[Act V Scene III] Going Up to Go Down

How magnificent these marble steps must have been! How humble must they have seemed in the shadow of the colossus that it was attached to! Slow and secure footing is sufficient for even the clumsiest adventurer to scale it. Finally you reach an archway, fashioned as a huge buckle. How ingenious.

We step foot into the sandal. Now, that we have a foothold, let us step forward.

[Act V Scene III] Going Up to Go Down

"Heck of a series of puns there, Leohart. Did they teach you that at a wizarding school, or are you an autodidact?" Pock was, of course, being entirely sincere and serious.

The puns are something I learned from my father.  Remember, it isn't a dad joke until it becomes apparent.

Alietra wrinkles her eyebrows. "I wish I could join in - I learned some puns about unemployed folks, but none of them work."

Alietra will look and listen for any obvious signs of goblins, and then do a more careful inspection of the ground at the opening of the archway.

14:37, Today: Alietra rolled 15 using 1d100.  Check for traps at opening of archway.

Despite the archway's deep cracks, Alietra feels quite certain that there are no nasty surprises hidden in the archway, by goblins or otherwise.

In reply to Dwarghar Stoneblood (msg # 16):

Well it USED to be very nice. It hasn't been maintained for centuries, obviously. Whatever it was that smashed the rest of the statue into the lake below may have damaged the the structure in the lower levels as well.
