1 From: Received from the notice board of The Green Pipe Inn. It looks like it has been there for some time. Small and easy to miss.

2 Who: Xenophobic Genius ( a magic user). The note is signed by Ciliren. That sounds like an elf name.

3 What: A Fortunately Good Item has been lost and needs to be recovered. A Magical Scroll.

4 Why: It is important in creating something by the MU. The MU needs it in research.

5 Where: Ruins of a mage's tower. It's close, a day's travel time.

GREEN PIPE INN. LATE EVENING.

Air is thick of smoke. The inn is nearly full tonight. Discussion and laughter create a constant background noise in the Inn. Joan approached the table the other patron had gestured to her when she asked about Ciliren, the magic user.

Contrary to her prejudge, the magic-user is not an elf. Joan approaches the man's table and draws a chair for herself.

"You're in need of help? I noticed your poster on the board. What's the deal?"

Smiling, gives a small nod. "Please sit down. Yes, I'm Ciliren, the one who left the note. What's your name, lady?"

"I'm Joan of Afford." Gives small bow. Nothing too theatrical. "The note says you're requesting adventurers. May I inquire what's the job and what is your payment of it, please?"

CILIREN signals the waitress.

"Drink for my associate here, please. What would you like to drink, Joan of Afford?"

"An ale would be fine. Thank you."

"There is an old tower, or ruins of a tower rather, on a hill north of this hamlet. Do you know the place?"

"Yes, I know the hill and have heard about the ruins. I haven't seen it with my own eyes yet."

"A tower, a magician's tower used to stand on the hill. It's nothing but a pile of rubble now, but there are dungeons below, still intact. Somewhere in those subterranean chambers lies the magicians stuff still. Ready to be found and taken, for those who dare explore the place. Do you think you dare venture there, Joan?"

"I dare, if the payment is good."

"Ah, the payment. I can see you are a lady of faith. Would you prefer hard coin, or services of arcane nature? If you prefer money, I can pay you 500 gold pieces for each magical scroll you bring back to me from the ruins. For other magical items - we can negotiate case by case. But my rewards are good, ask anybody here, and they'll confirm this."

"What are these services of arcane nature? Do you trade potions?"

"Instead of money I promised, I can prepare a magical scroll for you, or potions. A scroll for you for each scroll you deliver, or 4 potions. I should remind you, that scrolls and potions I give are one use items."

"Potion of healing - can you provide them? And if yes, is it possible to take part of the reward in advance?"

"Yes, I can pay in healing potions. However, I'll pay after you've delivered a scroll or more. It isn't guaranteed you can find, or survive in bringing them back to me."
