People have been petrified!

Humans, elves, dwarves, halflings-- and also goblinkin, lizardmen, ogres, trolls-- all of them are now just stone statues! (Although they don't break when you knock them over, either, so clearly something very magical is at work.)

Gnomes and pixies are still all right. Kobolds, too. And animals.

YOU were spared... because you count as an animal!



--Rhyming: singing, telling stories
--Riddling: using logic, solving puzzles, outwitting someone
--Fighting: up-close combat, wrestling, feats of strength
--Foraging: surviving (in the wild), herbalism, tracking, guiding, scouting
--Sneaking: dodging, escaping, hiding, concealing something, moving quietly
--Carousing: cooking & eating, charming, haggling
--Magic: spellcasting, changing your form, healing with magic, etc. (You may create new magical skills with the GM.)


Choose your character type:

--Magical familiar: you are an animal who can cast cantrips and low-level spells. You get two Magic abilities for free.
--Mighty Steed: you're good at fighting! You get two MAGIC abilities for free.
--Faithful pet: (Often dogs.) very familiar with the ways of humans (or elves or halflings or whatever). You get two Riddling skills for free.
--Druid who was an animal at the time of the petrification-- you are fine, and you can turn into other animals, but you can't change into your original non-animal form anymore. Also, the bigger the animal, the harder it is for you to hold that shape for long. You get two Magic abilities for free (one is Change Your Form).
--Were-animal: You can be an animal, and you can turn into a half-animal form, but you can no longer become fully human (or whatever you were when you weren't an animal). You get one Magic ability for free (Change Your Form) and one other of your choice.
