The rogue moves towards it, flanking with Gar. Between the half-orc and elf they kill the creature!

Tai steps into the farmhouse and steps out staring into it. The smell of decay is evident if anyone approaches. Inside the farmhouse and five dead people-one that looks like a farmer, a older man and three dead guards.

He whistles a few times, pointing at the dead hobgoblin corpses and starts to check them for gear and other signs of why they are here.

OOC
Assumed they were checks?

Gar, still injured, breathed heavily, his hands shaking as he fought back the rage he felt, seeing the dead beast. He wordlessly dropped his double axe and went to retrieve his dropped longbow, and returned to his axe, his hands now no longer shaking and his eyes clearer.

He grabs a quiver and fills it with the arrows from the hobgoblins, placing it on the side of his pack as a spare and fills his own quiver up, then looks at the other gear.

"Can anyone detect magical emanations on items....they may have something of use." He also looked at Landor

"...and if your able, some healing would be good, my friend." now his rage has faded, you can truely see how badly he was injured

Roywin looks at the dead Hobgoblins and the loot that they had. Nothing that she can see is useful to her.
She moves towards the door of the farm. The smell is very strong and the vision of the dead men brings some sadness in her face. First listens for any noise from other survivors, then she shouts and listens again.
"I think there are no survivors. Maybe we should check and find if there is anything that can tell us who these people were and the we can give them a proper burial."

Gar nods in thanks to the healing, already his wounds closing over. He looked at tbe gnome with a smile."If you check it out with Lyrian, I'llstart digging some holes in a nice place for them....then we can burn these things on the road."

He looks at the gear. "Bring the two short swords, banded mail, the studded leather, mace and a few longswords. Those that aren't magical are high quality and we can sell them or upgrade. Put them in the cart"

Gar and Tai buried the bodies, finding some gold and a odd religious symbol as well as all the gear left behind on the guards. The group together burns the bodies and Tai whistles as he sits in the farmhouse, crosslegged. He takes a deep breath but is silent. They get the wagon and horses, and are able to get them some water as a well is found nearbye.

Roywin takes the bodies of the guards out of the building slowly (she's an old gnome lady) she searches the bodies looking for any document that can tell them if there was any specific reason other than bad luck to explain how these poor souls ended this way.
All the gear is set aside and put in the wagon. It will probably be sold later.
The only odd thing they find is the religious symbol. She checks it for a while until she finally figured out where she had she it before.
She then takes a piece of paper and tries to describe the guards (how they look, age, clothing, any mark or scar) as accurate as possible. Once they reach a city it would be appropriate to give that to the city guard, so at least the families can find some peace knowing where their ones are buried.

"I took an arrow along the ribs, Landor, if there is any of your god's healing to spare," Lyrian says.  "Olidammara's Luck, Gar, you are tougher than a granite oak!" she adds to the half-orc, amazed at the punishment he took from the hobgoblins and still remained standing. "You grow tougher by the day."

Lyrian was still overwhelmed by the choices of magic to prepare, and hadn't readied the one that let one see magical auras.  She would have to hope that Roywin had such a thing, or else examine them with freshly-bespelled eyes tomorrow.  "I can't tell if aught is magical today, but it seems our foes were well-prepared.  Does that seem odd to anyone else?  Why so many for one farmhouse?  Was there someone inside that they hated?"  Lyrian and her ferret, Ingrid, begin to carefully search the house and the items belonging to the dead, trying to see if any clues remained she could see without disturbing anyone.

OOC: Lyrian is still down 8hp from being arrowed.  She will search around for anything odd/unusual.  Hidden items.  Notes around the home or concealed in a boot or something, etc.
04:06, Today: Lyrian Swift rolled 21 using 1d20+6.  Ingrid Search check.

(IC) The End or the Beginning?

(As shown above) the bodies have been dealt with as the gnome sits with the parchment with the different looks of the guards for future reference.

(As shown above) The rogue and her familiar don't find anything. Its just a small farmhouse with just a single room. Nothing odd. It looks abandoned, probably a decent place to rest. The rogue can assume it was just a passing small wagon with four (humans) of them but there is no sign of the wagon or their horses. There seems to be no clue. Perhaps they were setting up a trap or waiting for more caravans. The farmer probably lived here and was caught in the crossfire.

Since there is no danger, Roy can check the gear that is magical if given a decent amount of time, and time to rest probably needed at least a day and night to recoup and recover, and for spells to be recovered as well.

(2) +1 Shortswords
(1) +1 Banded Mail

The rest of the gear is place in the wagon as well as the magical ones.

OOC So I assume the group takes a long rest. Nothing happens and the group gets all their HP back, and all spellcasters can figure out spells available (Roy can get all her spells back, Lyr as well, ect!)

All listed below are put in the groups wagon:
4 Longswords
4 Studded Leather Armor
4 Light Crossbows
4 Quivers
-Only has 20 bolts left total.

Hobgoblin Troops:
12 Masterwork Longswords
12 Longbows
16 Quivers
-- A lot of arrows
01 Light Steel Shield
01 Masterwork Heavy Mace

Shortswords, Banded Armor put in the wagon as well (probably?)

Landor uses some of his magic to heal Lyrian before taking a look at the holy symbol. “Tiamet, the evil god of all Chromatic dragons. Most who worship the god are truly evil. Its 5 heads are those of the chromatic dragons-Red, Blue, Green, White and Black. Though I find it odd that a hobgoblin worships it but the cleric surely did or had some link to it. Its a ancient god. We should burn it, so others that might see it don’t mistake us for followers of hers.”

The group gathers everything up and at daybreak head down the road. All they know is that Drellin's Ferry needs help. Elsir Vale. They are told where it is and soon in the distance they spot near a rather large river a large village. Its hard to really tell anything from the distance. They get closer, and soon arrive.

The road descends into a town built mostly on the rear side of a broad sluggish river. Six old stone piers jut from the water marking the spot where a bridge once stood but the span itself is long gone. Instead a couple of long thick ropes cross the river, each secured to a flat-bottomed ferryboat. Brown fields and green orchards surround the town.

A group of four armed townsfolk-three in leather, one in scale-stand guard watching the group warily. "Halt and state your business, strangers" One of the guards reponds.
