swings open revealing the main vault below the citadel.

This wide, empty stone hallway is oppressive and dark. To the east, the hall ends at three separate open doorways, while six additional corridors branch off to the north and south. A mass of rubble spills out of a clogged archway in the northeastern portion of the room.

OOC: Visible doors are as follows, going in clockwise fashion.

North 1 (N1)
North 2 (N2)
North 3 (N3)
East 1 (E1)
East 2 (E2)
East 3 (E3)
South 2 (S2)
South 1 (S1)

[Chapter 1.03] The Citadel Below

Nezaglomie whispers, "We should start in the north.  Whatever the 'dead things' are, the gobbo implied that they stayed where they were if they weren't bothered.  What we don't want is to start one fight and then have different enemies come up behind us."

Yala nodded. "Lets do it. We can handle the dead things last. Let's do this north passage first, be be careful about the bare they said is up that way." She whispered in reply.

Sularius nods, "I agree with the plan. I can scout ahead of the group first to see if there are any threats and check for traps along the way."

[OOC: Just a reminder if you didn't see it in the other thread Sul, Yala gave you and Yarr the same potion as last time so you both will have a +1 PER, and a +2 on spotting traps and secret doors.]

[Chapter 1.03] The Citadel Below

Nezaglomie bounces on her toes a bit, agitated at the indecision.  She had always been the leader of the popular crowd in school, so she decides to take charge here, as well.  "OK, let's get going," she whispers.  "Sularius, there's enough light reflected into the hallway that you should be able to see at least to the bend without a light source, maybe all the way to the door.  So you and Yarr head up this first path north, listen at the door, which you can do even if you can't see, and Yarr can open the door quietly and look to see what's beyond it.  Then come back and ... let us know what's there."  She manages to stop herself from ordering them to 'come back and report.'

Once the pair heads out, the gnome peers into the weak light, looking for anything unexpected to the east, and then she takes a few steps to look down the first hall to the south.  (Moving to -- hmm no labels -- where Sularius is now.)

Sularius nods and quietly sneaks down the first hallway to their left, and once he gets to the door, listens intently for any noises on the other side. If he hears nothing, he quietly opens the door.

[Chapter 1.03] The Citadel Below

Sularius sneaks up to the first door and hears croaking from behind it. It is too muffled and  difficult to tell how many "frogs" might be croaking. It could be one, it could be several.

Sularius quietly returns to the group, "I hear croaking of some sort from the other side of the door. Frogs or something...maybe giant frogs?"
