Re: [Act V, Scene IV] Spiraling Down

"Crap" Alietra mutters under her breath, afraid he will bring more.

If she has an open shot, she will fire another arrow... and hits him, right between the shoulder blades!

11:38, Today: Alietra rolled 17 using 1d20+1 ((16)).

11:39, Today: Alietra rolled 4 using 1d6 ((4)).

Creston stops himself from putting an arrow in the door, but instead relaxes his bow.

In reply to Alietra (msg # 80):

Alietra doesn't let loose an arrow because the goblin's already out of line of sight, sadly.

Einhard turns the corner just in time to see a stout iron door slamming shut, accompanies by the loud thump of an iron bar laid across the inside.

Re: [Act V, Scene IV] Spiraling Down

Placing her bow behind her back, Alietra examines the crack in the door.

"Could you hear which end the final sound came from?" she asks of Einhard.

Does she have anything that would fit through the gap between the wall and the door that she could use to try and lift the bar from this side?

"Well, we could always chisel the door out of the wall. Anyone have a good chisel?" It was a joke, perhaps not in the best of taste.

In reply to Alietra (msg # 86):

I see Alietra has 12 iron spikes and a hammer in her inventory. Attempting to jimmy the door open would, of course, take a rather long time make a heck of a lot of noise echoing through the stone passageways.

Re: [Act V, Scene IV] Spiraling Down

Not what I was trying for actually. If you read my previous post you will see I am trying to see if it would be possible to lift the bar from this side thru the gap in the door. Perhaps with a sword, or dagger?

He's saying an Open Locks by Alieta will improvise a way to remove the bar. If she makes it.

Keeping true to the Jenkin's Strategy for Up & Coming Knights, Einhard steps forward, kicks the door open, and charges in to the room, expecting a horde of goblins waiting to be cut down by his mighty sword.

Looking back at Brodd, Pock grinned at his friend in a way that he believed communicated the precarity of their situation. Then he went on behind the others, stone ready in his sling, ready to kill if there be killing to carry out.

Re: [Act V, Scene IV] Spiraling Down

The party ran into what was once an impressive marble chamber, now humbled by time and neglect.

A long waist-high marble counter stands at the opposite side of the chamber, with metal poles inserted at 5' intervals. Tatters of banners are strung between them, rotted far past the point of identifying.

A figure is crouched behind the counter, with a crossbow braced at the ready. And the very moment Brodd unleashes his sling stone, the foe pulls the trigger.

The missiles fly past each other. The quarrel hits the edge of Brodd's shield and goes tumbling.

Brodd's humble stone, however, is guided by divine Unity, and triumphantly meets with the hobgoblin's forehead, ending his career as a marksman.

10:19, Today: DM rolled 14,3 using d20+2,d6 ((12,3)).
