Mortis

In the weeks following the Taskforce 'orientation', Lois threw herself into training like someone offered a second chance at life.  Sure, it wasn't like Lois was escaping poverty, drugs, or other dire straits.  But the chance to be something other than a reluctance assassin was a very good motivator.  Her father didn't exactly approve, but he wasn't willing to risk his empire going against a SHIELD subgroup.  Each day, he became a little less cold towards Lois... hinting at forgiveness in the future (not that Lois had anything to be forgiven for).

Lois showed only basic aptitude with firearms, but was steadily improving in other areas... self defense, Hand to Hand combat, and even the 'secondary' use of her power.  She'd disintegrated various substances (all kinds of metals and construction materials) and Jocasta had provided valuable training in getting the most 'bang for her buck'... one didn't need to destroy an object completely to break or collapse it.  Other time was spent paging through training manuals to do with Intelligence matters... how SHIELD worked, reacting to dangerous situations, evacuation and first aid, etc.  Lois didn't know how much practicality all her theory homework would result in, but she found that being somewhat prepared for those eventualities... helped her confidence.

Most nights, Lois returned home... to then come in on the following morning.  Only once or twice did she stay overnight at the Base.  However it didn't stop her from decorating her quarters and setting it up with a few belongings.  Lois also spent time with her other teammates and made herself available for other people too.  She and Darwin had a good friendship and Lois wanted to keep nurturing it.  If that meant helping out her shapeshifting friend, than that's what she tried to do.
