Gar, leaning against the wall to the side of the door, looks to be resting, but his eyes and ears are sharp for any movement or sound that is out of the ordinary. As thorin unlocks the door, he holds his hand up, stopping him moving, with a crinkle in his orcish brow.

he thought he heard something

Landor slams his palm into his forehead. “Now that we know something is in there, let’s just keep the door closed and lock it. No point in fighting something that could alert the horde of orcs down here. We still have the element of surprise. Let’s go to the south tunnels and take out the smaller groups first. It makes the most tactical sense. Just surprise attack and overwhelm before they can raise an alarm.”

The group finds behind a loose stonework 180 gold and a flash of holy water.

In the center of the room a large, smokey fire crackles in the center of this room. Battered pots and kettles are stacked all over, clearly this serves as a crude kitchen. You notice a distinct draft drawing the smoke up through a rough hole int he center of the ceiling.

"So that was quite fortunate. Who wants to hold onto the flask," inquired Perrin as he stared at the makeshift kitchen with a look of disinterest of its contents. He figured that Gar's way would have been more exciting, but at least they had found some gold so it wasn't a total waste.

Landor holds out his hand. “I’ll hold onto the flask. It seems appropriate anyways. So shall we turn back and go down one of the other tunnels before heading north or do we now want to go straight after the large group?”

Gar, looking around the kitchen, shows no interest in the flask and only passing interest in the gold. He had no use for holy water....he was a warrior, and the gold could be shared later.

...his focus was the enemy.

Without a word he turned back and started for the intersection.  "we go north"

The kenku shakes his head. He whistles, looking aggrivated. Oddly, the samurai turns and starts to head northwest after he gives the dwarf a long stare. Something is bothering him. Tai tries to get in front, hand upon his katana.

They get to the north area. To the west there is a closed door at the top of a platform as well as one further east if the group goes north again and to the east another closed door. Three doors. There is a dwarven statue as well along the north wall at the end of it but the group needs to get closer to examine it as Tai simply looks down the hall to the north.

Tai tilts his head. He points at each door and crosses his arms.

Gar, feeling tai's frustration, follows closely behind him, and sees the passages. He mutters to himself, clearly eager to take frustration out on something. He was not one to talk....he was one of action. And his frustration and impatience was starting to show. Unlike the others, he didn't want to discuss the proper way to go.

...he just wants to go.

Looking at the others, with a grim look he listened for any sounds. Not hearing much except for his breathing and the thumping in his ears, he went north towards the statue and the door .

The door is a simple iron door, probably made by a dwarf. The statue is what looks like a fierce-looking dwarf in heavy mail armor. The stone warrior holds a sword in one hand and a smiths hammer in the other. The statue stands on a large stone pedestel, the whole structure is about 7' tall and must weight several hundred pounds.

Gar, looking at the statue, has a odd look on his face. "If this was a dwarven stronghold, we must take care. " He looks at the statue but keeps his distance. "Maybe this s a guardian....I don't know magic but the statue seems......different"

The barbarian is less sure about this door now. He knows that if dwarves have made this, then it will be protected. But if that was true, then it's likely the orcs haven't come this way.

"So are we going through or not?"

Thorin doesn't find any traps but lets hte group know to be ready as he heard something. Tai readies himself standing in the front with probably Gar. The door is slowly opened.

Barrels, crates and sacks of food stuffs line the walls of this chamber. Amongst the loot, four oversized straw pallets and other simple furnishes show that this room how serves as a bunkroom. Four bestial humanoids (orcs!) with feral eyes are cleaning their weapons and mending their gear. They spring up to their feet and roar in challenge!
