How you want to go about it?
You can possibly go down near you and not deal with the Duegar again.
You can go talk to the Duegar but go a different way
OR
Can deal with the Duegar and take a look at the southern area that was ignored.

Yeah, let's go down and not deal with the duegar for now. I have a feeling they were expecting us to die at the hands of the demon lady or something, so I'm not feeling like talking with them at the moment.

Just to make it easier, its like a DC climb check of 10. So most can make it down so no need to cast spells :)
